Violet didn't really think about Jim after her encounter. She broke into his flat, she met him, she let him know that she's also very good at playing bad and then she left. She got what she wanted from the whole scheme, a new fix of her drug and that was going to be it. But she was oh so wrong. Because once you mess with Jim Moriarty, you don't just get away with it without any consequences. That's just how it is. And she wishes now that she would've realized that sooner.

Everything went quiet for a while, for maybe about a month. She went back to breaking into small stores, to get that high for the night, sometimes stealing a pack of cigarettes when she ran out but that was it. She didn't want to get herself too out there because she was sure Jim was paying attention, looking for her, trying to find out who she was. Pulling through major crimes wouldn't be a smart idea.

Over the years, she moved quite a lot. No drastic ones out of the city, though, just going from one side of London to the other, just in case somebody did find out about her. The flat she was staying in at the moment was small, kind of like a studio flat and she, surprisingly, really liked it. But that soon changed as she, one day, came back from her run to see a small note on her coffee table. She checked the flat quickly, after she grabbed a bat that she kept next to her front door, only to find it empty.

Strange, she thought before she grabbed the note and read it quickly.

You were right, it wouldn't be fun if you'd tell me your name back then, Violet.

Her eyes widened, heart beating faster as she quickly crumpled the small piece of paper in her hand, quickly bolting to the front door and locking it. No, no, no! This wasn't supposed to happen, he wasn't supposed to find out. Nobody was supposed to find out. She was so stupid for believing he wouldn't go after her. Of course he would and of course he'd find out who she was. He head people everywhere. She was surprised she was still alive, in fact. Because she was sure he saw her as a threat. After all, she did manage to get past all his security and break into his flat with ease.

Deciding on what she should do, the idea of moving once again popped into her mind. It seemed logical at that point, so she quickly packed some of her stuff into a suitcase, things she'll truly need, and decided to stay at a hotel for the next few nights, taking some time off. She needed to get off the radar again, especially since he's found her. She quickly stuffed some clothes in, some other essentials along with her laptop and some coding files she kept under her bed. She needed to get rid of all this stuff, destroy it, burn it, whatever. These things could get her buried six feet under.

She opened the door, ready to leave the flat but stopped, frozen in spot as she came face to face with none other than Moriarty himself. He was smiling, a victorious smile on his face as he saw her shocked expression.

"Hi," he said in a sing-song voice and Violet dropped the handle of her suitcase, letting it fall to the floor with a loud 'thud'. Jim's eyes fell to the case for a brief second before he looked at her again, eyebrows raised. "You dropped something."

Violet was staring at Jim, mouth dry and heart racing, actual fear flowing through her veins. It was weird, the feeling of panic and not knowing what to do. It was new to her, she never experienced it, not in this form at least so her mind went blank, her body numb as she told herself to breathe. She wasn't the one to get scared, oh no, she needed to overcome this. Showing fear to this man would be stupidest mistake she could make, he could probably smell fear.

"Are we just going to stand here, or are you going to let me in?" Jim spoke, looking past her into her flat. Violet cleared her throat.

"How did you-"

"How did I find you?" he cut her off, his eyes snapping back to her. "It was hard, I'll admit that. Your plan worked perfectly, I couldn't trace your code back to you but the one thing you forgot about, the smallest little mistake you made, was the glass of wine. It had your DNA all over it, kitten, and I'm sure you know how easy it is to find people with it," he finished, looking at her with an almost bored look. The stupid mistake she made, the one thing she forgot about and he was bored by it.

"What do you want?" she asked. "If you wanted to let me know that you found me, the note would be enough, why are you really here?"

His lips stretched into a smirk, "It wouldn't be very fun if I told you now, would it?"

He raised an eyebrow in a taunting way, looking at her directly. Violet glared at him, he used her own words against her. She picked up her suitcase and walking back into her flat, dragging the black thing behind her. Jim followed her in, stopping in the middle of the room. She wasn't afraid anymore, oh no, Violet was ready to fight. She was ready to play the game.

"May I?"

Violet pushed the suitcase next to her bed before she turned around to stare at him blankly, crossing her arms over her chest. Her voice was forced, almost angry as she practically hissed, "Be my guest."

Jim smirked before he sat down on her couch, "It was really daring of you, to break into my flat like that. Most people wouldn't even think about messing with me," he said as she sat on one of the barstools, looking at him the whole time.

"I'm not most people, but you already know that," she shot back making him nod his head slightly.

"Why are you here?" she asked again.

"It's a pretty messed up world out there, kitten, you have to know which strings to pull if you want to survive," he said, leaning forwards so his elbows were pressing into his knees, "I want you to work for me."

"No."

"I don't think you get it, Violet," he spoke, his eyes going dark, "It wasn't a question."

"I'm not looking for jobs," she shot back. By now, he didn't even faze her anymore. Why should she be afraid of him? He has a network to do what she can do alone, she realized that in this game, she was as powerful as he was. This was a game of chess and the only two pieces that were left on the board were the king and the queen.

"Let me say this again, give you a bit of fuel, since you obviously aren't getting what I'm trying to say," he started, standing up and walking towards her slowly as he spoke, "If you don't work for me, your friends and family die."

"Boring move, Jim," she answered, standing up and taking a step closer so they were standing in front of each other. His hands were yet again pushed inside his suit pockets. "But you know what, if you so much as think about hurting my family, I'll make sure to tear you apart inch by inch," she hissed, pointing a finger at him.. Jim laughed, almost sarcastically.

Doing what she does for fun wasn't exactly a perfect profession to meet people at; to make friends. So she had none. And she didn't need them. She was better off alone, she never knew what was going to happen to her during her break-ins or her stealing marathons so getting attached to people wasn't a good idea. Besides, if people found out who she was, the first thing they would do is find her pressure point to destroy her, and those would definitely be her friends. As for the family, as her mother was a single parent, her family wasn't as big as most kids'. She never knew her dad, the guy bolted when he found out her mother was pregnant with her and her grandparents were already dead. Her mother, on the other hand was still alive and she wanted to keep her that way.

"Oh kitten, I don't think you know who you're dealing with."

This time, it was Violet's turn to raise her eyebrows in a taunting manner, "I think it's quite the opposite, Jim. You don't know who you're dealing with. You see, I did my research," she spoke, "I know a lot about you. Stuff that only you know about yourself. In this game, I'm just as powerful as you so c'mon, Jimmy boy, what's your next move?"

Jim took the final step closer to her, their chests touching as he glared down at her with eyes so full of anger that it sent a shiver down Violet's spine. At that moment, right in front of her, he looked insane. But you know what the good thing about all of this was? The fact that she was just insane as him. This whole thing was a stand-off and neither of them were willing to stop. To the both of them, this was the most fun they've had in a long time. The fact that they found someone on the same level of insanity was almost intoxicating. Violet hasn't killed anyone in her entire life, yes, but the motives behind her crimes were the exact same as Jim's. She was bored out of her mind. And this, this was the excitement she was looking for in all 30 years of her existence.

"It wouldn't be fun if I told you now, would it?" he hissed, repeating her words once again before he straightened up and smirked, his eyes going back to normal. "I'll see you around, Mrs. Gray." And with that, he left, leaving Violet standing alone in her flat, smiling.
