The palace's library was filled with books of legends including the legend of Nimue. However, Zelena was crushed with preparations for a mandatory funeral for Walsh on order of Walsh's father, who decided that Zelena wasn't fit to rule a kingdom on her own. After the funeral, he approached Zelena.
"My son chose you to be his Queen. I do not know his motives, but I do know that you are not fit to rule Oz without a man by your side. You need to find someone to rule Oz with you. I don't care if you get married or if he helps out of sight from the public, but you have one week to find someone before I pick someone for you."
So Zelena told Arthur about the issue.
"I can stay with you while we look for Nimue," he offered. "Obviously I'd just help you from out of sight from the public. Not that I don't trust you can rule Oz without me, but--"
"Thank you," Zelena interrupted. "I'll tell Walsh's dad I found someone. However, he won't accept you unless we find some, well, local-style clothing." Zelena raided Walsh's closet and found something that looked as if it had never been worn. It looked like something a citizen of the wealthy sector of Oz would wear, rather than something a King would wear. It was perfect.
After Walsh's father approved Arthur and the two finally got some free time, they headed straight for the library.
Zelena found a book she had come across while researching Arthur's sword. She flipped through the pages until she came across the legend of Nimue.
"Is that it?" Arthur looked at the book in Zelena's hand.
She nodded. "This is it. I'll skip the part about before she came to Oz, because that's the majority of the book. The only part we need is when she's actually in Oz." Zelena flipped through the pages until she found what she was looking for. Then, she began to read.
"'When Nimue arrived in Oz, she was welcomed by the King and Queen themselves. Some speculated they might be old friends, while others claimed Nimue had used her dark magic to be accepted in Oz.
Now, it was late one night and Nimue was pacing a back hall in the palace. Thinking no one was looking, she pulled a dagger from the inside of her cloak. The jagged edges of the dagger made it different from any weapon seen in Oz before. A quiet maid who had been on her way to see if Nimue needed anything saw the dagger and tried to run the other direction. But Nimue saw her. She hid the dagger again used her magic to pull the maid towards her.
"And what are you doing up this late?" Nimue asked, her reptilian eyes seeming to stare into the maid's soul.
"I-I was sent to check on you," the maid managed despite her growing fear.
"Very well," Nimue released the maid. "How much did you see?"
"N-Nothing ma'am."
"And that had better be your story to everyone. Or I will not hesitate to destroy you," Nimue threatened.
"Y-yes, ma'am."
"Now go." The maid scurried off, keeping the secret of Nimue's dagger to herself so she wouldn't end up dead.
The maid did a very good job of keeping the secret for the first week of Nimue's visit. However, in the middle of the second week, she let it slip to one of the Queen's maids that Nimue had a dagger like none she's seen before. The Queen's maid told the Queen, who confronted Nimue about it. Nimue denied having a dagger, of course, but between the Queen and her maid, they were able to get it from her.
"What does it do?" The Queen wondered aloud and she examined the dagger in her hands. Nimue's name was engraved in the blade as well as carefully carved designs. Perhaps Nimue had designed them herself and it was nothing special. Or perhaps it had something to do with Nimue's dark magic that the Queen had elected to ignore.
"Nimue," the Queen muttered, mostly to herself, "why do you have this?"
Nimue appeared in a cloud of dark grey smoke. "Because it controls all of my magic. And now you have it."
The Queen looked from Nimue to the dagger and back again. "What do you mean it controls all of your magic?"
"I mean exactly that. Now may I have it back?"
"No."
"What?"
The Queen grew more confident knowing that Nimue's magic was now in her control. "No. You brought this weapon into my home and endangered my husband and I when we offered you comfort. I think I'll keep this to remind you to not betray trust again."
Nimue, desperate to get the dagger back, lunged for it. "You cannot keep it!"
The Queen let out a harsh laugh. "Oh, I think I can. You have no idea--'"
Zelena suddenly stopped reading.
"What?" Arthur asked.
"The last few pages are gone. I swear they were here when I first married Walsh."
"Did he somehow know the sword was broken?" Arthur asked.
Zelena shook her head in confusion. "Maybe. But it seems possible that Nimue's dagger is still here in the castle somewhere. And if we don't find it, we might be able to at least find the missing pages."
"Where should we look first?"
Zelena smiled a smile that made her look wicked and slightly insane. "The forbidden West Wing of course."

Tink lowered the hood of her pastel green cloak as she entered the warm cave. Nimue sat typing away on her laptop while Snow, Red, and Ingrid talked in hushed voices to one another. Snow looked up at Tink, her white cloak somehow still pure as snow despite the dirt in the cave.
"There you are! We almost risked going after you."
"I'm fine," Tink assured them. She turned to Nimue. "The deed is done. I have warned Queen Emma about the rulers of Locksley. I have pitted the Alliance of Rulers against each other."
"Good."
