July 20th

It didn't last long, but school was over and summer break had started, so I decided to celebrate by... ... ... going to the chemist! Woo hoo! I know exiting, right? On my way there I ran into a blue-haired girl wearing a white nun's uniform, I could tell this was Index, I opened my mouth to speak, but before I could, she ran off. Shrugging, I proceeded to the chemist to pick up my prescription order. Once everything was said and done, I made my way to a hospital as I received a call to meet up with them and an expert on cerebral physiology to discuss something about people spontaneously falling into comas. Upon arriving, I walked to the reception lady, who was at her desk. She told me to meet the hospital director upstairs. I was on the stairs when I heard a person talking," Another person will arrive shortly, and just to clarify, he is rather young," I reached the top of the stairs and came into view." Ah, there he is," The doctor spoke as I came over to them, and my arrival was surprising to a few, because someone decided to say something about it," You, why are you here!?" It was Mikoto," I'm here because I was asked to be, the real question is why are you here?" I responded calmly. She didn't say anything in response,' That seemed to quiet her down quickly,' I thought. The doctor who called me here coughed to get our attention," if you  could take a look at our patients and if our guests could stay in the waiting room that would be very much appreciated," The girls nodded and left to the waiting room. The doctor turned to me and the person I already knew as Harumi Kiyama," If you would please follow me," with that we both followed him into a patient's room.

Hours later...

I walked out of the hospital having answered a good, satisfying number of their questions. I yawned, deciding to go for a small walk, before I headed back to my dorm. Unlike Harumi, I stayed longer to help the doctors through the power outage, so it was already late afternoon. The sky had turned orange and the sun was setting slowly, creating an irritating glare for me. Despite that the walk was nice as I ended up being accompanied by another person, a couple of years older, but enjoyable company nonetheless. This company's name was none other than Touma Kamijou." I didn't know you stop explosions, why didn't you tell me you were an esper?" asked Touma curiously, to which I responded," honestly, I thought you already knew, I mean if I wasn't an esper how could I drop kick someone bare foot from the top of a large building without sustaining any damage at all?" Touma sighed," yeah, I guess that makes sense." We continued to talk like this for a while until we reached Touma's dorm building," well this is where I say goodbye Touma, have an eventful night," I said knowing what was about to occur." Right, well see you later Hisao," He bid me farewell and continued towards his dorm, right now to find a good viewing platform, there's no way I'm missing this scene, especially with what happened earlier," I said before going to the top of a random building." Let's just hope that things don't go south and I don't end up needing to intervene," I stated before sitting down and looking directly at where the battle would go down. I waited for many hours as I watched the battle go down, with Touma eventually being victorious," good, nothing happened, I hope it stays that way." With the battle over and done with, there wasn't much else to do, so I began to head back to the place I now call home.

I'd like to say that getting there was as peaceful as almost all my other walks, but that would be a lie, I ran into one of the last people I wanted to see right now." Tell me, why were you observing them fight? Why didn't you join your friend?" A feminine voice questioned me." The answer to that is simple, it is an answer your feeble mind cannot comprehend at this moment, the reason I didn't join the fight is..." I replied dramatically," ...Because I would have gotten in the way." My short answer didn't seem to faze her,  so I decided to have a little fun," I knew it, your mental state could not handle the information that you have been given," my little comment seemed to weird her out a little. She moved which sent what seemed to be some kind of slash of air, it came closer and closer until it was right in front of me, but nothing happened; that seemed to frighten her slightly," don't you have better things to do instead of attacking a teenager?" I asked wanting to go home, she responded with a slightly shaky voice," actually I'm just following my orders, you seemed suspicious, so I investigated and found a possible threat." I looked over to her and sighed, "I assure you I am not a threat, so long as you don't  give me a reason to be," she got out of the offensive stance that she was in," well it's good know that you won't be gett-," she said as she was cut of mid-sentence," but if you ever hurt anyone of my friends..." I made a cutting motion with my hand across her neck," ...I will not hesitate," I finished as I walked away from her in the direction of my dorm.

Kaori Kanzaki's Perspective

'How, how did he get so close,' That thought rushed through my mind as he walked off into the night," damn, what kind of an espur is he?" I decided that it would be best if I met up with Magnus,' I'll have to do more research into him and his abilities,' I thought.

The Next Day...

Hisao's Perspective

The day was passing by normally for everyone as they walked outside, enjoying the summer break with their friends, while I was alone, just walking around, waiting for something interesting to happen. Unfortunately, nothing of any significance had happened, so I went to a vending machine for a drink, but it ate my money." so it really does eat your money," I said, shrugging my shoulders afterwards," welp, only one solution for this," I got into a stance and spun while lifting my leg. This made the machine vibrate and spit out a can," lucky me, I got the one I wanted," I walked away, and sat on a bench, satisfied. Every now and then I took a sip of my drink, while watching people pass by with their friends, this continued until I spotted Mikoto walking over to me," why do you look so lonely?" I looked up to her before replying with a smile," I don't know, where your friends?" She sat down next to me before she answered," they're doing judgement work, and I don't know where Saten is," I nodded accepting her answer. We sat there for a few minutes before Mikoto spoke up," so why were you asked to go to that hospital?" I placed my drink down next to me, before sighing," I'll tell you later, now really isn't the time." She placed he drink down next to her before jumping up in front of me," You owe me remember, so tell me!" She said loudly. This reaction made me sigh," you'll find out soon, so there's no point in telling you," I answered, before she sat down again. Looking to my drink, I realised that we had the same drink, at first, I thought,' what a coincidence,' but then it hit me,' we have the same drink, how do we tell difference.' I looked intensely at the drinks to find some difference, but I couldn't, so I voiced my thoughts," Mikoto, we have a problem," she looked over to me, before she asked what it was, she realised what I was looking at. "Mikoto, do you remember which one was yours? Please tell me you do," I asked sweating profusely, before she shook her head in response. "Right, well, when all else fails choose one at random and hope for the best," I said while picking one up and quickly bringing it to my mouth to drink it, while Mikoto just watched with a red face. "Y-you just d-drank it," she stuttered after I finished the drink," yes I did, wasn't that obvious?" I rhetorically asked back. She grabbed the remaining drink," Right," and she drank it with, if possible, a face that was redder than before.

Mikoto's Perspective

'I can't believe he drank it, he didn't even care if it was mine or his, and I drank the other one. It could've been his!!!!! Wait, why should I care? There's no need to waste so much mental energy on someone like him.' I thought deeply, paying next to no attention to the hand that was being waved in front of my face,' but then again that drink could've been his and that would mean I-.'

*!!Clap!!*

"Hello, Mikoto, Earth to Mikoto, you there?" I snapped out of my thoughts, looking down slightly, I answered," yes." He sighed, faking relief," good, I thought I lost you there," his sarcastic response was all it took to get me to stand up, turn around and shout," SHUT UP, I DON'T NEED YOUT INSINCERE WORRIES! I'm leaving, goodbye," I turned and stormed of to go find Kuroko. I heard Hisao say something about me and conversations before I was completely out of earshot. 'I wonder what he was mumbling about, wait no I don't! Who cares what he was saying, it's not like it matters anyway,' I spoke mentally, before speeding up my pace.

Hisao Perspective

"Why do conversations between me and Mikoto always end up as a one-sided yelling fest? I questioned myself outloud."I suppose it doesn't really matter right now, got to focus on that matter," I look down and check the date. The 21st," three more days, man I'm getting chills just thinking about that thing," I stated to no one in particular.' It's nearly here, every moment from now is building up to that moment, let's just hope I don't screw up.'
