Their morning was slow. A few calls here and there but not much. By noon they would get a call that changed that. They head out in the truck Bobby, buck and eddie in the truck while hen and chimney took the ambulance.

Once buck reads the place they are going he can't breath. Bobby looks over and sees the location as well glancing back to eddie who has no idea

Chris' school. They get closer and they can see the smoke. Bobby watches as the two boys go from firefighters to terrified parents.

Bobby tried not to think of his own family that he had lost. Bobby focused on giving ordered and working with the other department that came.

The building was only three stories tall but that was still a lot of fire to get through.

The principle thankfully has a list of children however two are missing.

"Is there anyone else inside?"  Bobby asks the lady and watches her face drain

She nods "one child names David and the other Christopher I should warn you one is Def and the other-" she doesn't get to finish before Bobby says it for her

"has cp yes I know" he said and then there is yelling and the sound of glass

On the third story is Chris hanging out the window yelling

"buck! dad! help!" he screams and before Bobby can stop him buck is climbing the building.

He doesn't even have a Harness on. "Buck!" he yells but the man doesn't stop.

He just stares at chris and uses all of his strength.He only stops once he reaches Chris

"It's ok buddy I'm going to get you out of here." He said and got into the classroom

The fire was right outside the door they had no time to think about much.

"Buck!" Eddie yells and when buck looks he is throwing him rope. Before he can even realize he has it in his hand and is wrapping it around Chris.

"Chris we gotta go" he said and chris ran to a wall not far from the window and buck sees it.

Another little boy. Chris uses asl to speak to the boy who nods and takes his hand letting himself be lead to buck.

Buck wrapped the rope around the three of them and holds them tight as he gets close to the window.

He looks down and sees the the landing pad is being inflated but they don't have that kind of time. He sees a hook and ties the rope to it.

He then looks at the boys. Chris tried to keep him calm and buck assumes is explaining. He nods to Chris who holds onto him tighter

They jump and slowly lower but then the room they were just in bursts into flames.

Some caught the rope on fire and buck sees it before looking back at the landing pad that is ready. He looks at the boys and smiled.

'Take a deep breath" he tells Chris and cuts the rope letting them fall making sure the two of them landed on top of buck.

The others pull David off of buck but he won't let go of Chris not tell eddie takes him into his arms.

Next thing buck knows he is being huged by Bobby who is holding tighter then he usually does.

"Don't scare me like that again" he said before letting go so Chris can have his buck again

However Chris pulls buck and eddie into a hug which they both accept.

The other child's parents walked up and thanked them

"Thank you. David tells us you kept him calm your brave just like your dads." The mother says and the dad smiled.

"I knew that dad and buck would come for me" he said and eddie held tighter the other child saying goodbye with a wave which Chris returned.

Everyone looking at them, could see the family they had made for themselves but won't admit it.

One day they would realize that this is their family and when that day came everyone would be there for them.
