1. The Curve Wrecker

"Mu Chen is ranked top one again. Looks like Mu Chen is going to win the national scholarship again," in the library a trainee said with some jealousy.

"I heard that he won the first prize at the national mathematics competition a few days ago."

"This is not a big deal. He took home the top prize in global cross-subject modeling competition for college students."

"I heard that he is proficient in computer science and won the Turing Award which is a valuable price."

"I heard that he also applied patents for three inventions."

"Why is he such a genius?"

"It is not a big deal. He's just a bookworm. I bet he doesn't know how to shell an egg. He is just good at academic exams. He will have a taste of the bitter life when he graduates."

"Maybe you are wrong. I heard that Mu Chen is good at cooking."

"No way, he can cook. Shouldn't he spend all his time studying?"

"No! I heard from Mu Chen's roommate that this guy likes to read novels and spent a lot of time reading novels."

Mu Chen was silently looking at the ceiling on the bed. A moment ago, he was reading a novel l in his dorm. Next moment, he was struck by lightning.

Unknown memories flocked into his mind, which told Mu Chen that he had transmigrated into a different world.

Misfortune came from nowhere. Mu Chen did not have a clue what he did wrong and why he was sent here by a lightening strike.

"Young Master, Young Master, are you awake?" A manservant walked in and asked.

"Qi Four, get out, let me alone."

"Young Master, a Three-eyed Wolf King is going to fight in the Fighting Arena today. Do you want to take a look?"

"Get out," Mu Chen yelled.

Qi Four had a few looks at Mu Chen up and walked away.

"Even Qi Four is chased out. He is Young Master's favorite."

"Looks like the young master is so angry with Master Zhuang Yu. Now he even lost interested in the Fighting Arena."

"It is his first time to love someone so much but got rejected so hard. Poor man!"

"There are plenty more fish in the sea. It seems that Zhuang Yu is very hard to get. He'd better give up."

"Yes, Zhuang Yu is beautiful. But other than that, he is nothing."

Mu Chen sighed and heard the conversation between the two servants.

After transmigration, Mu Chen had taken in the original owner's soul power. Now his hearing suddenly augmented several times. Therefore, he heard every single word the two servants said.

Mu Chen felt so sad because he not only transmigrated, but also into a novel he was reading.

This novel told a story about the growth of a goody two-shoes who was a bottom. He was born in a common family but very handsome with innocent quality which attracted different men to do everything for him.

There were two endings of these men. Those with excellent qualities were accepted by the bottom. Those who were not good enough ended up serving as cannon fodder.

Unfortunately, the character Mu Chen transmigrated into was a standard cannon fodder because he was an ignorant and incompetent lecher who depended his life on his wealthy family.

2. Being Rejected

"Young Master," Qi Four walked in with his head hanging down.

Mu Chen narrowed his eyes and glared at Qi Four in anger. He said impatiently, "Didn't I tell you not to bother me?"

According to the original book, Mu Chen's mother was dead years ago. His father, Mu Yuanfeng, was an alchemist who spent most of his life making elixirs. Although he loved Mu Chen, Mu Yuanfeng did not have enough time to take care of Mu Chen. Mu Yuanfeng would clean up the mess the original owner made.

Qi Four forced an awkward smile and said cautiously, "I remember what you said. It's just that Mr. Zhuang Yu came."

Mu Chen squinted and asked, "He's here? What is he doing here?"

Mu Chen narrowed his eyes. Although Qi Four acted respectfully, Mu Chen knew that this person didn't respect him like he did on the surface because Qi Four was a spy planted by Mu Yuanhang, Mu Chen's uncle.

According to his memory, Mu Chen was a good boy when he was young. He was talented in making elixirs. However, as he grew up, his uncle Mu Yuanhang started to introduce him a lot of entertainment activities secretly. Since Mu Chen was too young to control himself, soon he   was distracted from education and wasted time on having fun.

Although Mu Chen was intimidated by his father Mu Yuanfeng, thanks to Mu Yuanhang who covered for Mu Chen, Mu Chen had a great fun during those years.

When Mu Yuanfeng found that Mu Chen had wasted his life on something unimportant, he tried to direct him into the right direction. But Mu Chen had never changed. As time went by, there was nothing Mu Yuanfeng could do.

Qi Four glanced at Mu Chen and said, "Mr. Zhuang Yu came to return the Aquamarine Sword. He said he can't accept it as a gift because he doesn't deserve it."

"Where is he?" asked Mu Chen.

"He is gone," Qi Four said.

"Where's the sword?" asked Mu Chen.

Mu Chen rolled his eyes in his mind. According to the book, Zhuang Yu was a handsome man with noble quality and integrity. He did not have a reason to receive a gift given by Mu Chen, a bad man.

Mu Chen snorted. Zhuang Yu was not a talented person. He was so famous and lived well because he had different admirers done everything for him. Although he refused to accept Mu Chen's sword, he received a lot of things from others.

In Mu Chen's opinion, there were two reasons why Zhuang Yu didn't accept Mu Chen's gift. First, Zhuang Yu was playing hard to get. Second, Zhuang Yu did not like the sword. Mu Chen had spent five hundred elementary stones on buying the Aquamarine Sword. However, in fact, this sword was only worth 50 elementary stones. Apparently, Mu Chen was deceived.

If Mu Chen could give Zhuang Yu five hundred elementary stones, Zhuang Yu might have accepted them.

Qi Four's heart trembled. He glanced at Mu Chen and said, "I keep it."

As Mu Chen was an arrogant person, he would either give the gift away or throw it away. But he would never take it back. Therefore, Qi Four took the liberty to keep the sword to himself. In his assumption, Mu Chen would be ashamed to bring up the sword again because Zhuang Yu rejected it. Therefore, Qi Four kept the sword.

"You have it? Why? As your own property?" Mu Chen mocked.

Qi Four knelt down and said, "Master, I don't dare. I took it away from you because I'm afraid that you'll feel sad when you see the sword."

Mu Chen snorted, "Why would I feel sad? Bring the sword to me."

Qi Four nodded and said, "Yes!"

Mu Chen took a deep breath. According to the original story, Mu Chen would be mad because Zhuang Yu rejected his gift and had a big fight with Chen Moran, one of Zhuang Yu's admirers. Mu Chen and Chen Moran were seriously injured. His father Mu Yuanfeng held a grudge against the Chen family because of this.

3. Decided to Return the Sword

A sword decorated with jewelries was held by Mu Chen's hand. Mu Chen was touching the gems on the sword with excitement.

The gemstones on Aquamarine Sword were of excellent quality. He would make a fortune by selling them on earth.

"Young Master, how do you plan to deal with this sword?" Qi Four asked.

"How to deal with it? Return it!" Mu Chen said.

Qi Four frowned and asked, "Return it?"

Mu Chen nodded, "Yes!"

The original owner paid all his money on this sword. Mu Chen needed money because he was quite new to this world.

Thankfully, he had kept the receipt of the sword. If he returned it with fifteen days, he could be refunded with 90 percent stones. It was not valuable to keep the sword to himself.

"Aren't you suppose to give the sword to Mr. Zhuang Yu?" Qi Four was confused.

Mu Chen nodded, "Yes! But he refused to accept it."

"Young Master, don't worry. As long as you insist on giving the sword to Mr. Zhuang Yu with sincerity, I believe he will accept your gift," Qi Four said.

Mu Chen rolled his eyes in mind: Why would he beg someone who wants to kill him to accept his gift?! Why would he waste so much money? Besides, Zhuang Yu was not his type.

Mu Chen said, "I admit that Zhuang Yu is beautiful. But he is not the only beautiful one. I can spend the same amount of time and energy on several men."

Mu Chen pouted and thought: According to my memory, Mu Chen was a playboy before he met Zhuang Yu. However, after knowing Zhuang Yu, Mu Chen stopped seeing other men.

Qi Four was confused.

"But, Young Master, didn't you say that you've already decided that Zhuang Yu is the only one?" Qi Four asked.

Mu Chen stared coldly at Qi Four. Qi Four was scared by the stare. He asked, "What's wrong, master?"

"Nothing. Don't you think you're talking too much? Do I need to explain to a servant? Who do you think you are to control me?" Mu Chen snorted.

Qi Four said awkwardly, "I'm sorry, Master, it is my mistake."

There was a trace of hatred in Qi Four's eyes. Mu Chen caught it. According to his memory, the original owner was a generous master. He gave Qi Four everything he deserved. But Qi Four was not loyal to him and even treated him as an idiot.

Mu Chen glanced at Qi Four coldly and said, "Get out. I don't need you to wait on here."

Qi Four was shocked and he retreated.

Mu Chen had anger in his eyes as he watched Qi Four leaving. He knew that Qi Four was holding a grudge, so Mu Chen wished to get rid of him as soon as possible.

However, as he was new to the world, if he got rid of his private servant all of sudden, others might find out that he was different from the original Mu Chen. Therefore, Mu Chen decided to keep Qi Four for a while.

"Qi Four, you are kicked out again by the young master!" Zhao Second sniggered as he talked to Qi Four.

Qi Four gritted his teeth. Although he was loyal to Mu Yuanhang, he worked for Mu Chen on the surface. Now as Mu Chen was indifferent to him, the other servants looked down on him.

"Young Master is in a bad mood," Qi Four said.

Zhao Second smiled coldly and said, "Young Master hired Ren Three back."

Qi Four was shocked. Ren Three was a servant Mu Chen's mother left for Mu Chen. Ren Three had been taking care of Mu Chen before. As he was a dull person, Mu Chen did not like him. Therefore, Mu Chen had kicked him out. Now Mu Chen rehired him. It seemed that Mu Chen had really changed.

"Qi Four, what did you do?" Zhao Second asked Qi Four.

"I didn't do anything!" Qi Four answered.

During this period of time, he helped Mu Chen have fun from those luxury parties and entertainment activities. Mu Chen should be happy with his performance. The only thing he did not help was that Zhuang Yu rejected Mu Chen.

Qi Four pursed his lips. If he lost Mu Chen's trust, he would mean nothing to Mu Yuanhang.

4. Return the Sword

"Young Master," Ren Three walked in and said respectfully.

"Good that you're here. Come with me," Mu Chen glanced at Ren Three and said lightly.

"Yes, Young Master," said Ren Three.

Mu Chen sized Ren Three up and down. Ren Three was a mediocre-looking man. He was a dull person. However, he was loyal to Mu Chen and he was quite a fighter.

Qi Four immediately went forward as Mu Chen and Ren Three walked out. Mu Chen caught the hinge of disgust in Qi Four's eyes.

"Young Master, where are you going?" Qi Four caught up and asked.

"Why? Do I need to report to you where I go?" asked Mu Chen impatiently.

"I'm just worried about your safety, Master." Qi Four answered in horror.

Mu Chen looked at him and said, "You are worried about my safety? If I'm in danger, what can you do for me?"

According to the memory of the original owner, when the original master fought with other people, Qi Four always faked a few moves and then hid himself somewhere else to watch the fight. The original master was too stupid to notice this.

Ren Three glanced at Qi Four and followed Mu Chen out.

When others servants saw this, they looked at Qi Four with sarcasm, pity, or gloat.

Ren Three asked Mu Chen, "Young Master, where are we going?"

"Go to the Hu's Weapon Shop to return this sword," Mu Chen said.

Ren Three looked at Mu Chen in surprise, "Return it? This is not something you would do."

Mu Chen smiled, "Because I need money now."

"Master Mu, welcome. How may I help you?" The shopkeeper of the Hu's Weapon Shop came to greet Mu Chen warmly.

Mu Chen took out the Aquamarine Sword and handed it to the shopkeeper, saying, "I'm here to refund the sword."

The shopkeeper's face changed, and he said, "What's wrong with the sword, Master Mu?"

Mu Chen smiled and said, "It is supposed to be a gift to give out. But now it is rejected. So I am returning it."

"Young Master Mu, you'd better think about it clearly. It is an excellent quality sword. If the sword is returned, I will have to deduct 10% of elementary stones as handling fee. The next time you will pay much more to buy it." The shopkeeper reminded Mu Chen.

Mu Chen smiled and said, "Please return it. I did think this sword was a good one, but now, I don't know why, I lost interested in it."

The shopkeeper smiled awkwardly and said, "Okay then."

"Hold on! Isn't this Mr. Mu Chen?" Chen Moran walked over with a fan in his hand and Zhuang Yu besides him.

Mu Chen couldn't help but narrow his eyes. According to the original story, Mu Chen would be furious because Zhuang Yu returned his sword, and he would fight with Chen Moran, one of Zhuang Yu's admirers. Now, he did not seek a fight with Chen Moran. But Chen Moran and Zhuang Yu came to him.

"Mr. Chen!" Mu Chen said lightly.

When Zhuang Yu saw Mu Chen, a hint of disgust flashed in his eyes. He hid behind Chen Moran.

Seeing the disgust flashing in Zhuang Yu's eyes, Mu Chen sneered in his mind.

Zhuang Yu, on the one hand, enjoyed Mu Chen's admire but disgusted Mu Chen for being a useless playboy on the other hand.

When Zhuang Yu saw Mu Chen's eyes move away from him, a strange feeling surged in his heart.

"Mr. Mu, what are you doing here? Are you buying a sword again? Wait. No! I heard that you are short of money lately. Can you afford a sword?" Chen Moran said contemptuously.

"No, Young Master Mu is here to refund the sword." The shopkeeper said.

Chen Moran giggled, "No way, Mr. Mu, you are that poor already? You have to sell your sword?" 

"Yes! I'm already this poor. Mr. Chen, are you going to fund me!" Mu Chen said lightly.

5. Challenge into a Fight

Chen Moran's eyes shrank all of a sudden as he saw the sword on the counter.

"Mu Chen, are you going to return this sword?" Chen Moran pointed at the sword on the counter, glared at Mu Chen angrily.

Mu Chen nodded and said, "Yes!"

"How could you do this?" Chen Moran looked at Mu Chen as if Mu Chen had done something horrible.

Mu Chen pouted and said to himself: Is it something to do with you when I return my belongings? Why are you doing that face?!

"What's wrong with returning my own thing?" Mu Chen said lightly.

"It is a gift you gave to Zhuang Yu." Chen Moran said viciously.

Mu Chen nodded and said, "Zhuang Yu doesn't want it. If he doesn't want it, what's the problem with me returning it?"

Chen Moran stared at Mu Chen stubbornly, and said, "You are going too far."

Mu Chen rolled his eyes. He really didn't understand how wrong it was.

Zhuang Yu tugged Chen Moran's sleeve and said, "Enough, Moran. Stop talking. This sword belongs to Mu Chen. He has a right to deal with his own belongings."

Mu Chen looked at Zhuang Yu. Zhuang Yu's skin was fair and his eyes were looking bright. He was beautiful but unfortunately, not Mu Chen's type.

Mu Chen was into men in the previous life, but he liked tall, handsome, manly-looking men. Zhuang Yu was his less favorite because Mu Chen's favorite usually liked men like Zhuang Yu.

Chen Moran looked at Mu Chen angrily, and said, "Mu Chen, you'd better give up the idea of returning it. You gave it to Zhuang Yu as a gift. How can you return it?"

Mu Chen folded his arms and looked at Chen Moran. There was a hinge of anger in his eyes. This sword belonged to him. Whether he would return had nothing to do with Chen Moran. Who on earth was Chen Moran to have the right to interfere his decision? What he did to make Chen Moran hate him so much? 

"Sir, refund me four hundred and fifty elementary stones." Mu Chen looked at the shopkeeper coldly and said.

The shopkeeper looked at Chen Moran and then at Mu Chen, hesitantly said, "Master Mu Chen, have you really made up your mind?"

Mu Chen nodded and said, "Yes."

The shopkeeper sighed in mind and gave four hundred and fifty elementary stones to Mu Chen although he did not want to. Mu Chen couldn't wait to put the elementary stones into the space ring.

Zhuang Yu came up with a complicated feeling as he watched the whole thing behind Chen Moran.

Mu Chen's eyes swept over Zhuang Yu lightly. Zhuang Yu's eyes were full of puzzlement and sorrow, which kind of scared Mu Chen.

"Mu Chen, I challenge you into a fight." Chen Moran said to Mu Chen, gritting his teeth.

Mu Chen's eyes narrowed slightly. In the original story, Mu Chen was furious because Zhuang Yu returned his sword and fought with Chen Moran. Now instead of him challenge Chen Moran, Chen Moran was the one to start a fight.

"Busy." Mu Chen said without hesitation.

In the original story, Chen Moran and the original owner were both hurt during the fight. But for Mu Chen who had just come to this world, he was still getting used to his body and martial arts he had. If he fought with Chen Moran, he would definitely lose. He did not want to get hurt on the first day of being in this world.

Chen Moran sneered and said, "You coward."

Zhuang Yu pulled Chen Moran's sleeve and said, "Moran, stop it."

Mu Chen gave Chen Moran a cool look and was to leave.

"Mr. Mu." Zhuang Yu stopped Mu Chen who was about to leave.

Mu Chen turned around, looked at Zhuang Yu, and asked, "Yes?"

Zhuang Yu looked at Mu Chen with a bit of guilt in his eyes, "I'm sorry. But there are things that I can't do against my will."

Mu Chen smiled and said, "I see."

Mu Chen went away with Ren Three. Ren Three looked at Mu Chen with a lot of thoughts on his mind.

Chen Moran was full of disdain as he watched Mu Chen leaving. Chen Moran thought to himself: In just a few days, Mu Chen is getting more and more coward.
