*Back at the firehouse*
"What were you thinking Gabby?! You could've gotten yourself killed!" Matt yelled as he closed the door to the common room, Gabby leaning on the edge of the table, her coffee mug in her hand. "Matt, it's not my fault the building flashed!" she yelled, slamming the mug onto the table, crossing her arms. "Gabby... Every time you run into a burning building by my side, I'm afraid of losing you. You're carrying my baby now, and I need to keep you safe... And alive," he said. Gabby looked at him and shrugged. "You know Matt this is my baby too. It's our baby. I'm just trying to do my job" Matt nodded his head and looked her in the eyes. "I really want us to work. I couldn't stand not talking to you for what seemed like forever, even when you were standing right in front of me. It was so stupid of me to not stop you from leaving," Matt said, making Gabby hug him.

"I obviously made the right decision at the time. It's brought us closer," Gabby said pulling back and kissing him, Matt quickly backing off. "Are you saying your glad you left when you did? Gabby, I was miserable without you," Matt asked, anger suddenly taking over his soul. "Matt I..." "You know what, we'll talk at home" "Matt, we aren't bringing work home, we agreed on that," Gabby said as she watched Matt walk to the door, placing a hand on the knob. "I know, but now this argument has nothing to do with work. I'll see you later," Matt said opening the door and walking away, leaving Gabby alone.
As Matt walked to his office, he stopped in the hallway and closed his eyes and sighed. He then heard the bathroom door open and he saw Kelly standing there, wiping his hands off on a paper towel. "You okay?" Kelly asked him as they stood in the hallway, Matt shrugging. "What did you do this time?" Kelly asked him. Matt shook his head and looked away. "It's nothing man, really..." Matt replied walking to his office, Kelly following him.
"You screwed things up with Gabby again didn't you?" Matt opened his office door and sat in his chair and looked at Kelly. "What do you mean again?" "Oh c'mon Matt we all know this isn't the first time you screwed up with her. You're lucky she even sticks around to deal with you," Kelly said making Matt laugh.
"I... I don't know," Matt said frustrated placing his face into his hands, rubbing his face. Kelly patted his friend on the shoulder. "She's carrying a baby Matt, treat her with respect" "This is coming from a guy who had a one night stand and became a dad in nine months time," Matt said. "Sure go ahead and use me as the bad example. I just want you to try to be better than I was. Don't screw this up because face it. The baby, Gabby, is who you're really living for. Without them, what's the point of living," Kelly replied leaving, closing the door behind him. Matt placed his face into his hands again and then he got up, laying down on his cot and looking up at the ceiling. He shook his head and closed his eyes. He really screwed up, and he needed to make things right.
