adorable confidence as she flopped through the glass, like a fish plopping into the water in a fish tank, landing perfectly on her feet. Kala and Harry soon followed, crashing against the bright pink flooring, with Kala holding out her hands and Harry collapsing straight onto the ground.

Gummy shot up from his seated position, running over to his friends. "My voice is back!! I can say anything I want the right way!" He cried in excitement.

"Listen!" Gummy took a deep breath. "Peter Piper picked a peck of pumpernickle pies!" He blurted out at great speed, impressing (Y/n).

"Ta-da!! I can't wait to talk to everyone!" Gummy cried, dashing from his bathroom, not knowing that (Y/n) was slowly following him.

She turned to her sister one last time, noticing that she'd worked out what (Y/n) was heading to do. She smirked teasily and mouthed 'go for it', watching (Y/n) send her a thumbs up as she slid through the bathroom door.

(Y/n) took a deep breath, seeing Gummy running through his living room. The morning sunlight shone through the large, oval window and brushing against the floor like golden paint. It was as if the day had just restarted, just with the right Gummy in the right dimension.

He was so wrapped up in excitement he didn't notice (Y/n) until she plucked up the courage to say something.

"Here goes..." She whispered to herself, her voice slightly quivering with anxiety.

"Hey, Gummy..."

Gummy stopped in his tracks and turned his body and attention towards (Y/n). He gave her a smile with those half-lidded eyes as soon as he saw her, making her blush lightly.

"Yeah, (Y/n)..?"

"There's something I really need to tell you..."

Gummy came closer, his smile becoming more of a nervous frown.

"Yeah..?"

(Y/n) felt her heart start pumping as if it was beside her eardrums, feeling like they were about to burst with anxiety. Her breath began to shake and her fists clenched the nerves as he sister's words swirled through her thoughts.

'Just go for it'

"So, uh... I've wanted to tell you something for... ages now... and...

'What's the worst that can happen?'

...I like you, Gummy..."

Relief washed over (Y/n) like an emotional tsunami as she slowly opened her eyes that had been scrunched closed.

Her gaze was met with Gummy, a wide smile across his face.

"So like, friends?"

"No..."

Gummy's expression changed to more of a look that showed he was in deep thought. He shifted his gaze to the ceiling, a fingertip against his chin.

"Best friends?"

(Y/n) giggled, reaching out towards Gummy's other hand that swung beside his body, holding it in a gentle grasp. Gummy looked down towards it as he felt her soft touch, watching her fingers intertwining with his.

"No, silly, as in 'like you' like you!"

Gummy looked back up, his blue eyes fixed against (Y/n)'s (e/c) ones, a smile creeping back across his face.

(Y/n) felt his grasp with her hand tighten as his eyelids slid halfway down, his smile becoming more of a smirk. (Y/n) turned away slightly, feeling her face heat up.

'Why's he gotta keep doing that!?'

"I like you, too."

(Y/n) processed what she'd just heard as she quickly snapped her attention back around to Gummy.

"Really?"

"Yeah... I've wanted to tell you for a while now, but it seems like you beat me to it..." He chuckled.

(Y/n) couldn't hold her emotions in any longer, she quickly slid her fingers out from Gummy's grasp, flinging her arms around his neck and burying her head into his shoulder.

Gummy sighed, bringing his arms around her, one hand holding her back and the other gently stroking her (h/c) hair.

He heard (Y/n) quivering breath as he felt her body shivering. He then realised she was crying.

"Hey, hey..."

(Y/n) giggled, raising her head so her gaze would meet Gummy's.

Gummy's worried expression became a content smile as he saw that she was crying from joy, a beaming smile across her face.

He took his hand and gently brushed away a few tears with his fingertips.

"Sorry, I just didn't expect you to feel the same, I guess I am a little surprised... but also very happy, I've been meaning to tell you for so long..."

Gummy gently closed his eyes, softly placing his forehead against (Y/n)'s as she did the same.

Meanwhile, Kala and Harry watched from Gummy's bedroom doorway, their heads poking into the living room and a teasing smirk spreading across Kala's face.

But she also felt very proud of her sister, for taking her advice just going for it.
