I'll tell you. You know I won't ever leave you." You tried to caress his cheek to comfort him only for your hand to goes through him.

Sonic firmly holds you, "You.are.not.leaving.me."

You frowned, "Hey... I'll be fine... I promise..."

Sonic stares at his empty hands, where she used to lay. He clenches his hands and tightly closes his eyes, taking deep breaths. He believes on her. If she says shw is fine she is.

Mangey sat beside him head tilted down, pressing his hand on the grass where she used to lay down, ears pressed on his head.

Gnarly frowned, muttering, "She was a beauty indeed."

The cold night sky was aglow with bright city lights. The pale crescent moon shone like a silvery claw through the heavy clouds. She looked up at the starless sky.

She sighed, "I'm sorry..." She looks down on her gloves.

"Who're you talking to?" A harsh voice sharply pierced through the silent night sky.

She flinches, turning around swiftly, nearly falling off of the building only for Nine to firmly hold her arm and pulling in. Her eyes seated on his worried sky blue ones.

She swallowed, didn't know what to do.

Although there is a very noticeable height difference between them, Nine's metal tails seem to close the gap by holding him up.

"You idiot... Watch your surroundings." He huffs out, body stiff and not letting her hands get near, as he wasn't used to any physical contact.

She relaxes and gives in, doesn't mind that he is holding her arms, he can grasp her arms as much as he wants for all she cares. Exhaling the breath she didn't know holding.

She utters reluctantly, "I thought you hated humans..." voice still shaky, she wrinkles her nose because of how cracked her voice seemed.

He paused before shuffling away from her, gazing at the city and avoiding her presence again. Her arms trying to replace the missing piece, crossing them over her chest. She didn't mean to let those words escape her lips. She ruined something...

"I couldn't just watch you fall to your death."

"Why? You seemed ready to kill me when we first met." She murmured unamuse.

He eyed away with a shrug.

The girl rolled her eyes. "That's not a very good answer, Mr. I-Know-Everything."

He faces her abruptly.

She froze, an endless ache stunning her heart like a thunderbolt at what she sees. Despite his stern face, his eyes the ones betrayed him and he knew it.

A lump sank in her throat at the sight, refusing to let her swallow.

He takes a sharp breath, "I don't know everything." he huffed, voice harsh.

His mouth opens and closes but he chooses to stay silent and turn around, sternly walking away.

Her arms drop to her sides. Just like that--

He stops only for a second to glance back, "I'm glad you are back to your old self because I'm going... It's your choice whether you come with me or not, but I'll never come back here again... I found a... liveably place, where we could call home..." He was glancing at her with some kind of hope shining through his eyes.

"I'll.... think about it." She closed her eyes tightly afraid of the outcome.

That shine dissaperad from his eyes, "Do as you wish... You have time until morning."

She watches him disappear in the dark, brows knitted in twinge.

She stepped forward, couldn't help how misty her eyes became.

She grasps her face, sighing heavily, closing her eyes shut and facing the cold night sky as if doing so would help her.

Nine leans on the wall he was hidden behind, gritting his teeth.

Resting his head against the bricks, he squeezed shut his eyes. Hating the feeling his heart telling him he wants to see her right by his side in their new home.... He didn't wanted to be alone.

His mind screaming it's not true. He don't need her he never did. And he will not be alone. Sonic will be there....

He could see that you didn't like this idea one bit. You can rot in here for all he cares.... but would he?

He slowly ripped himself out of the bricks and glare ahead, like everything was the wall's fault.

Sliding out of there and giving one last glance on her form, he stalked away in silence, eyes cold and glassy, hiding behind his own brick walls he was sure wanted this to continue that way.

With careful and confident steps, he'll be more cautious about the walls he built around himself.

One more day and then he'll be gone from this hell hole.

Y/n exhaled rubbing her eyes, "Okay, fine. I had a nightmare... again."

That image doesn't seem leave his head in peace. No matter how hard he tries, or how much he turns around in bed, he can't sleep.

Tails sigh, finally giving up, he push the blanket and rubs his eyes.

"I don't know... I didn't remember anything after I woke up. Which is really annoying and weird..."

The same thing repeats in his head. His mind seems to not let him sleep, might as well make this useful.

He quickly gets up from his bed leaving his room, closing the door behind him as silently as possible afraid he would wake up his big bro and the human.

Placing the heel of his foot on the path ahead, he gently rolls his foot down until the sole touches the ground and continues the same way walking down the corridor. Ah, there he is again. If he wouldn't hold himself back he would be chuckling. Was Y/n calling this 'The Fox's Walk'? Yeah, that sounds accurate.

Before leaving the corridor he pauses biting his lip, should he check on her? Why would he do such a thing and take the risk of waking her up? He shook his head dismissing the idea as soon as it came. She is fine now, no need to check on her anymore.

He found himself walking inside his workshop, taken in the oily air in, feeling his tense muscles relaxing, and exhaled deeply.

He smiles to himself, opening his arms to the welcoming sight of his inventions.

His smile drops seeing something out of place on the table. He frowns. How could he forget to put them back in? What if someone would find out? What if Y/n would find out? She was the least person he wanted to figure out. It needs to be a surprise after all.

His ear twitches in annoyance. He can't risk it. Not now at least. He quickly approaches the table picking the pair up. He paused.

Looking down on his palm, his sky blue eyes wanders over the gloves.

A weird feeling struck over him.

He stares towards the horizon, his nonstoping brain already calculating everything in his head.

He sits down on his chair flipping the gloves and gently laying them on the table.

Testing them he whispers out the voice activation code.

He wanted the password as simple as possible but not too easy to figure out. He wanted it to be something that anyone who could or wanted to seize power could not anticipate. If something happens to the both of them... someone close needs to be able to figure it out.

"The Ankh" the words escape from his tongue so smoothly, just as quickly his perked ears detect the click sound.

He smiles to himself. The gloves' insides open showing blue glowing electric beams glow with cables, illuminating his face.

He presses something inside and a hologram box appears before his face, a place like password entry.

His face becomes more serious, that's where it always gives an error. Hopefully this time it won't happen or he gotta scrap these pairs too.

A robotic voice fills his ears, "Identify yourself, please."

"My name is Miles Prower. A 13 years old mobian. Species fox. I am your creator. I order you to show me your face... please." He quickly muttered out.

He waits a few anxious seconds for it to reply.

"Audio compatibility verified. Hello Miles."

He repeats himself, "Show me your face."

"I am sorry, I don't think I understand the request."

He sighed, at least it's talking smoothly, why did it take him so much time to finish this thing? It shouldn't have been taking his time this much. There are mistakes in science and mechanics you learn from them and you move forward, but this making him feel like he is stuck in place.

"Explain."

"There is no previous data for me to carry out the command."

He sighed, "I am sure we can make one for you then... I can't believe I forgot to add a physical appearance for you." He mutters, leaning back.

"Tell me your name and purpose."

"My name is 01000110-01110010-01101001-01100101-01101110-01100100 and I am built to serve for you and for the greater good."

Tails felt weirded out, "Alright that's... accurate. In some way."

He opens his supercomputer and starts typing, also connecting the glove into the system.

"We need to change that name and add something she would be more comfortable with. We also need to give you a hologramatic body and..." He paused.

His eyes widened with the name of the folder his eyes stood upon. How could he have forgotten about this project? His eyes shined with glee with a new intelligent idea flashing in his head.

He paused.

Y/n hugged him tightly, shaking her head, "Please, Miles. Promise me you'll no longer bother with this."

He hugs back, exhaling, "Okay..."

The icon of the mouse stood frozen over the folder.

He clicks on the folder without any doubt.

"We will make this right... I promise."

The gloves perk up, "Downloading everything in this folder. Do you wish to continue?"

"Yes." He spoke without any hesitation.

He felt scared only for a few seconds, but it quickly went as fast as it came. When the download finishes, it will be a new era for both of them.

"We are going to call you... Golden."
