trevor's driving wasn't the steadiest. he couldn't keep it in a straight line for too long even if it's on a clear road.
"oh, c'mon! keep it straight!" podcast demanded.
"you try driving this thing." trevor talked back, his eyes kept fixated on the road ahead.
"not all cars are heterosexual, podcast." brooke joked with a straight face.
"LEFT, LEFT, LEFT!" podcast quickly screamed after seeing the ghost turn to the corner and everyone's bodies followed the direction.
"TRAP HIM ALREADY!" phoebe yelled at podcast, starting to get irritated from how long she has to hold it and how long he's taking to trap it.
"alright, here we go." brooke whispered.
podcast, brooke, and trevor count down in unison. "three, two, one- " and they're cut off when they look back in front and see a car about to hit them, all of them shouting together.
trevor immediately started turning the steering wheel, avoiding the car in front of them. phoebe's eyes widened as the car was coming right towards her and just barely, they were able to dodge it. but they lost muncher.
the car stopped in the middle of the road. the group had to take a moment to relax themselves and think-
"oh my God, what just happened?" trevor heavily panted, phoebe putting her gunner seat back into place.
"no time for stopping, YOU IMBECILE!" brooke harshly yelled at him. "HE'S HEADED FOR THE MOUNTAIN, WE GOTTA MOVE, MOVE, MOVE!"
"ALRIGHT! CALM THE HELL DOWN!" trevor quickly started the car again to the road heading towards the ancient mountain phoebe and podcast recently visited.
"closer." phoebe ordered.
"okay..." her brother replied.
"i'm in range..." podcast told them and phoebe was reminded that all of them are now ready.
"rest your fingers, don't move the joystick so much. forward is the only place we're going anyway." brooke suggested to podcast who's fingers were too fidgety on the controller.
"alright, sorry..."
"don't apologize, just do it."
phoebe readies the proton pack's gun, lifting it up and ready to give her best aim 'cause she's not doing this shit anymore. they're all tired.
she fired the gun and it finally wrapped around muncher again. the group felt a wave of happiness wash over all of them, ready to end it. like when a detective's case is coming closer to resolution.
"she got him!" trevor excitingly exclaimed, proud of his sister all over again. "whatever we're doing, we have to do it now!" he reminded them after noticing the bridge coming up ahead.
"come on!" phoebe yelled through the wind blasting in her face.
podcast switched on the button that opens the trap and the ghost finally lowered into the little box.
"whoo!" phoebe cheered.
"YES!" trevor and podcast say at the same time.
"BRIDGE!" phoebe interrupted their celebration, noticing herself coming right in front of the edge of the bridge.
the 3 others started to scream, all of them closing their eyes and phoebe placing the gunner seat back inside. podcast, brooke, and phoebe held tightly onto the car while trevor gripped onto the steering wheel, trying his best to finally stop the vehicle from moving.
the car dramatically turned with the trap diagonally, and a moment of silence occurred until the car was fully stopped and steady.
the gang got themselves out of the car, trevor slamming the door behind him and giving himself a moment to recollect himself of what just fucking happened.
he turned around, seeing his sister approaching. "WHAT WAS THAT!?" he yelled, lifting his hand for his sister to give a high five.
"i think we just caught a ghost..." phoebe said, also in shock after high fiving her brother.
he turned back around, seeing brooke tiringly go around to them from the front. he immediately rushed over, helping her standing properly on her feet by holding her arm.
"you ok?" he panted.
"yeah, i'm okay..." she replied, also breathing heavily. "don't touch me." she snarled, disdainfully shoving his hand off her and heading to phoebe instead, leaving trevor there still confused about how mad she still is at him... and what she was mad about.
"oh!" phoebe grunted as podcast hugged her from the waist and brooke couldn't help but smirk about it.
"you really wanna tell me that's nothing?" she leaned down, whispering in phoebe's ear.
"what- it's just a hug!" phoebe whispered back as podcast released from the hug.
"mhmm..." brooke suspiciously nodded, lifting her head back up.
as she observed the scenery in front of her, she noticed the mountain from afar looking rather familiar, and realized it was the mountain she, trevor, lucky, and her friends went to the other day.
"we weren't we here last night?" she reminded trevor.
"didn't realize you were talking to me again..." trevor pettily replied, keeping his glare on the mountain.
brooke bitchily rolled her eyes. "it's not like i kissed you again." she said at a volume only she and trevor could here together.
trevor, brooke, podcast, and phoebe drive back into town, hoping they wont get in any trouble.
"does any of this bother you?" trevor asked the others.
"what do you mean?" phoebe shifts her head to her brother.
"dude. your grandfather was a legend. you can literally be anything you want." podcast said. "like, an influencer, or a DJ."
"i guess i just thought is was easier when i thought he went nuts."
"he didn't go nuts." phoebe answered her brother, heavily defended her grandfather who is basically her role model now.
"he was never nuts." brooke chimed in. "just crazy. trust me, i'm serious!" she half-jokingly said.
"says the girl who keeps lying and keeping secrets." podcast mumbled, but loud enough for all of them to hear.
"i have nothing to hide anymore. plus, i'm a dumb teenager, i can make stupid decisions too."
"aside from the fact you like trevor" podcast teased.
"would you quit that?" she gritted her teeth, flicking the side of his head with her middle finger and thumb and sighing as she caved into silence with the rest of the group.
as the quietness was just growing, the peace was interrupted by the last sound they all wanted to hear, the sirens of the police.
"oh, no, no, no, no..." trevor panicked, not driving faster because they basically already broke the law but deep inside, he was praying they would be shown mercy. "we're screwed! we're so screwed."
"what do we do?" phoebe questions.
"i say we fight." podcast dramatically insists.
"what? no, just check the glove box." trevor declined immediately.
brooke quickly reaches for the handle of the glove box and everything in there was useless. an expired registration, random papers, and a twinkie that's most likely expired.
"yep, we're fucked." brooke said with a deadpanned face, now embracing the fact that everyone currently sitting in this car is in some way an idiot. phoebe's reckless, podcast is too invested in fantasy, brooke's an emotional trainwreck, and trevor.
the cop from the police car then approached the driver's seat, knocking on the window and trevor had no choice but to roll it down.
"license and registration." he demanded, but they only had an expired registration and no license.
yes, indeed, they were screwed.
