A few moments of struggling over keeping my blanket were all I could manage before I gave in. He didn't do it on purpose, and he was probably colder than I was, even if he would never admit it. With a sigh, I curled up into a tighter ball, trying to conserve as much warmth as I could. The cool breeze nipped at my exposed skin, but I was too tired to care. Besides, it was better than fighting him for the blanket all night.
I glanced over at Pope and Kiara. Kiara had already drifted off, her breathing slow and steady, and Pope was lying on his back, eyes closed, looking far more at ease than he had earlier. I felt a small pang of relief. After everything that had happened, it was nice to see them getting some rest.
I closed my eyes, my body exhausted from the day's events.
