This moment made her realise the strength of men's empowerment, especially in this time when she can't avoid it. Love was rare in these times, but she was already in love with someone she knew she couldn't be with. She knew that she didn't have anyone to help her, despite her role as a Slayer and being a former Samurai in her family.
"The Takahashi family is also of equal status, remember this," Her father reminded her, and placed a hand upon her shoulder. "Best to be respectful, and accept this is your path finally.....alright?"
She swallowed thickly and lowered her eyes, feeling her hands slightly shaking as she hid them within her sleeves. Her blood ran cold like ice, finding it difficult to breath.
"Yes, father," her voice feather-light, and reluctant.
