Slowly my arms were aching from gathering friction between the rope and bark, finding my body overheating. Red hue dusts across my cheeks, as sweat glides down my forehead while my lips part for air, subtly.
"Shit......."
'Must be catching a fever?' I assume to myself.
Squeezing my eyes tightly to ease the throbbing pain, I hear someone jump down and knelt before me. Fluttering open one eye, Bertholdt was kneeling before me with a concerned expression.
"Reiner, she's not looking good," He points out, as he presses two fingers just beneath my earlobe. "A fever perhaps....she's hot to the touch...shouldn't we--"
"We shouldn't worry about it" Reiner quietly says, only earshot to where both of us sat. "She's meant to be strong like that guy who requested her, right? Well, she must endure a little longer."
Bertholdt hesitantly places a hand against my forehead, before his eyes harden.
"I'm sorry," he whispers, with a sincere and apologetic expression.
Not knowing to how to respond to his apology, all I could was dangerously glare right through Reiner's soul. My heart was heavy, with pain, and conflicted emotions that I had to keep in check. Even so, they both were the start of this entire enduring war with titans. They were the ones, that ended my family.
Only their betrayal, makes my heart heavier, knowing I've trained them and watched them grow.
