Plot : Bro is completely whipped for Minji
The summer sun hung lazily in the sky, casting golden light over the quiet park where Kyung-jun and Minji sat together on a wooden bench. The air smelled of fresh grass and blooming flowers, the occasional laughter of children ringing through the warm afternoon.
Kyung-jun sat with his arms crossed, his usual scowl in place, watching Minji with a raised brow as she giggled at something on her phone. He didn't understand how someone could be so effortlessly happy all the time, yet here she wasโhis own personal burst of sunshine.
"Why are you always smiling like that?" he muttered, pretending to be annoyed, though he knew the answer already.
Minji turned to him, her eyes sparkling. "Because I'm happy."
"Tch." He looked away, ears tinged pink. "Annoying."
She only giggled, leaning into him until her head rested on his shoulder. Kyung-jun let out a quiet sigh but made no move to push her away. He never did. She could do whatever she wanted with him, and they both knew it.
"You're so grumpy," Minji teased, reaching up to run her fingers through his hair. The moment she did, his whole body tensedโthen melted. His eyelids fluttered shut for a second as he let out a slow breath, the corners of his lips barely lifting.
"Stop that," he mumbled, but he didn't mean it.
"Nope," she said cheerfully, continuing to stroke his hair.
He didn't fight it. How could he, when her touch made him feel like he was floating? Instead, he sat there, completely weak under her hands, enjoying the warmth of her affection. He was supposed to be this big, scary guy, but when it came to Minji? He was nothing more than a lovesick fool.
After a moment, he shifted slightly and leaned down, pressing a soft kiss to her forehead. Minji beamed up at him, and he felt his chest tighten. God, she was adorable.
"You're all bark, no bite," she teased, scrunching her nose.
He rolled his eyes. "Only with you."
Minji giggled again, continuing to play with his hair as the summer breeze rustled through the trees. They sat there in the warmth of the afternoonโher, a ball of sunshine, and him, her willing shadow, hopelessly wrapped around her little finger.
Minji suddenly shifted, standing up in front of him. "Come on, let's go get ice cream," she said, grabbing his wrist and pulling him up.
Kyung-jun groaned. "It's too hot to move."
Minji huffed, placing her hands on her hips. "Then how are you going to survive the walk back home later?"
"I'll deal with it then," he muttered, leaning back against the bench as if to emphasize his refusal to move.
Minji pursed her lips before an idea sparked in her mind. With a mischievous grin, she suddenly reached out and started ruffling his hair aggressively.
"Minjiโhey! Cut it out!" Kyung-jun grumbled, trying to dodge her hands, but she was relentless.
"Not until you agree to get ice cream with me!" she sang, giggling as he struggled to escape her grasp.
He let out a dramatic sigh, finally grabbing her wrist and pulling her closeโso close that she nearly stumbled onto his lap. Her breath hitched as she found herself caught in his sharp gaze, his hands firm yet gentle as they held her in place.
"Fine," he muttered, staring into her eyes with quiet intensity before pressing another soft kiss to her forehead. "But you're paying."
Minji beamed. "Deal."
And just like that, she pulled him along, their fingers lacing together as they walked through the sun-drenched streets. Kyung-jun complained the entire way, grumbling about the heat, the walking, and how ridiculous she was, but at the end of it all, when Minji happily licked her ice cream and turned to smile at himโhe knew he'd follow her anywhere.
Because, grump or not, she was his sun. And he was hopelessly, ridiculously, undeniably in love with her.
As they strolled down the sunlit street, Minji swung their intertwined hands back and forth, her face glowing with excitement as she enjoyed her ice cream. Kyung-jun, on the other hand, was still grumbling under his breath, pretending to be irritatedโthough anyone with eyes could see he wasn't fooling anyone.
"Why do you always have to drag me around like this?" he muttered, glancing down at her as she took a big bite of her ice cream.
Minji looked up at him with wide eyes, her cheeks puffed from the cold treat. "Because you'd never leave your cave otherwise," she said matter-of-factly, licking a stray drop of ice cream from the side of her cone.
Kyung-jun scoffed. "Maybe I like my cave."
Minji giggled, pulling his hand closer to squeeze it gently. "And maybe I like pulling you out of it."
He sighed dramatically, but the way his thumb absentmindedly traced circles against her skin gave him away. He'd never admit it, but he liked it when she dragged him around like this. He liked the way she never let him slip too far into his own world.
As they reached the park again, Minji suddenly tugged on his hand. "Let's sit here!" she chirped, pointing at a grassy spot under a big oak tree.
Kyung-jun raised a brow. "The bench is literally right there."
"But the grass is softer," she insisted, already pulling him down with her.
With another exaggerated sigh, he let her have her wayโlike he always didโand sat down beside her, stretching his legs out in front of him. Minji, on the other hand, tucked her legs beneath her and turned to face him, her ice cream nearly finished.
For a moment, they just sat there, the sound of rustling leaves and distant laughter filling the space between them. The warmth of summer wrapped around them like a comforting blanket, and Kyung-jun found himself relaxing against the tree, eyes half-lidded as he listened to the gentle hum of Minji's presence.
Then, without warning, Minji reached up and ran her fingers through his hair again.
Kyung-jun tensed for a second before exhaling, his entire body melting under her touch. His head tilted slightly, almost as if he was leaning into her hand without realizing it.
"You really like this, huh?" Minji giggled, her fingers gently combing through his soft strands.
He huffed. "Shut up."
She only smiled, continuing to play with his hair as he sat there, completely at her mercy. He would never let anyone else do this, but Minji was different. She always had been.
In return, he reached out and cupped the back of her head, pulling her closer as he pressed yet another soft kiss to her forehead. It was so gentle, so full of unspoken words, that Minji felt her chest tighten with warmth.
"You're so obvious," she teased, her voice barely above a whisper.
Kyung-jun scoffed but didn't deny it. Instead, he tugged her closer until she was practically pressed against his side, her head now resting against his shoulder.
"Yeah, yeah," he muttered, his fingers lightly tracing patterns on her arm. "Just keep playing with my hair."
Minji giggled, her fingers resuming their soft strokes. "Whatever you say, grumpy."
And so they sat there, tangled together beneath the summer skyโher, all warmth and light, and him, completely and utterly weak for her.
