The night was quiet, only the soft hum of the air conditioner filling the room. Kyung-jun had been asleep for hours, his body sprawled out on the bed in a deep, peaceful slumber. The chaos of their day had finally caught up with him, and he didn't notice when their daughter had started stirring in her crib.

Minji, on the other hand, was just starting to drift off herself when the soft sound of her baby's cries broke through the silence. She groaned, rolling over to glance at the clockβ€”it was past 2 a.m. But the sight of their baby, wiggling in her crib with that soft, innocent cry, made her heart flutter.

"I'm coming, sweetie," Minji whispered softly, rubbing her eyes and crawling out of bed. She stood there for a moment, brushing her hair out of her face, feeling the weight of motherhood on her shoulders. She shuffled over to the crib, picking up their baby carefully, trying not to wake Kyung-jun.

She sat down in the rocking chair next to the crib, gently rocking her daughter back and forth, trying to calm her down. The baby was still restless, rubbing her little fists against her eyes and making tiny, whimpering sounds.

Meanwhile, Kyung-jun, already half awake, turned his head on the pillow, hearing the soft sounds of Minji comforting their baby. His brows furrowed slightly, his instincts kicking in. Without thinking, he pushed himself up from the bed and made his way over to them, his footsteps slow and heavy.

"Minji..." he murmured groggily, still not fully awake, his voice thick with sleep. "Is she okay?"

Minji turned to him, a soft smile pulling at the corner of her lips. "Yeah, just a little fussy. I think she's hungry or needs a diaper change."

Kyung-jun blinked, rubbing his eyes. He stood there for a moment, groggy but already worried. It was clear that the world could fall apart around him and he'd be fine, but the moment his baby needed him? Everything else stopped.

He walked over to Minji, and without a word, sat down beside her. He reached out, gently taking the baby from her arms and cradling her against his chest. His arms were careful, as though he thought he might break her if he wasn't gentle enough.

The baby let out a soft sigh, her tiny hands curling up in a tight fist, before relaxing into his warmth. Kyung-jun felt his heart squeeze at the sensation. This tiny human was his. His love for Minji, for her, was overwhelming.

Minji watched him as he held their daughter, his tired eyes filled with softness as he swayed gently, rocking her in his arms. She couldn't help but smile at the sight. This tough, feared guyβ€”the Kyung-jun everyone knewβ€”was now so tender with their baby.

"I think she's already asleep," Kyung-jun whispered, his voice barely audible. His fingers gently brushed against the baby's soft cheek.

Minji smiled, her heart full of love for the two people who had completely changed her life. She stood up, moving closer to them, and placed a kiss on Kyung-jun's forehead.

"Thank you," she whispered softly, her voice filled with gratitude.

He smiled, looking up at her with sleepy eyes. "Anything for you two," he said, his voice still hoarse with exhaustion.

Minji leaned in, wrapping her arms around him, pulling them both into a gentle embrace. She nestled against his shoulder, the three of them wrapped in warmth and comfort.

Kyung-jun leaned his head back, feeling Minji against him, and their baby sleeping soundly in his arms. He sighed, finally feeling at peace.

As his eyes drifted closed, he realized just how complete he felt.

His heartβ€”for once in his lifeβ€”had found its home in the most unexpected place.

In this small, quiet moment, he had everything he ever wanted.
