Plot : Jealousy is a disease.

β€”

Minji had no idea why Kyung-jun was glaring at her like that.

She was just talking to Jun-hee , one of her classmates, about their upcoming project. Nothing serious. Nothing that should make him look like he was about to punch a hole through the wall.

But there he was, standing by the lockers, arms crossed, jaw clenched, fuming.

Minji sighed, finishing her conversation with Seong-min before making her way over to Kyung-jun. β€œWhat’s with that face?” she asked, tilting her head.

His dark eyes flickered to her, still stormy with irritation. β€œNothing,” he muttered.

She rolled her eyes. β€œOh, come on. I can feel the heat of your glare from across the hallway.”

Kyung-jun scoffed, looking away. β€œYou were laughing too much.”

Minji blinked. β€œExcuse me?”

β€œWith him.” His jaw tightened. β€œYou were laughing too much.”

Realization hit her, and a slow smirk formed on her lips. β€œWait…” She stepped closer, poking his chest. β€œKyung-jun… are you jealous?”

His entire body tensed, and he scoffed againβ€”louder this time. β€œTch. No. Don’t be ridiculous.”

Minji grinned. β€œOh my god. You totally are.”

β€œI am not.”

She gasped dramatically, placing a hand over her heart. β€œKyung-jun, do you like me or something?”

That made him freeze.

His eyes darted to hers, wide and caught off guard, like he had just realized he had walked straight into a trap.

Minji raised an eyebrow. β€œWell?”

Kyung-jun let out a frustrated groan, running a hand through his hair before suddenly grabbing her wrist and pulling her closer.

Minji’s breath hitched. β€œW-What—”

β€œI don’t like watching you laugh with other guys,” he muttered, his voice lower now, more serious. β€œI don’t like seeing them too close to you.”

Her heart skipped a beat. β€œKyung-jun…”

His grip on her wrist loosened, but he didn’t let go. β€œBecause, yeah, maybe I do like you,” he admitted, his eyes locking onto hers. β€œAnd maybe I don’t want to share you with anyone else.”

Minji stared at him, her stomach flipping, her cheeks burning. Did he really just say that?

Then, instead of answering, she leaned inβ€”pressing a soft, lingering kiss on his cheek.

Kyung-jun stiffened. β€œW-What was that for?”

Minji giggled. β€œBecause maybe I don’t want anyone else either.”

For once, Kyung-jun was speechless.

And Minji?

She just laughedβ€”because this time, his jealousy had worked in her favor.

Kyung-jun stood frozen, his brain short-circuiting from the kiss she had just placed on his cheek.

Minji, on the other hand, was thoroughly enjoying watching him malfunction.

β€œW-What do you mean by that?” he finally managed to say, his voice quieter, almost hesitant.

She smirked. β€œI mean exactly what I said.”

His eyes searched hers, as if trying to figure out if she was messing with him. But she wasn’t. Minji meant every word.

The realization hit him like a truck, and suddenly, his grip on her wrist tightened.

β€œYou—” He stopped, inhaling sharply, battling the urge to kiss her right then and there.

Minji giggled at his struggle, her hand sliding up to rest against his chest. β€œWhy do you look so tense?” she teased, her voice softer now.

Kyung-jun was tenseβ€”because he never let himself be vulnerable. He had spent so long pretending he didn’t care, acting gruff and distant, bullying her just to get her attention.

But now, with her standing so close, looking at him like he was the only person in the worldβ€”

He had no choice but to accept the truth.

He exhaled heavily. β€œYou’re really annoying, you know that?”

Minji grinned. β€œYet, you like me.”

His fingers curled around her waist. β€œYeah. I do.”

And before she could tease him again, he finally kissed her.

It wasn’t rough or rushed like she had expectedβ€”it was gentle, like he had been waiting for this moment forever.

Minji melted into him, her arms wrapping around his neck, pulling him closer. The warmth of his lips against hers sent a shiver down her spine, and for once, Kyung-jun let himself be soft.

When they finally pulled away, he rested his forehead against hers, his lips twitching into a smirk.

β€œYou’re mine,” he muttered, his voice low and possessive.

Minji’s heart skipped a beat.

β€œAnd you’re mine,” she whispered back.

Kyung-jun chuckled, shaking his head. β€œI can’t believe I lost to you.”

She grinned. β€œYou never stood a chance.”

And with that, she kissed him againβ€”this time, because she simply could.

The End. ❀️
