Plot :  Seeking for your attention

Oc name : Minji

Minji sat at her desk, eyebrows furrowed as she scribbled notes furiously. The classroom buzzed with quiet chatter, but she was completely immersed in her work, her lips slightly pursed in concentration.

Kyung-jun, leaning lazily against his desk a few feet away, did not like this.

Minji always paid attention to him. Always. Whether it was to scold him for teasing her, laugh at his sarcastic remarks, or roll her eyes at his anticsβ€”he was never ignored.

But today?

Nothing.

She hadn't even looked at him once in the past twenty minutes.

And it was starting to piss him off.

With a smirk, he sauntered over and leaned against her desk. "Hey, Sunshine," he drawled, tapping his fingers against the wooden surface. "Whatcha doing?"

No response.

Minji hummed absentmindedly, still writing, still ignoring him.

His smirk twitched. "You're awfully focused today. What, writing a love letter?" he teased, tilting his head.

Still nothing.

Kyung-jun narrowed his eyes. Excuse me?

Fine. She wanted to ignore him? Two can play at that game.

He reached forward and flicked the tip of her pen.

It wobbled in her grip, and she let out an annoyed sigh, finally sparing him a glance. "Kyung-jun," she said, voice firm. "Stop."

He grinned. Finally.

But then she went right back to writing.

Kyung-jun blinked. Oh, hell no.

He leaned closer, practically resting his chin on her shoulder. "What's so interesting, huh? You secretly writing about me?"

"Go away, Kyung-jun."

His eye twitched.

She didn't even push him away. Just dismissed him like he was nothing.

Now this was a full-blown challenge.

He nudged her chair with his foot. "Hellooo? Earth to Minji?"

She let out another sigh but kept writing.

Kyung-jun's patience was wearing thin.

Okay. Desperate times.

He reached outβ€”and snatched her notebook.

"YAHβ€”KYUNG-JUN!" Minji finally snapped, eyes wide as she lunged for it.

He smirked, triumphant.

"Oh, now I have your attention?" he taunted, holding the notebook above his head.

Minji glared, standing up. "Give. It. Back."

He took a step back, flipping through the pages. "Tsk, tsk. What's so important that you had to ignore meβ€”"

His words cut off when he actually saw what was inside.

It wasn't a love letter.

Or notes.

It was...

A doodle of a cat.

...With his grumpy face next to it.

Minji crossed her arms, cheeks turning pink. "Are you happy now?"

Kyung-jun stared at the little drawing, then at her.

His heart did a weird thing in his chest.

He huffed, shoving the notebook back into her hands. "Tch. It's ugly."

She raised an eyebrow. "Then why are you blushing?"

"I'm NOTβ€”"

"Pfft."

Kyung-jun scowled as Minji finally smiled at him.

Annoying.

But also... kinda cute.

Damn it.

Minji giggled, hugging her notebook to her chest, her eyes twinkling with amusement. Kyung-jun, on the other hand, was still scowling, his ears turning suspiciously red.

"You're so annoying," he grumbled, shoving his hands into his pockets.

Minji smirked. "Says the guy who just spent the last ten minutes trying to get my attention."

He clicked his tongue, looking away. "I wasn'tβ€”whatever. Forget it."

But Minji wasn't about to let him off that easily.

With a playful grin, she took a step closer, tilting her head. "Aww, were you feeling lonely, Kyung-junnie?"

His eye twitched. "Call me that again and see what happens."

"Ooooh, scary," she teased, poking his arm.

Kyung-jun grabbed her finger instantly, holding it captive in his grip.

Minji blinked. "Heyβ€”"

"You're really testing me today, Sunshine," he muttered, voice low.

Her heart did a stupid little flip.

The way he was looking at herβ€”like she was the only thing that existed in the worldβ€”it made her breath hitch for a second.

Then, without thinking, she tightened her grip around his hand.

Kyung-jun stiffened. "W-what are youβ€”"

"You're warm," she said softly, her thumb brushing over his knuckles.

His brain short-circuited.

For once, he was the one getting flustered.

Minji, unaware of the storm she was causing in his chest, simply smiled up at him. "Thank you for the attention, by the way," she whispered before letting go of his hand and walking away.

Kyung-jun stood there, completely frozen, staring at his empty hand like a fool.

...

What just happened?

And why did he already want her attention again?

Kyung-jun stood there for a solid minute, still staring at his hand like it had betrayed him. His heart was racing, and he had no idea how to stop it.

Minji had just... held his hand. Teased him. Smiled at him like that.

And now she was walking away like nothing had happened?

No. Absolutely not.

"Yah, Minji!" he called out, quickly catching up to her.

She turned her head slightly, a knowing smirk on her lips. "Yes?"

He narrowed his eyes. "Don't just walk away after doing that."

Minji blinked innocently. "Doing what?"

Kyung-jun clenched his jaw. She knew what she was doing.

"Youβ€”" He ran a hand through his hair in frustration, taking a deep breath. "Forget it."

Minji laughed. "Aww, is Kyung-jun shy?"

His ears turned red again. "Shut up."

But Minji only grinned wider, thriving off his rare moment of flustered weakness. She leaned in slightly, her voice dropping to a whisper.

"You like my attention, don't you?"

Kyung-jun's breath caught. For once, he had nothing to say.

Minji just giggled, stepping ahead of him. "Come on, slowpoke. You're gonna be late."

Kyung-jun exhaled sharply, dragging a hand down his face.

This girl was going to drive him insane.

And the worst part?

He was starting to like it.
