pleas that were coming from her two best friends. dustin was begging for them not to jump while mike was asking arlo not to. as the both of them approached the edge, it seemed like a breeze had appeared out of nowhere -- almost like nature wanted them to lose their balance and fall into the water below. arlo looked down, seeing that there were shadows casted from the cliff, a buzzing appearing inside of her. almost like she knew there were gonna be alright.

"guys, don't do it!" dustin begged, fighting against troy's hold. "seriously, don't do it, guys! seriously, don't!"

"troy, i don't think this is a good idea, man." arlo heard james whisper from behind her. well, attempt to whisper. at least one of them has some common sense, arlo thought.

"guys, don't!" dustin repeated.

"dentist's office opens in five!" troy announced. arlo and mike shared a quick look before they looked back over the edge and at the water below. "four! three! two!"

"guys!"

"one!"

without another word, both arlo and mike stepped off the ledge of the cliff. dustin had shoved troy off of him, quickly making his over to the edge, the two bullies following him. what they saw sent relief slight through dustin and a mixture of confusion and fear through troy and james. mike was frozen in the air a few feet down from the top of the cliff. suddenly, he started to be pulled back up towards them, yelling and shouting as he did so. he was then dropped to the ground behind them, a grunt leaving his mouth. dustin then remembered that arlo had stepped off as well, making the henderson boy quickly look back over the edge, searching for her. but there was no sign of a body hitting the water below. he didn't even hear a splash. he then saw what seemed like black smoke vanishing into the air, almost like a shadow disappearing because the sun had come out.

where had charlotte harrington gone? shall we find out?

it seemed like arlo was still falling for a few seconds, her eyes screwed shut as she waited for death to grab her. but when the feeling of pain and discomfort never hit her, she opened her eyes. and what she saw confused her. but what confused her even more was that it was like she wasn't even her physical form. . . it was like she was only her conscious. she tried to look around and place where she was at, but it was only darkness. she couldn't even see an inch in front of her. she then remembered what was happening a few minutes ago, immediately thinking of dustin and mike. and suddenly, it felt like her consciousness was moving through the darkness. out of no where, she stumbled out of a shadow that had been casted from another cliff that was taller than the one she had originally been on, the harrington girl falling to the ground right next to michael wheeler. she was back in reality.

"whoa." dustin mumbled, looking at arlo with amazement in his eyes. he had forgotten about the fact that mike had been floating in the air a second ago.

the dark skinned girl felt a prick in her mind, making her look to her left to see a certain telekinetic girl, a glare on her face as she stomped towards them. mike, dustin, troy and james all followed her gaze, all of them not expecting to see the girl. but we know which boys were happy to see her. eleven jutted her chin out, using her powers to shove james to the ground. she then quickly tilted her head to the side, a loud crack echoing through the air as troy screamed in pain. arlo couldn't help but smile when she realized that eleven had broke the boys arm.

"she broke my arm! my arm!" troy cried out.

arlo was the first to realize that james was quickly getting up from the ground, making her jump from her spot next to mike and jump on him. she pulled him back down to the ground before she straddled his waist, quickly grabbing his head with her hands. she looked him right in the eyes, her own eyes getting darker and darker by the second as she racked his brain for his darkest secrets and his greatest fears. dustin and mike watched with wide eyes as they seen arlo's eyes get darker, shadows streaming from her hands as she firmly gripped onto james head. the bully underneath her started to whimper as he froze in his spot, fear coursing through his veins. tears started to well up in his eyes, making a small smile appear on arlo's lips. troy watched in terror at what arlo was doing. suddenly, arlo was back in the shadows, appearing out of them just as fast as she entered them. she reappeared next to mike again, falling to her knees tiredly as blood dripped from her nose.

"go." eleven demanded, her glare still being directed towards troy, who was holding his broken arm.

the bully didn't even bother trying to fight back, going over to snap james from whatever arlo had put him in. james blinked, tears trailing down his cheeks as he looked over to where arlo now was. the harrington girl glared back, her skin pale as she panted tiredly. this was the most she ever used her powers since she got them.

"let's get out of here! let's go!" troy yelled, helping his friend up from the ground before the both of them ran back into the woods.

"yeah, that's right! you better run!" dustin yelled after them, a proud look on his face as he pointed towards eleven and arlo. "they're our friends and they're crazy! you come back here and they'll kill you! you hear me? they'll kill you, you sons of bitches! she'll kill you, you hear me!?"

the sound of a thud grabbed his, mike, and arlo's attention. the three of them turned to where eleven was standing, seeing that she was now sprawled out on the ground. she was in the same state that arlo was in; skin pale, blood dripping from her nose. mike was the first to make a move, running towards the telekinetic girl. dustin helped arlo up from the ground, seeing that she could barely move.

"el? el, are you okay?" mike questioned, kneeling down next to the girl with a worried look in his eyes.

"mike. . . i'm sorry." eleven apologized, her voice breaking as she began to cry.

"sorry? what are you sorry for?" the wheeler boy quizzed as a smile appeared on his lips.

"the gate. i opened it. i'm the monster." el answered the best she could. arlo leaned into dustin as she looked down at eleven, seeing the regret and guilt all over her face.

"no. no, el, you're not the monster. you saved me. do you understand? you saved me." mike told her before he pulled her into a hug.

dustin and arlo shared a brief look, silently asking each other if they wanted to join. dustin quickly but gently lowered the harrington girl back onto the ground before he joined her. the both of them wrapped they arms around mike and eleven, neither one of them protesting. arlo felt extremely exhausted, but she ignored it as she melted into the hug. this was something that they all needed.

i published this 30 minutes ago and just realized that i didn't do a little note at the end. i'm gonna spam this book today and hopes of finishing season one today, but if i don't finish it, i'll update on friday since i don't have work.
