that they were the last two pieces of a puzzle.

After 26 years β€” 324 months, 9,840 days β€” the two had finally been ready for one another. Andy had forgiven himself for his mistakes and guilt, Lux healed from her losses. Those years meant something to them, they had grown, they didn't see each other what they had thought, they had always seen each other as those young teenagers back in high school, who had had their first dance at their school.

Soon, Andy broke off the kiss, completely shocked by his actions. But with one look to the Mycroft, he was met with relief. Lux didn't hold a face of regret or annoyance, but soft bliss with her mouth curling into a smile.
He then hugged the woman, tightly.

He rested his head on her's, holding onto her like he was holding onto the edge of a cliff. Even tears began to form in his eyes, as he processed Lux, and her hugging him back.

For his entire life, he had never thought that Lux had the heavy amount of patience for him, that she could have the patience for him; not that he didn't blame or judged her.
But Lux was a damn saint, she had forgiven him of everything. Of Rebecca, Monty, even herself, she knew he had grown and learned.

He didn't deserve her, he knew he would try his damn hardest to give her everything she did deserve.

Lux lets go of him, saying, "Come on. We gotta go."

"We're ditching your car?"
"It's been compromised, I'd give it a day until they find it."

Rolling his eyes, the two went into Andy's car and started to drive off.
Lux slowly turned up the volume on the radio, looking at the old car she had left behind through the rearview mirror.

The man's eyes drew to the air condition vents in the car and brought his hand to the cold air. He remembered how Lux described how her powers felt, way back when, and from time to time, he'd do it just in memory and habit.

"What are you doing?" The woman questioned.

"Nothing." He brought his hand down automatically.

Lux chuckled to him, making her contagious laugh get to him. As if a miracle, they smiled and laugh like they were teenagers. Maybe in another life, Andy had chosen Lux, maybe in another universe, the two of them had only lived a life where their friendships never went south and even got married. But they were just fine, where they were. They were okay and accepted the growth and love they had for each other.

"Okay, De-Struckto."
"Whatever, Elsa."
