Steve scoffed, shaking his head as he then reached into his pocket to claim the car keys. "Henderson," Steve began, looking across at the two boys the other side of his BMW. "that super walkie of yours better reach Pennhurst." Without another second, the group of us all crammed into the car, with me waiting for the red head to get in after me, while she glanced around outside again.

"Hey?" I poked my head out of the car to look at Max as she looked away in the distance. "You alright?"

There was a moment of silence before her head snapped over to look at me. She slowly nodded, glancing back where she had been looking at beforehand while Steve started the car up.
