"Mmmm..."She hummed. ".....I don't know what happened to you for you to feel this way but I just want you to know that.....Whatever you are feeling will only stay temporarily."
Kota expected her to defend herself with the classic 'Not all heroes are bad' or 'You should have more faith.' He didn't expect her to say anything like that.
"I lost a brother when I was just about your age." She revealed, making him look at her with wide eyes. "There was a fire and.....no could save him....And for a while, I believed that heroes....They couldn't be that good at their job."
Kota kept listening to her story with intrigue and a hint of sadness in his eyes.
"Because if they couldn't bring back my brother....What was the point?" She revealed, looking out at the sunset again. The sun was getting lower. "But I remember what my mom said.....A hero isn't someone who wears fancy clothes or capes.....A hero is anyone you see as a hero......And ever since then, I realized that heroes don't just try to save people, they are the hope when all hope is gone....They are the strength when others are weak and you don't need a fancy name or cape, you don't even need a quirk....You may not be able to save everyone but you can same someone's life......One day at a time."
The little boy's eyes glowed with wonder and amazement as Tomomi turned and smiled at him gently.
"You see, Kota, no one has the capacity to save every single person's life but you can go to sleep knowing you made one person's life a little bit better....and that's something to live for, right?"
