She has despised the brothers so far since they seemed to be arrogant but since she now lived in Tijuana knew that she would see them more often. This made her feel annoyed, and she wanted nothing more but to live in Guadalajara as Miguel Γngel did.
Estella spent most of her time dancing to the rhythm of the music never once caring if the others were watching her. She wasn't drunk yet but was beginning to feel tipsy. She had felt unwanted hands around her waist from several different men constantly slapping them away. Even though the thought of Miguel Γngel was fading away every time, she drank she still felt that for some odd reason it wasn't okay for other men to be holding on to her waist.
"Isn't that the girl that came along with Isabella?" RamΓ³n had eventually caught a glimpse of Estella wildly dancing and instantly recognized her. She knew that the brothers were talking about her, but she didn't care at all remembering they couldn't do anything to hurt her.
"My name is Estella and I would prefer if you called me by my name instead of my description now can you hand me a lighter?" She walked over to where the two brothers sat and sat down herself making sure there was a distance between her and them. BenjamΓn shrugged to his brother and passed her the lighter. Estella lit her cigarette feeling relieved once she smoked it.
"How's your friend?" RamΓ³n teased drinking down his beer. Estella glared at him giving him the middle finger hearing the brothers laugh at her reaction to the question. Suddenly she started to think of Ana and wondered if she was alright after that day and recalled the argument they had.
"She was hot it sucks she had to be a bitch." RamΓ³n again taunted wanting to see more of a reaction from Estella but she knew this was some other tactic to make her seem like she was some emotional girl.
"Yeah but the thing is that "bitch" almost killed you. Now you two can have fun talking about an old situation because I have better things to do like dance some more." Estella faked a smile and stood up to go to the dance floor. The brothers sighed and continued to watch the other girls dancing.
As Estella made her way to the bar, she couldn't help but recognize Sofia and weirdly enough it seemed that there was an argument going on between Amado and Rafa. She began to walk over there to break the fight apart but then heard something else that caught her attention.
"Β‘RamΓ³n suΓ©ltame!" She immediately recognized the voice of Ana's and rapidly ran to the situation.
"Β‘DΓ©jala!" Estella struggled to grab Ana away from RamΓ³n but failed since she was a bit shorter than him.
"Don't come to protect her now. Who told her that she could come to this club?!" RamΓ³n yelled evidently drunk but Estella knew he would do this even when he was sober.
"Estella, I'm sorry I was looking for you tonight and then this asshole grabbed me." Ana explained.
"Tell your brother to let her go. Miguel Γngel wouldn't be okay with this, and you know that." Estella turned to BenjamΓn who only sneers.
"So now the girl knows what FΓ©lix would supposedly want. First she tried to get 20% of Tijuana what's next?" BenjamΓn chuckled also drunk. Estella laughed looking away thinking of what she needed to do to let these troublesome brothers to get the message. She pulled out her gun that she had recently obtained from Isabella as a way to keep her safe when she was alone. She wasn't much of a gun person but had learned to use one even before all of this cartel stuff.
"I said let her go." Estella pointed the gun at BenjamΓn and RamΓ³n who didn't seem intimidated at all by the gun being pointed at them.
"Now she has a gun." RamΓ³n smoked his cigarette laughing with his brother.
"Come on pull the trigger, I dare you." BenjamΓn smoked his cigarette blowing the smoke in her face and began to mock her by doing a gun shape with his hand to mess with her. Estella's grip over the gun was sweaty, and she couldn't help but think that maybe she wasn't made for this life. The thought of shooting someone even these assholes seemed too heartless to do so but before she could make her decision the sounds of gunshots were heard throughout the entire club.
Estella screamed and instantly ducked down next to Ana who was trembling in fear. Estella slowly looked up to see that it was only Rafa and that he was staring down at Amado with hatred in his eyes. She inferred that something had happened between them something that included Sofia but since her sister was nowhere to be seen she couldn't ask.
"Rafa what the fuck?!" Estella stood up with the others watching as Chapo gradually took his gun away not trying to anger him, furthermore.
"Tell your sister to not dance on that fucking asshole." Rafa hissed walking past her and Ana. Estella swallowed the gulp in her throat not understanding everything that had gone on tonight. She glanced at Ana who was paler than a ghost.
"Are you okay?"
"No, I've never seen this happen before. Is this your new life now?" Ana stood up still in disbelief at what had occurred.
"No this does not happen all the time Ana. I've seen some nasty things, though, but I would never go that far like some of them do. I couldn't even shoot those assholes." Estella confirmed thinking about FalcΓ³n's death. It was traumatic, and his death replayed through her head.
"So you're with Miguel Γngel now?" Ana nervously asked the two walking outside the club with the other frightened people.
"Oh gosh no. He's married and although it's been tempting I don't know. It's all confusing and I don't want you to judge me for it. Just know I've missed you and Sofia." Estella smiled at Ana.
"I'm sorry for being judgmental you deserve happiness even if it happens to be with someone I don't agree with. At the end of the day, I will always try and support you, but it sucks you know. You're in a cartel now and the thought of you being arrested or worse makes me feel anxious. Are you sure you have the strength for this?" Ana questioned. Estella thought of her question and agreed that it was a reasonable one too. Being active in this cartel meant that she an easy target for other people to go after her.
"Miguel Γngel seems like someone who would keep me as protected as he can." Estella simply answered. It didn't seem like a very thorough reply but in her head knew that she couldn't even say if she was strong enough for this either. It seemed like she was weak and she hated that feeling especially after telling Miguel that she didn't need a man to be successful.
"I need to go but please keep in contact with me." Ana faked a shaky smile and walked off. Estella stood there thinking of the night and felt herself getting a headache and knew she would be getting a hangover the next morning. Sadly she hadn't completely forgotten about Miguel Γngel and only thought about him some more and wanted to hear his voice again.
She walked to a nearby bench waiting for Isabella to arrive to take her back home. It was late and she desired to sleep. She lit her what seemed to be her 100th cigarette tonight and smoked glimpsing that BenjamΓn and RamΓ³n were in their car about to drive off despite their drunken conditions. They passed by the girl, and Estella couldn't help but to flip the brothers off once again. She didn't like them so far and couldn't wait to meet the others to find someone in this business she liked.
"Aye get in the car Miguel Γngel has been calling like crazy. We need to go home, so you can answer since he demands to talk to you." Isabella sighed assisting Estella inside the car.
"Why is he calling this late at night?" Estella questioned rubbing her temple knowing it was assumably later than 1:00 AM now. He usually didn't call this late, and it seemed to be personal since he specifically asked for Estella.
"No idea he seems aggravated, though." Isabella responded driving away from the packed club. Estella leaned against the cold window and stared at the night sky squeezing her necklace. It had been a long night and maybe hearing Miguel Γngel's voice would make this night fairly better.
After some time she arrived home and changed into some comfortable pajamas. Isabella had gone to sleep by now, and Estella made her way to the vast living room that contained the black telephone in a corner table. She sighed and dialed his number expecting yells or Miguel Γngel requesting for them to do something for him. They hadn't left off on the best terms earlier, so what else could he want particularly this late into the night.
"Hello?" Estella whispered playing with the curly cord of the telephone. Miguel Γngel was in his office with a drink in his hand and thought about what he was going to say.
"What are you doing?" He asked attempting to make small talk like he always did before getting to the main part. Estella laughed hearing his weird question making Miguel Γngel smile.
"Uh it's 2 AM it's not like I'm doing anything crazy. I'm only up because Isabella told me you wanted to tell me something." Estella explained and was impatient to hear what he was going to say. She hated when people didn't get to the main point it made her feel anxious.
"Yeah that's true I guess."
"Excuse my language but cut the bullshit Miguel Γngel what did you call me for? Because I know it's not about what I'm doing." Estella chuckled waiting for his voice once again. Miguel Γngel smoked his cigarette watching the smoke in the air and decided to say what he wanted to tell her.
"I left my wife. Our relationship is over."
