herself getting lost in a daze as she admired him from afar?

Despite how she only viewed him from behind, her eyes were roaming freely over him while he had his back turned. His figure was tall and broad at the shoulders, yet slightly slimmer, and narrower at the waistline than the other men. Clad in a white shirt, dulled and dampened in colour by the rain, presented neatly with a light murky green waistcoat over the top. Her eyes followed down the length of his figure, eyeing his rear for a minute longer than she dared to admit, and further down his lanky legs.

She tugged at the collar of her coat, all of a sudden finding the garment restricting as her face heated up, her face boldly flushed a cherry hue.

"(Y/n)." A voice called, making her jump back to reality.

Spinning on her heel, the girl was faced with Dempsey eyeing her with a stupid smirk on his face. She crossed her arms, sheepishly making eye contact as her face heated up even more when Dempsey's smirk transformed into a small grin.

"You know, for a guy you've just met-" He began.

"Yeah, yeah, save it." The girl hastily cut his words short, huffing in annoyance.

The American's cocky demeanour really grated her... In a strange way that made her cheeks red and heart flutter.

"You oughta get yourself suited up." Dempsey urged.

Wiping a hand over her face, she lazily walked towards the men situated by the supply stash. Nikolai perched on the corner of a large crate, a smile tugging at his lips when she glanced at him as she walked up beside him. She began rummaging around the crate, chewing her lip as she thought to herself.

Nikolai observed her with curiosity and awe. For a girl extensively trained with firearms, one would not expect to see such a delicate touch. She stocked her weapons magazine to its limit, her agility and precision astounding as her movements flowed steadily with each bullet she loaded.

The girl had clocked his attentive stare from the moment she began restocking her weapons, silently pleading Nikolai hadn't noticed the way she had almost fumbled with the bullets between her fingers, almost finding the thought of those gorgeous blue eyes of his, watching her intently to be disruptive.

"You work with absolute precision." Nikolai commented, faintly startling her with his gruff accent.

She met his eyes and for a brief moment the Russian appeared anxious before he babbled again.

"I mean you have very steady hands. Unlike myself-" He mumbled the last few words with a nervous chuckle.

Almost smugly, she hummed. "I beg to differ."

Nikolai gave her a sheepish grin, to which she returned a soft smile.

Just as the atmosphere seemed tranquil, clambering and cluttering emitted from the other room. Startled, the girl spun on her heel, standing bravely with her pistol raised before her, but hesitantly lowering her weapon when a series of curses in German tumbled out in annoyance. She rolled her eyes and returned her gun to its holster.

"The German seems... skittish." Nikolai commented under his breath, although loud enough for the girl to hear.

"You're telling me." She crossed her arms, slouching back on a supply crate.

The Russian seemed to lowly chuckle to himself, causing the girl to raise a brow. She kept her gaze fixated on the doorway in which lead to Richtofen, somewhat expecting him to step out in a flurry.

"Perhaps he is scared you'll threaten him again." Nikolai quipped.

She laughed faintly.

"Well, perhaps he should tell us what we're all doing here." She raised her voice slightly, intentionally for the German to hear.

Her voice caught the attention of the other men present, each of them directing their line of vision to the doorway Richtofen soon stepped through.

The German appeared windswept with his untamed hair, presumably running his hands through it often. Frustration was apparent on his face as his brows scrunched faintly. His sharp eyes fell on her instantly, his gaze virtually scrutinizing her for disturbing him.

Takeo and Dempsey stood somewhat defensively nearby, apprehensive of the German's next move.

"What's going on here, Doc?" The American growled in annoyance, asserting harshness on his medical title.

Richtofen huffed, straightening his posture.

"The state of the universe is facing a collapse." Edward told bluntly, knowing rightfully his explanation was bound to be called out.

He was met with three blank faces, followed by a dramatic eye-roll and unimpressed chuckle from the American. The German glowered at him, and with a huff, continued to speak.

"All of you may want to reconsider your mission-" Edward made a quick, apprehensive glance to the floor. "For it is essential that we move as one, for the sake of survival."

The girl observed the men, noticing that Dempsey was verging on bursting with an interjection for the German, his lips pressed into a line and his fists clenched certainly proved it.

"We're just supposed to take your word on that and get along as friends?" Dempsey's almost growled.

"No." The German clapped back. "I'm expecting you to take my word so that you can ensure that you won't die."

(Y/n) gazed to the floor as she smirked at his blunt comeback.

Richtofen huffed. "There are urgent matters we must attend to, and I can tell you more in due time-"

His eyes darted between the foursome before him, in turn eyeing him sceptically.

"But, trust me, I do not speak lightly when I say that there's a war to be won."
