in horror. "Why would you say that??" She shouted, glaring at their classmate.

Mr. Brunner had gotten into the crowd when Percy was finally regained consciousness. She wasn't sure what to think anymore, she felt like her head was spinning. "Leave some room please." The old man said to the other students who were crowding around Percy. Together Grover and Eurydice helped Percy up, she eyed him with obvious concern. She seemed more shaken up than he did, as she was currently trying to regain her composure and make sense of the weirdest that she hair saw.

That couldn't have been a hallucination, right? It seemed so real... so vivid that it couldn't be real. Monsters weren't real, but Mrs. Dodds had turned into a gargoyle lady and said adios as soon as that sword pen thing Percy used had stabbed her! How did his pen turn into a sword? Is that even scientifically possible?! What is going on today. "What happened?" Percy said in confusion, still sounding disoriented from having passed out.

She noticed that was some new older lady next to Nancy comforting her. But she didn't recognize the woman at all. And it couldn't have been her mother because they were on a field trip. What was going on today? Did the universe just decide to torment her today and confuse her beyond her comprehension. Seriously, what did she do to deserve that. Maybe she really was going crazy. She faintly wondered if Percy had seen it too, right! If he had remembered it then surely she wasn't going crazy.

Percy looked around in confusion. "Where's Mrs. Dodds?" He asked Mr. Brunner in confusion. "She was just here!" Eurydice nodded in agreement, looking around frantically in disbelief. Mr. Brunner ushered the other students away as Grover stood beside him. "Everyone, go back to your lunches. It's alright, Percy just needs a moment, that's all." She watched the other students leave as she looked back at Mr. Brunner.

Percy seemed relieved that she had remembered Mrs. Dodds too. "Yeah, where's Mrs. Dodds?" He said again in confusion. Mr. Brunner and Grover exchanged a look, now looking at the two of them in concern. "Percy, Eurydice there's no one here by that name." He muttered as Grover shook his head at the two of them. "Wait what?" Percy muttered in confusion. "But Eurydice saw-" He was about to defend himself by saying that she had seen it too. But Grover and Mr. Brunner looked at the both of them like they were crazy now.

She was confused. What happened? None of this made any sense! Percy seemed to be thinking the same thing, but he didn't speak again. Too stunned to form another sentence. "All right, class let's move along. Let's go. Finish your lunch." Mr. Brunner instructed their classmates, as Grover walked away from them too. Which only left Percy Eurydice staring at each other in absolute shock and confusion. If they were both going crazy, at least they were going crazy together.

IT WAS only a day later that they were in the headmaster's office being prosecuted about what happened that day with Nancy and the fountain. Eurydice and Percy hadn't talked about what had happened, but they had an unspoken agreement not to tell anyone what they saw in fear of being called crazy or being seen as even more weird. She knew that Percy didn't touch Nancy, but she didn't know how Nancy had gotten into the fountain.

She could feel her palms sweating as she nervously sat in her seat next to Percy and Grover in front of the headmaster. So now here they were, the headmaster of Yancy Academy scolding them for not telling the truth, when in reality the truth was way too unbelievable to say outloud. "The truth. Can be very hard to determine. But in this case, the truth seems very hard to deny. Mr. Jackson." The Headmaster turned over to look at Percy who didn't seem to back down from his claim of not having touched her the redhead.

Eurydice swallowed down her anxiousness with a wince of nervousness. The Headmaster continued. "A number of your classmates saw you, Ms. Ramirez and Mr. Underwood arguing with Ms. Bobofit. Yet you have offered no explanation for how she ended up in that fountain, other than uh, 'I didn't touch Nancy' Now. Is there anything you'd like to say for yourself?" He asked him, sounded displeased with his apparent lying.

It seemed like the Headmaster had already decided to take Nancy's side, so none of this was looking good for them. Percy only replied back simply. "I didn't touch Nancy." He said as honestly as he could have, frustrated at not being believed. The older man only sighed in response. "Okay. Mr. Underwood, Ms. Ramirez. Do you two have anything to add?" The Headmaster asked the two sitting next to the apparent offender.

Eurydice shook her head timidly in response. "No, sir." She muttered with a shake of her head. "Only that, I don't know what I saw that day. But Percy didn't push her." The Headmaster looked at her in disbelief. "And what proof do you have of that young lady?" She began to sweat slightly. "Well- I-" She stuttered slightly. Grover interrupted her quickly. "I have something to add." Her mouth went dry all of a sudden, a tight feeling in her stomach as she stared at Grover in confusion.

The Headmaster suddenly looked interested. "Go on." He muttered. What was he going to tell the Headmaster? She saw Grover hesitantly answer the man. "Percy had told me earlier in the day that he wanted to get back at Nancy for all she's done to us." He blurted out quickly as she and Percy looked over at Grover in confusion. "And Eurydice agreed." Grover finished, like it had pained him to say that.

"Grover?" Percy's eyes went wide in disbelief and confusion at what their best friend was doing. Her eyes went wide in horror as she realized what Grover was doing, he was ratting them out. Grover continued before he lost his nerve. "And he isn't being truthful about what happened at the fountain. Eurydice was trying to cover up for him." He told the Headmaster, who looked surprised at these turn of events."Grover!" Percy said again in desperation for his betrayal not to be true.

Eurydice stared on in shock. "But that's not true! Groverβ€”" The Headmaster interrupted her before she could deny Grover's words. "Excuse me, Are you saying that you saw Mr. Jackson assault Ms. Bobofit? And Ms. Ramirez aid him in it?" Grover swallowed hard, avoiding their eyes guiltily. "Yes, I did." He said, staring straight at the Headmaster and not at them. "What? But she didn't even do anything!" Percy said in disbelief.

Percy shouted in frustration, continuing his sentence. "Eurydice has nothing to do this. sir! I swear!" He said desperately to their Headmaster, not wanting her to go her down with him. Her eyes were wide in shock, completely confused as to how she got into this mess. The Headmaster shut Percy up with a look. "Mr. Jackson, you and Ms. Ramirez are expelled. You hear me? We do not tolerate assault at Yancy Academy." The older man said to them coldly, finally done with Percy's attitude.

That was probably the first time that she's ever been kicked out of a school. Apparently aiding in an assault was something you could get kicked out for. And this was the first time she had ever been unintentionally involved in a fight in her life, and it was not a great feeling. Now she just felt even worse as she held her luggage close to her chest. She sat right next to Percy on the bench while they waited for their ride.

Percy looked at her with an apology immediately at his lips. "I'm sorry that I got you involved in all of this. You didn't do anything.." He muttered in frustration. As she shook her head at him with a frown. "Hey, I mean. It's not your fault. It wasn't any of our faults." She muttered quietly, the answer of whose fault it truly was hanging in between the two of them. But they didn't wanna say it. Percy sighed. "I'm sorry that I dragged you down with me. I know you've never gotten kicked out of school before, like me." He muttered to her, sounding ashamed of himself.

She shook her head at him again, and did her best to make him feel less guilty about being expelled. "Percy, don't say that. At least we're in this together. Right?" She tried to replicate a reassuring smile, but her lips only upturned into a strained one. He smiled softly at her despite her the strained smile. "Yeah, I guess so." He murmured quietly as he sighed again. "I don't know. I just thought... things would be different this time. Having you and Grover here." He had a faraway look in his eyes as he said this.

She nodded silently. "Right.." She muttered under her breath. While the two were wallowing in their self-pity Mr. Brunner appeared to say goodbye to them. "None of this is easy. Not for you, not for any of us. I'm very concerned about you, Percy." She looked at Percy in even more worry at this. She didn't realize he was struggling this much, but maybe she did. And she was just too caught up in herself to notice. Which left a horrible feeling in her stomach.

"I saw what happened at the museum." Mr. Brunner looked at Percy, who clenched his jaw in frustration as he muttered. "I didn't touch Nancy." He insisted in exhausted frustration. "I know you didn't." Mr. Brunner said back to him with a sigh. "At least, I know you think you didn't." The old man finished.

He looked over at her and Percy suddenly. "Do you want to tell me what you think did happen? You can tell me. I might just understand. You saw something too, didn't you Eurydice?" He asked the two kids in concern. She went quiet suddenly, she nearly thought about telling him. But that would make her and Percy seem even more insane. "Wanna bet?" Percy muttered to their now former teacher.

The old grey haired man shook his head at the two. "I've seen a lot of young people go through this sort of thing in my time." He reassured Percy, repressing a sigh. "But of all of them, I suspect that... you might have the most difficult journey, Percy. I suspect that you are special. So much more so than you know." She heard Percy answer in anger. "Just... stop. Okay? I don't need any more stories about how special I don't realize. They aren't helping." He glared at Mr. Brunner as he impulsively stood up.

She rubbed her friend's arm in sympathy as she watched him get up. "This is my ride. I'm going home. I'll see you later Eurydice." He sighed, his voice going soft as he said goodbye to her. He grabbed his stuff with him as he left, leaving her alone with Mr. Brunner. She waved awkwardly at Percy as the vehicle he got into drove away.

She stared awkwardly at Mr. Brunner as he wheeled himself towards her. "Do you mind?" The man offered her a way out of this conversation. But she didn't mind speaking with him one last time, she felt slightly bad about what Percy had said to him though. Even if he had been a little right about the whole special thing. If you heard how special you were all the time hearing it more and more wouldn't make you feel better at all. It'd only make you more resentful.

She smiled at the man. "I don't mind." She said to him with a hesitant look as he faced her. "I see that Percy has already decided that he won't be hearing me out. But what about you?" He asked her with a look of concern. She bite down on her lip slightly. "Well.. I don't think that hearing you're constantly special is a good thing. But.. I don't know what to think." She muttered as she anxiously tapped her fingers against the wooden bench.

The older man hummed in thought. "I see." He muttered thoughtfully as he looked at her. "Your journey may be a tough one too, Eurydice. But I hope you're willing to persist. There are much better things for you, and Percy out there." He smiled at her like he knew everything would turn out okay for her, even if she didn't know herself. It was oddly comforting to hear it from her favourite teacher even if she was terrible at the subject he taught.

She stared off deep in thought as the man continued. "But I am sure, just like Percy. You will figure it out. I can only expect the best from you, Eurydice. Someday you'll understand why." He said ominously, as she stared at him in confusion. "I'm not even sure what that means." She mutters completely unsure of herself, as the man chuckles. "Someday you'll understand. Oh, and hold onto this for me, will you?" He handed her a small purple keychain. She took it from him hesitantly. "Huh..." She muttered to herself.

Mr. Brunner smiled at her softly. "Consider it, a parting gift." He said wisely. "You'll be needing it later." Before she could ask him any more, her mom was there to pick her up. "That's my ride." She grabbed her backpack and bag with her as she opened the door to the car. "Bye Mr. Brunner." She waved at the man as he smiled at her knowingly, what she didn't know was that this was only the first of the strange things that would happen to her.

Alternate title; percy and eurydice get gaslighted for a whole chapter. They are so convinced that they're going crazy, but at least they're going crazy together 🫢 They're so chaotic i love them very much. Grover betrayed them but it was for a reason I swear πŸ’”πŸ’”

Fun fact that why Mr. Brunner isn't putting a lot of focus into Eurydice earlier is cuz they don't know who her godly parent is so she's not at the forefront at this point and I didn't want to steal percy's thunder. I can't wait to introduce annabeth later on fr. This is a slow burn fic cuz they're all children rn, so be prepared ‼️

Little do they know that they really aren't going crazy. Hehhe. Little Eurydice my poor sweet girl has the worst overthinking ever and I hope I wrote that well enough so that part of her character is clear. I really hope I fleshed out her personality well enough this chapter since I wrote this all in one go. And ofc lemme know what you think about this chapter <33
