"I need time," she said finally, her voice firm but not unkind.
Elijah inclined his head, the faintest flicker of disappointment passing over his face before it disappeared behind his usual calm. "Take all the time you need," he said gently.
She nodded, and before she knew it, he was gone. She couldn't shake the feeling that the thread he'd spoken of wasn't just some abstract idea. It was real, tangible, tugging at something deep inside her.
And she could almost feel it as he left. No matter how far either of them walked away, she knew it would remain.

some interesting developments in this chapter. rose is goneπ’i may have shed a tear or two while writing that scene. also, elijah told amalie how he knew her !!! and if you haven't figured it out, antonia is a character i made up. i wanted the mikaelsons to at least have someone that was in their corner. the whole "soulmate spell-thing" will be expanded on in further chapters though, don't worry
