"What was going through your mind when  you killed your family's pet." Ben looked up to see Mae focusing on something behind with a smile on her face, before she stood up from the couch and stretched her muscles.

"Your hour is up." She nodded towards the grandfather clock. Then, it was all clear. Mae hadn't been talking because she wanted to open up for the sake of her father and grandmother.

She was just trying to waste time. Mae didn't want help, at all. They were indeed playing a game, and unlike what Ben though, he had just lost.
