"Are you wearing makeup?" his deep voice said startling me.

"Makeup? Ha! No way, I'm just trying to make my face look a little less scary?" I said chuckling.

"Scary? Sunshine, you look perfectly alright. I love the stars on your face the most. They make you shine more. Although, I don't want the world to gape at you, I don't want you hiding them from the world either." he said with all the seriousness, while his fingers traced the acne scars on my face and his deep brown eyes held me hostage, ultimately making me surrender.

"You're quite the charmer, do you know that Ryder?" I said, my voice barely above a whisper.

"Only for you, Dahlia." he whispered back.
