SODA

ARTIST NOTE:
The world of elements is a sureal nightmare. SODA is a story about LIGANDS: charged or neutral molecules that form coordination compounds with Metals. Coordinate bonds form between electron pair donors (ligands) and electron pair acceptors, the metal atoms or ions.

I'll put it this way...Coordination complexes are probably the closest a Metal/Non-metal bond can get to being covalent (shared). though even that depends...some are very strong, others not so much X3

Anyhow, in cartoon form they are the equivalent of putting bows in your hair...enormous pixie-like monstrous bows, oh...and your "hair" is anywhere they feel like sitting!



STORY:
D-Block (where the transition metals are) is fortified to keep oxidizing agents out, or to quickly dispose of them if detected. Non-metals that want to do their thing take on mimicry to lure the(ir prey) citizens. SODA is about one such mimic; a soda machine that dispenses anionic (negatively charged) compounds instead of beverages. Which of our cast will be fooled?
