After her mother passes away from cervical cancer, nineteen-year-old Iyla Watson is battling her way through the grief, as well as seeking treatment for her ongoing depression.

She feels as if she's drowning and no one can save her. Until a twenty-one-year-old Rudy Harrison appears suddenly and teaches her how to swim.
