Of course she's nervous. She was feverish and delirious and did something dumb she didn't mean. How could he be so stupid as to think it meant something?

He sighs inwardly and decides not to make things harder for her. He plays dumb. "What happened? What did I do?"

Her mouth opens and closes soundlessly, like she can't tell if he's lying or not.

"You saved me," she says finally. "Thank you."
