Both women know that Ava's true thoughts are irrelevant. Her willingness, even less so.

It's simply Magda extending the illusion of choice to her. In reality, there was never any choice to begin with. If Ava is commanded to eliminate Spider-Man, it's her responsibility to carry out that directive, without question or hesitation.

"No," Ava responds, her voice unwavering.

"Can you kill Spider-Man, Ava?" Magda presses.

"Yes, Superior Magda," Ava replies, her voice unchanging.

Magda allows a slight curl of her lips, satisfied at last.
