Saori Fujiwara, a Japanese photographer, is running a new project. She will take 36 views of Berlin's TV Tower through the eyes of different communities of Berliners. Not afraid of clichés, she genuinely wants to show the city as it is really seen by the people living in the German capital. Following the photographer, her assistant takes notes of what is happening during the photo shoots and more and more about what's happening to them. The notes ask the century-old question: Can you separate the art from the artist?"Berlin decided for us. Our last picture will be on Karl-Marx-Allee from one of these iconic buildings of the communist regime, giving the TV Tower her intended effect as the center of DDR's perfect capital city. I'll take a picture that could have been taken long time ago when the Fernsehturm had just been built. It's fitting I guess, that's a good way to finish our project." Saori was trying to find a logical justification for this shooting to be the last, like it was intended like that. It was clearly not planned but somehow, "Berlin decided for us..." I really thought that it was a whole load of bullshit but she looked happy, the weather was nice, we were arriving at the conclusion of Fujiberg so I kept my mouth shut and smiled.…
