Certamente vi starete chiedendo quale sia stata la motivazione principe che mi ha portato a scegliere come argomento di discussione "I Guerrieri di Dio: Templari tra realtà e leggenda." In realtà i motivi sono molteplici innanzitutto volevo qualcosa che mi rappresentasse, non volevo farla su un argomento qualsiasi, fornito dal docente, come se io non fossi essere pensante. La scelta è stata davvero ardua poiché possiedo interessi davvero disparati ma che si possono dividere in due grandi filoni quello di carattere storiografico e quello fantasy che all'interno della facoltà potrebbe essere rappresentato dalla letteratura dell'infanzia. In campo storiografico gli argomenti in ballo erano: la storiografia dei Templari, dei Samurai, dell'oriente in generale e del Karate. Per quanto riguarda la letteratura dell'infanzia gli argomenti erano le leggende del Graal, i Vampiri, le streghe e le fiabe.Mentre riflettevo su quale argomento fare la tesi uscì il libro di Dan Brown "Il Codice Da Vinci"; lo lessi e mi piacque pure, e a questo punto la domanda atavica, che mi ero posta anni prima quando lessi il romanzo di Giuseppe D'Agata "Il ritorno dei Templari" è più realtà o leggenda ritornò più preponderante che mai, decisi quindi, che era giunto il momento di darle una risposta. In effetti fu proprio il romanzo di Giuseppe D'agata a far nascere in me l'amore per i Templari e il Templarismo. Già perché a scuola non si parla mai in modo approfondito delle crociate e neppure degli ordini cavallereschi, li si nomina senza dar loro troppo importanza. Forse è per questo che il Templarismo prende piede e trasmissioni televisive come Voyager hanno un enorme successo. Siccome il Templarismo è immenso, ho scelto come filo conduttore le leggende del Graal. Così facendo ho potuto assemblare in un'unica tesi i miei due filoni d'interesse quello di carattere storiografico e fantasy e scrivere di un argomento che mi interessava davvero.
