Many years ago, when I used to play AD&D, I loved the Cleric character. I spent a long time creating a whole religion worshiping the god, J'Mhil. (The i should have a ^ over it, but I don't know how to do it on my keyboard!) The religion was specifically designed to seem insane to other players, but of course, it granted the character special powers which were balanced by restrictions to avoid a biased over-powerment. One example was a bottomless beaker of orange juice which could heal each character once per day. But if the character drank from it a second time, it would be just a tasty fruit juice. This meant that the Cleric could save their healing spells for emergencies. However, to offset this, the Cleric could not wear armour as they had to show the support for J'Mhil by wearing His colours at all times. It meant that unlike normal Clerics, these guys could not become front line fighters when required.Romany was an Acolyte of the church, frequently on missions to spread the name of J'Mhil with the chant "Awref!" and blowing her holy whistle. As you can see from the picture, Romany is quite plump and being so curvy, she not really the sort of girl you would expect to see in a group of adventurers who rely on strength and dexterity, both of which she only has as average attribute scores. However, she is very popular due to her high charisma, and the total devotion to her faith make her a fearless and much respected ally for every group that she has helped.I have borrowed her character and used it as part of a fantasy series I am writing, and as a prelude I have uploaded her background story.
