paper lid, grabs a fork, stir them together, and eats some. At Saint-Jacques Elementary School, the lunch bell rang and all the kids head back to class. Ms. Myers erased the math problems and write down Social Studies on the board, then she heard the door opened and see the students coming back from lunch. *

Ms. Myers: Welcome back, everyone. Please sit back in your seats. *Everyone sits back down in their seats and looks at Ms. Myers. * I hope you all had a good lunch, now it's time to get back to learning time. Today for social studies, we will learn about what people do in countries like what their culture is and how people celebrate in their culture because not everyone can do the same thing as us, that's called Cultural Celebration. And Cultural Celebration is the enjoyment with regards to the awareness, revival, restoration and promotion of local cultural practises. This also includes the recognition of the tangible and intangible attributes of all indigenous groups, minorities and social traditions. For example, who can tell me what main holiday we celebrate?

Peyton: (raised her hand) Bastille Day.

Ms. Myers: That's correct, Peyton. We celebrate Bastille day and Bastille Day is when it commemorates the day that Parisian commoners and peasants stormed the fortress and prison of Bastille. And who knows when Bastille Day is on?

Ivan: (raised his hand) July 14th?

Ms. Myers: That's right, Ivan. Bastille Day is on July 14th. We say "Bonne Fete" in Bastille Day, we don'r formally say Happy Bastille Day like any other holiday people do their greetings.

Aria: What does Bonne Fete means?

Ms. Myers: Bonne fete means Happy Holiday.

Aria: Okay.

Ms. Myers: Now there's another culture holiday out there like Christmas, you're all familiar with that holiday, right? *Everyone answered yes to Ms. Myers. * Good, glad you all know that Holiday. Now to the next cultural tradition in Europe. *She writes down different Holiday traditions on the board and explains to them some more on them. *

Back at the College Francoise DuPont, in Mrs. Jones' class the whole class went through the four questions on the assignment she handed out.

Ms. Jones: Number 1: The three states of matter (Solid, Liquid, and Gas) depends on what? Who has the answer to number 1? *A few students raised their hands. * Quinton, what do you got?

Quinton: They depend on pressure and temperature conditions.

Mrs. Jones: That's correct, Quinton. You all got that? *Some answered yes, some answered no. * Good for those who got it, and the ones who didn't get it, we'll work on that more. Now number 2: To change states of matter (to go from solid to a liquid, or a liquid to a gas) all you have to do is... who got the answer? *Mylene raised her hand. * Yes, Mylene?

Mylene: Is it melting?

Mrs. Jones: Correct. Melting is the answer. Ice is an example, ice is solid, when you leave ice out, it starts to melt, which turns it into liquid. But when you put ice in hot water, it goes from a liquid to a gas.

Nino: Good example.

Mrs. Jones: Two more questions and they are true or false questions. Number 3: When a gas turns to a liquid, it's called evaporation. Is that a true or false statement? *A few students raised their hands. * Samantha, what do you think?

Samantha: The answer is false.

Mrs. Jones: That's correct. The answer is false, why do you think it's false?

Samantha: It's the reverse process. Liquid turns to gas which causes evaporation, while when gas turns into liquid, that's called condensation.

Mrs. Jones: Good explanation. Gas to liquid is condensation and liquid to gas is evaporation. We will explain more on what state of matter turns to on Monday before your test on Tuesday. Now to the final question: The freezing point is the temperature that a liquid turns to a gas. Is this statement true or false? *Alya raised her hand. * Yes, Alya?

Alya: The answer is false.

Mrs. Jones: That's correct. The statement is false, why?

Alya: Because as with the melting point, increased pressure usually raises the freezing point. The freezing point is lower than the melting point in the case of mixtures and for certain organic compounds such as fats.

Mrs. Jones: Okay, partly true. Anything else?

Alya: The freezing point is where the liquid gets turned into a solid.

Mrs. Jones: That's right. You all got the answers down? *Everyone answered yes to Mrs. Jones. Soon, the bell rang. * Before you all leave, turn in the slips and I'll grade them and hand them back to you all on Monday. You may leave now. *They all gathered their stuff, turned in their slips, walked out of the classroom, then headed to the cafeteria for lunchtime. *
