lower to the floor.
"Okay... Which way is the Nurse's Office? I'll bring her there."
"I can come with you," Mio offers.
"It's fine. You can cool down in the room and think of a way to deal with the whole 'Yui is allergic to air conditioning thing."

The girls tell me the way to the infirmary and I wrap Yui's arm around my neck as support. "C'mon," I say.
"Giita..." She groans.
"Giita will be awaiting your return. Now let's go."

I practically drag Yui through the school. A lot of girls gave both confused and concerned looks. I can't blame them. I guy in an all-girls school dragging the equivalent of a corpse around. Not something you see every day, that's for sure.

I knock on the door to the infirmary and the nurse opens the door. "Oh, that doesn't look good," is the first thing she says. "Quick! Place her on the bed." I do as she says and I heave the groaning girl onto the bed. "How did this happen?" She asks as she takes out a thermometer.
"She's allergic to air conditioners," I inform her.
"Poor girl." The nurse sympathizes. "She comes here at least twice a week with some sort of cut or bruise on her. Honestly, she's extremely clumsy."
"Oh, I've noticed." I chuckle.
"So, what's your name?" She asks me as she glances at the thermometer. "We don't get a lot of guys here. Unless it's at the culture festival that is."
"L/N," I tell her. "I'm technically a part of her club."
"Music buddies, are we?" She sets the thermometer back down.

"Well, she has a fever — not that there was any don't about that. What you'll have to do is-" She's interrupted by a girl in a judo uniform barging into the room.
"Hikari sprained her ankle during a sparring match!" She shouts. "You need to help her." The girl pleads.
"O-okay, I'm on my way. And please don't bust down the door. Someone's attempting to get some rest."

"Oh, sorry, Miss."
"Let her rest for a bit. I'll be back to check on her in a bit." She tells me as she leaves the room with the girl.

"Giita..." Yui groans.
"He's in the clubroom," I tell her.
"Thirsty..." She mutters.
"Do you want me to get you a drink?" Yui nods. "Okay. I'll be back."
As I get up to leave, she grabs my arm. "No..."
"I thought you wanted a drink?" Yui stays silent and hesitantly lets go of my wrist.

I exit the room and approach one of the nearby vending machines. I slip in my money and grab a bottle of water to bring back with me.

"Sit up," I say as I pass the water bottle to her. She uses her hands to hoist herself up and takes the bottle from my hands.
"Thank you," She says. She makes a few valiant attempts but is ultimately unable to unscrew the cap.
"Do you want me to do it?" Yui hands me the bottle and I unscrew it for her, passing it back to her.
"Thank you again," She downs the bottle in no time, spilling some of it down her chin.

"Sorry about this," She says.
"Don't apologize," I tell her. "You got sick. I would be a jerk if I just left you there." Yui doesn't reply.

"How are you feeling?"
"Dizzy... Tired... Hot..." Yui starts to list her symptoms.
"Do you need anything else?" I ask.
"No thanks," She replied.
"The nurse said you need to get some rest." Yui nods and lies back down in the bed. "I'll be here if you need anything else." She tries to reassure me with a smile before closing her eyes.

I watch as she slowly drifts off. She looks peaceful somehow, despite her sickness. It's quiet as well. The only sound is Yui's soft, rhythmic breaths. I sit there and guard Yui until it's time to leave.

This chapter took a while to come out, and that's because I wasn't exactly happy with it. I changed the draft a lot more than I have for other chapters. I eventually forced myself to push through and just upload a chapter no matter what I thought of it.
