Nudging him Derek looked back and forth between him and the girl asking with his eyes if she was his crish and he nodded. Derek could see that she liked him too, he was just confused as to why Travis couldn't see it. But he hoped soon he would overcome that fear of rejection and continue to make progress in his growth, he had a lot of faith in him, he could see his was a good kid who just simply needed someone to talk to from time to time.
Entering the gate Cali carried Adrian on her hip with Ahmad's parents walking in behind her. "We're finna go to the concession stand then head to the field, you want me to take him?" Aaron asked and she nodded passing him over.
Scanning the park Cali was looking for Kamry and Alisha, she needed to vent and she only trusted them with this type of things. Finally spotting them sitting in chairs, she walked over taking a seat in the vacant one. "Hey boo, we was wondering where you was at?"
"Adrian had an accident so I had to drive back home and clean him up."
"My poor baby, he just can't control it sometimes huh?"
Cali nodded, "Yeah, he's gonna have surgery soon though .. we been saving up for it so my baby has been having to suffer."
Almost six or seven months ago, Adrian was diagnosed with Fecal Incontinence. In other words meaning that he can't hold his bowel movements, or he's constipated alot or has diarrhea very often more than an average child should have but luckily it is curable.
"That's good, Nolan is finally feeling better we found out he's allergic to Bactrim so the doctor gave him another anti-biotic and his fever is gone and he's back to himself." Alisha smiled happily.
Cali couldn't help but smile either at the news since she knew Alisha was starting to assume something worse was wrong with Nolan. "Yes, look at God. I know Shaun is happy."
"Yeah he is, girl we didn't know what was wrong with him but I'm so glad it was something minor and not serious."
"Yeah true, I really needed that good news though .. ever since this weekend I've just been in a mood." Cali admitted lowly.
Leaning forward Kamry frowned, "What happened this weekend? Catch me up on the tea."
Alisha sipped from her tea, shaking her head. "Girl alot happened, so at the club we met these two gay dudes and they really showed us a good ass time so by the end of the night we're all completely drunk off our asses and they decided to play this game called, Take it to the Grave. Where you pretty much tell a secret no one knows about, that you would have to just take it to the grave with you. Fuck they do that for? I don't know, anyway so Cali admits to leaving Marquette in Walmart for two fucking hours not sure how but she gets the mother of the year award for that shit," She joked earning a hit on the arm from Cali who laughed.
"Fuck you, I was on the phone with your dumb ass and I thought he was in the car but his little ass was up in Walmart in the toy section having a ball."
Alisha waved her off, "Anyways so like I was saying .. I had admitted to being a hoe then Anari admitted to fucking Chris's bestfriend before they got together and we all know Ahmad is his bestfriend so yeah you get my point in that and then Hazel admits to having an abortion behind Dereks back and after that the night was just ruined."
Kamry sat there shocked, "Got damn, I hate I had to miss that. Well have you spoken to Ahmad about it yet?"
"No, I feel like I would look foolish bringing up something that happened before me. But it does make me feel a certain way that haven't said anything to either Chris or I about it."
"I personally think you need to just drop it, I mean you guys are married now and she's in love with your brother. It would just cause a problem for no reason." Kamry said and Alisha nodded.
"I agree, I mean yeah I'd feel some way too but then I'd take a moment and reflect my life. You guys are married, successful as hell with kids in a big house making moves everyday. And you two just got back on good terms from the whole Reggie situation, just ask yourself would it really be worth arguing over at this moment?"
Cali nodded understanding their points, "Y'all are right, I'll drop it."
"Good now back to Hazel so she really had an abortion behind Derek's back? That's fucked up."
Alisha and Cai both nodded, "Yeah but her reasoning behind it was valid. Hazel has a problem carrying kids, she's had many miscarriages in her past marriage and when she got pregnant with Tyler it was stressful on her and she was at a high risk of losing him too. So she said when she went to the doctor they told her this time she was better off just having an abortion cause her body just isn't strong enough to carry full term. She didn't want to tell Derek because she knew he would have gotten so happy to be a daddy again just to turn around to find out they would have to kill it." Cali explained.
"Understandable but he still deserves to know, I mean I know I had my doubts about this pregnancy but as the days pass I couldn't imagine losing my baby so I feel her pain but he still needs to know at least." Kamry mumbled but soon regretted it when she saw the looks on their faces.
"Wait.. what? Bitch yo ass pregnant?" Cali semi-screamed growing excited by the minute.
"Happy Kwanza?"
Laying in bed Twan watched the video clips of him and Amira back when they were in High school. He had made the video collage a while ago but every year on her birthday and death date he would watch it and smile and laugh at how crazy they were about each other.
The video that was playing now was a video of them laying in her bed and she was just playing with his lips and making funny faces into the camera, but his favorite video was a video when she had went out of town for some days so she hadn't seen him and the way she ran and jumped into arms and screaming how much she missed and loved him always made him smile til this day.
Three years was a long time to be living without his heart but somehow he was doing it.
A faint weak knock at his door caught his attention so he paused the video then stood up not bothering to put on her a shirt. Stretching his arms and yawning from being in bed all day he walked towards the door turning the locks and almost fainted when he saw who it was.
Tears rushed to his eyes and his heartbeat had sped up. He blinked a million times just knowing that when he would open them she would be gone but each time she was there looking back at him with that same look of love in her eyes but she also looked weak as ever, but what caught his attentiom was the child she was carrying and assumed it was his baby, well their baby.
Trying to find the words to say, his breath got caught in his throat and the only words he could mutter out was, "Amira?" but he asked in a more so questioning tone.
She didn't say anything she just ran into his arms and hugged him as tears fell from both of their eyes. He thought she was dead and she thought she was never going to see him or her family again, but finally she was back home and safe after all these years.
