"SO the MAIN toons, (separed) see that their y/n was bieng hurt by one of the staff, how would they react ?? (Please with Shelly, Vee, Sprout, Astro and Dandy PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE"
Cross posted from Tumblr.
We're assuming you or they don't immediately brush it off like a Toon would with a Twisted.
==============================================
Shelly
"You're going to be okay..."
Seeing you get hurt really got her worried and pissed off. Shockingly, nobody likes it when their partner is getting attacked by a staff of a place that's supposed to be family friendly. She tries to intervene but the staff just brushes her off. She's effectively untouchable, but that doesn't stop her from reporting them to upper management.
Kids have usually (more commonly accidentally) hurt Toons before, but this was outright intentional, so she wouldn't buy a 'it was an accident' excuse. Because look at you! And look at them! They purposely hurt you! How could they?!
Immediately rushes to help you once the staff finally gets escorted out of the building after Shelly reported them. You don't initially move, just staying completely still; having your hands covering your head in order to protect yourself. It breaks her heart seeing you like this while the other better staff is trying to help you.
Immediately gets separation anxiety. She saw what happened to you, she isn't going to let herself get pushed aside like that again when you're in danger. It's one of her many regrets about that day and constantly beats herself up about it. You might tell her that it's not her fault, that she couldn't do anything about it, but she still feels incredibly guilty about it.
Even if it were months after the 'incident,' Shelly is still very much paranoid that something like that will happen again. Maybe to a lesser extent but she's still scared that a kid or adult alike could attack you again. Even if you have gotten over the whole thing, she kind of hasn't.
She'll bug upper management to do a bunch of background checks the next time they hire someone. She doesn't have to bug at them to press charges since they're already doing that, probably because most of the other staff members argued to press charges.
Shelly's heart continues to break if you flinch at so much as someone offering you a high five. If you still have PTSD after the whole incident, she'll offer you to stay around her doing activities like digging up fossils or reading books with her, since she doesn't really have any better alternatives to calm you down or keep you calm.
Vee
"What a total loser, huh?"
Immediately puts herself between you and the staff. Should the staff try to push her out of the way, that's when she'll attack herself. It's one of the only times where she get's legitimately aggressive and protective over you unless you had anxiety. She yells at them to back off, promptly getting the attention of other Toons or staff members, and you know what happens next.
You'd think that robots wouldn't have adrenaline, but you'd be oddly wrong in this regard. Because even though the threat at that point is gone, she still very much on fight or flight mode, and her fight mode is most certainly on. She absolutely refuses to leave your side until she's sure you're okay, all the while keeping a face of sternness without leaving your side. It's a side of her that you haven't seen before, something that likely shocked you seeing from her.
Maybe you'll notice that her tail is twitching with anxiety when she's escorting you to a medical area (I don't know what you'd call them for Toons). Luckily nothing you got was really life threatening; still traumatizing.
Once everything has cooled down and a few days passed she'll go back to her old self. Don't question how often she invites you to co-host with her on her gameshow. Don't question how often she curls her tail around your waist whenever a loud noise suddenly appears. It's nothing! Just her being slightly worried about you!
She comments on how sucky the person that attacked you was, practically making fun of them in an attempt to cheer you up. If this does or not is up to you.
Vee silently is seething to herself whenever she thinks about that day, how she could have done something sooner or acted faster. It's something she silently seething to herself about, because she doesn't really want to stress you out more than you already are. If you ask if she's alright, she'll just brush the topic off, saying "It's nothin' just thinking about something." She's hesitant to specify as to what.
For all of the information that's stored in her database, she's surprisingly unprepared to deal with your situation. She might know how to handle it, but she wasn't prepared for it. Why would she? Gardenview was supposed to be totally safe! With no way of it closing down due to safety issues.
Immediately after the incident happens, she all of a sudden has all the time in the world for you. You ask her to help you with something? She's right there! Struggling to figure out a answer to a question or problem? Wow, thanks for answering the question, Vee! Need help for burying a body? wHAT-
Off topic, but if she turns Twisted later down the line, she's very much against you getting out of her sight in any form. Effectively making her a possessive girlfriend or partner. Same goes for when she's not twisted, the only difference being that she can't really do anything about you wandering off other than following you, which is what she's more likely to do.
Sprout
"YOUR BEST FRIEND IS SUCH A LOoose-...."
"Finish that sentence, I dare you."
I wouldn't be surprised if the two just went into an all-out brawl. It's one-sided obviously, but like Vee, it caused enough commotion to draw attention, blah blah blah, person gets fired and you're traumatized. Woo.
Sprout being generally overprotective goes into overdrive around you. Not into yandere levels, but it quickly gets exhausting when you have him hovering over you all the time like a curious bee. He isn't exactly subtle about it either, really. In fact, you wouldn't be insane to think he was purposefully showing to be overprotective to discourage anything like what happened to you ever again. To you and any other Toon.
He'll suggest that you stay away from anyone violent, Toon or Human. He's perfectly fine with you hanging out with anyone else though. I mean, you're your own person so he won't force you to not hang out with anyone he doesn't like, but he does get really concerned or suspicious when you do hang out with someone violent.
Sprouts overprotectiveness dies down when you're showing signs of who you used to be. He knows you're recovering and doesn't feel the need to make sure you can hold your own. Because he knows you can after you're showing signs, you're alright. It's still there though, when he constantly asks you to help him and Cosmo to bake something.
He'll let you know if something feels off about any kind of situation that feels off or dangerous, I'd like to imagine that he has that kind of gut feeling of knowing immediately when something is awry. Either way, he won't leave you alone if that's ever the case.
Astro
"A-are you okay...?"
Astro isn't confrontational. So it likely doesn't come as a surprise that he doesn't get involved in the fight. Actually, he's hiding around a corner, stunned at the scene before him for a moment before running to get help. You know what happens next, let's move on.
Everything about the situation caught him off guard. He honestly has no idea what to really do besides just giving you encouragement and giving you better dreams. Unlike the other Main Toons, he asks for help with trying to repair your situation. This primarily is going to consist of going to the caretakers and a couple of other Toons that might know what to do.
That being said, he basically just holds you on a high pedestal for a while. He praises you whenever he sees you being depressed or sad in general and he prioritizes your wants over his owns for a while. All of this is unhealthy, don't make any if's ands or buts about it, but his justification for it is just trying to make you feel safer.
Astro isn't the best with comforting you, regrettably. He tries his best though! He'll give you his blanket if he believes that it'll help or he'll let you play with the ball on his hat if you want to. But other than that, he'll just rub you on the back and just try to comfort you the best he can, or just try to get your mind on something else.
"...Did you know that hedgehogs can only move as fast as four miles per hour?"
"...What?"
When you're finally getting better and getting more confident, he's relieved. Astro still follows you like a lost puppy, but if you don't really mind, neither does he. He still bombards you with good dreams so much that it starts to become boring dreams, but you don't really mention it to him.
If you're more prone to being frightened after the whole incident, Astro's rules apply to you temporarily or permanently depending on what you want. Either way, you two are in the same club because someone decided you didn't need to retain you happy go lucky attitude anymore.
One way or another, Astro isn't nearly as protective as Sprout or Vee but isn't as (extremely) clingy as Shelly. Accidentally becoming a lukewarm mix probably makes him a good person to be with during these kinds of situations.
