the two decided to eat their food moments later, and that too was done in silence. both minds were occupied with his earlier confession; cassie felt ever more bad, matt a bit relieved he finally told her, and both thought back to that night in their heads.

"this is so much better than that awful dessert." matt commented after a while and smiled at her.

"see, you hated it." she laughed and finished her food.

"yeah, i did."

"uh, matt? not to ruin the moment, but are those cops?" she mumbled and nodded downwards.

"shit." he muttered and put away his things. "someone must've seen and called on us."

"what? are you kidding? what happened to don't worry, no one's gonna' see us?"

"come on."

matt grabbed her hand and pulled her up, causing her to almost stumble against him. he quickly gathered their junk and gestured for her to climb down, which she obeyed to without a word.

cassie climbed down as fast as she could and took the things from his hands before tossing them in the nearest trashcan. she seized his hand again when he stood beside her and stared at him.

matt glanced behind his shoulder when a man called out and dragged her away from there. when she thought about the situation a bit more in her mind, a laughter escaped her lips, and that's how they ran away from the place and back to his car.
