these wounds."

I nodded and carefully laid his head on the floor, then positioned my hands on his chest. I pushed and pushed and eventually ended up just hitting his chest with as much force as I could manage until he lifted his head and sucked in a breath of air. "Derek," I whispered, touching his cheek. "Hey, you've got to stay awake."

"I-It hurts," he said with a cringe, digging the heels of his hands into his eyes. "Stiles, please!" I didn't know what to do. I didn't know how to help him. I couldn't take his pain. "Stiles," he said softer this time, tears beginning to run down his face and onto the floor. I carefully bent down, pressing my lips to his. He relaxed a little, but still winced at the pain. He curled a hand around my neck and squeezed gently. "D-Don't. . . go," he whispered, touching his forehead to mine.

I took his hand and kissed him again, hoping to distract him from most of the pain. "Never," I promised.

"I've got it!" Kara exclaimed as she came running into the room. She threw the bag at Cora who opened it up and got to work immediately. I talked to Derek through the whole thing, telling him stupid things he probably didn't care about, but he listened the entire time, stealing a few kisses in between my stories, especially when the pain worsened at times. Eventually, Cora had his front and back stitched up and mostly cleaned.

"Stay with him," she instructed, tugging on Kara's arm. "We're going to check on everyone else. Keep him awake."

I nodded in reply as they walked away towards the other hurt werewolves. Derek touched my chin, turning my face to look at him again. He tried to sit up, but I pushed him back to the floor. "Don't, you're going to hurt yourself."

Derek laughed softly, running his fingers through my hair. "You're my hero." I blushed slightly and shook my head, because I wasn't the one who saved him. Before I could deny anything, he pulled my lips back to his and kissed me, slow and meaningful.

"You're mine too," I whispered against his lips. If I said I wasn't a hero, he would frown and argue with me. I just wanted him to be happy. I knew that he was by the smile on his lips before he kissed me a second time.
