Chapter 16: The Giant Enemy Spider, Why is Everything Exploding?!
(Y): *worried and grossed out* Darkness wait!
Megumin: *blunt* She just said to not wait.
Darkness ran away as she let out a high pitch laughter. She made a b-line straight for the Destroyer's side as I assume she was hoping to scale the side of it and find a way inside it.
Male Adventurer: *surprised* Hey look! Darkness is attacking it!
Priest: *surprised* She intends to destroy it before it explodes!
Male Knight: *shocked* She's trying to save the town!
Male barbarian: *determined* I'm gonna go with her! I owe my life to this town and its people!
Male knight 2: *stern* I'm past level 30 so I should have left here ages ago. *cracks fingers* But now I remember why I stand in this town of beginning adventurers.
Dust: *looks at coupon* Where else could a guy party like a rockstar for cheap? *determined* Here's a chance for us to repay this town for all it's given us!
Dust's male party members: *determined* Yeah!
Male builder: *determined* We built this town and by god we'll protect it!
Other male builders: *determined* YEAH!!!!
Suddenly, all the men charged at the downed Destroyer as soon the women joined them too.
(Y): *blunt* They say they're doing it for the town, but deep down, I have an idea why they're really doing it.
I put Megumin down on the ground so that I could assist the others as soon I heard the sound wings flapping.
Wiz and Astarte: *concerned* (Y/N)!
I turned to see Astarte, Wiz, and Aqua landing as Astarte carried them here. Astarte charged at me and wrapped me in a hug while Wiz and Aqua looked concerned.
Astarte: *worried* I'm glad you're safe, but what are we going to do now?
(Y): *stern* Given the circumstance, I assume we're going to go inside the Destroyer, though I don't know what exactly we are going to do. Darkness is planning
Wiz: *concerned* I have an idea. The self destruct must have a power source. If we find it, we can shut it down.
(Y): *smiles* Better than the plan I just thought up.
Astarte: *confused* What plan was that?
(Y): *blunt* Push every button and hope nothing blows up.
Suddenly, we heard a crash and the cheers of the men and women as they rushed into the Destroyer.
Aqua: *worried* Looks to me they have everything under control now. Why don't we come back tomorrow when it's less crowde-
(Y): *blunt, grabs Aqua's hand* Nope, we're going in now.
Aqua: *scared* NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!
We went inside with everyone else as we followed the path of carnage made by everyone who went in before us. The carnage led from the entrance down the long halls and corridors all the way to the front most room that remained sealed for the time being. Suddenly, there was an explosion caused by the others as the door was blown open.
Male adventurer: We're in the cockpit!
the room was filled with smoke as I used the force to clear out the smoke as a few adventurers went into the cockpit.
Male adventurer 2: *shocked* Look, the pilot!
We looked at the one seat in the cockpit as we saw a mummified corpse of what used to be the pilot. All the while, I
Aqua: *grossed out* Ew!
Wiz: *sadden* Look at that, he's quite dead.
Aqua: Well at least he's not undead. Look at him, he must have died peacefully, without a single regret.
(Y): *shocked* Seriously? You think this guy died peacefully? There are no other bodies here meaning he died alone, in a giant rampaging machine, a slow and lonely death with no one by his side. If that's your idea of a peaceful death, then you're crazy.
Aqua: *sees book, surprised* What's this?
Aqua then picked up the book as she flipped it open and looked through the pages a bit.
Aqua: *reading book* "I can't believe what these big shots want me to do. I have to make a mobile fortress for next to nothing. Cheapskates."
(Y): *interested* So this is his diary then.

[They asked what I would use to power it. Hell if I'd know. To get them off my back, I asked them for something rare, Coronatite.]
[Dammit! They brought some! Now what? If this doesn't work, they'll execute me! It has to work! Please work! PLEASE!]
[I've hit a small snag with building it. The Coronatite works well to power the fortress, too well unfortunately. If I can't get this to work, this thing will blow up and I'll killed! I asked them to find something that can harness the power and filter it out so that it's safer for the fortress. If they can't find it, I can get out of this and keep my life. Gods, please please PLEASE, keep them from finding something.]
[The gods must hate me for something I did, either in my current life or in a past one. Those cheap fuckers somehow found a crystal that can harness the power of the Coronatite and use it to power the many functions of the fortress without overloading it. FUCK! Gods, whatever I did to deserve this, I'm so so so so sorry. Please forgive me and get me out of this mess!]
[Welp, it's finished. The Coronatite and the crystal are working together and the fortress is now...going on a rampage. It's completely out of my control and now I'm stuck in here by myself.]
[OH MY GODS! THE KINGDOM'S FALLEN! EVERYONE'S DEAD! This thing works as ordered though, so hey...nice job me. Anyway, I can't stop this thing and I can't get out so I think I'll be spending the rest of my life in it. WHAT KIND OF IDIOT FORGETS TO MAKE AN OFF SWITCH?!?! Oh right, I'm the idiot who forgot to make the off switch.]
(Y): ......*blunt* What an idiot.

Darkness and Kazuma: No!
Megumin and Astarte: Su!
(Y) and Yui: Ba!
The rest of the adventurers left after hearing there was no off switch while we stayed inside trying to figure out how to shut this thing down. We soon found the Coronatite as it floated in a cylindrical chamber.
(Y): *concerned* Well, now that the others are gone, what are we going to do?
Wiz: *worried* The Coronatite could explode at any minute.
Astarte: *concerned, to Aqua* Perhaps you could seal it away somehow, isn't that something Arch-priests and Arch-priestesses can do?
Aqua: *upset* What gave you that idea? *snarky* But if anyone can do it, I bet Wiz could do it.
Wiz: *worried* Uh...w-well....I could use a teleportation spell-
Aqua: *smiles* YES, do that!
Wiz: *sad* But I can't do it! I don't have enough magic! *turns to face me, nervous* Uh, (Y/N)....I have a request.
(Y): *worried* Uuuuuhhh, sure, what is it?
Wiz then put both of her hands on both sides of my head as she looked deeply into my eyes.
Wiz: *blushing* Would you please let me suck it?
(Y) and Astarte: *shocked* WHAT?!?!
Wiz: *nervous* Please!
(Y): ...................*deep breath* Okay, if this is what you really need....Then you can do it.
Wiz: *cheerfully* Thank you for letting me.
(Y): *nervous* Yep, just hurry up and do it already.
Astarte: *upset* Now hold on, don't I get any say in th-
(Y): *in pain* AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!
I began to feel my very energy drain out of me into Wiz from my face to her hands.
Wiz: *dramatic* Drain Touch! I'm so sorry.
I felt my very life force drain out of me as I looked down at my hands and saw them start to shrivel up and get thin.
Astarte and Aqua: *worried* Stop it! He's starting to shrivel up!
Wiz suddenly realized what she was doing and pulled her hands off of me as I fell to the ground with a thud, but somehow was still alive and conscious.
Wiz: I think I have enough now to do my teleportation magic.
(Y): *weakly, gives thumbs up* Yippee.
Astarte soon lifted me up as she put my arm around her shoulder and Aqua started to cast heal on me repeatedly.
Wiz: *concerned* Now, where to send it? There are only a few places where I can.
Out of nowhere, the Coronatite began to glow from it's threatening red and orange glow, to a brighter, more worrying white.
(Y): *worried* Well I suggest you choose soon, I'm not a Coronatite expert, but usually when something changes colors, that means something is about to happen!
Wiz: I could send it away immediately if I choose to do a random teleport.
(Y): *worried* Yes, fine, good, send it away!
Wiz: *worried* I-I don't know. What if it ends up going somewhere where there are lots of people?
(Y): *concerned* Wiz, I understand your worry, but think of it this way. By teleporting it you will protect all the of Axel and hopefully send it someplace that will hurt no one. If you don't teleport it, everyone in Axel will die, I guaranteed you that. Sometimes, we need to take risks like these to protect those we care about. But if it will make you feel better, *grabs her hands* I will take full responsibility for whatever happens with the Coronatite. Don't think about as your fault, I will be the one who takes whatever punishment is thrown at me.
Wiz: *small smile* If you say so, then I trust you (Y/N). Thank you. *dramatic* Teleport!
With that, a dark light engulfed the Coronatite as it was flashed away to wherever the spell placed it. We could only hope that it landed somewhere away from any town or homes. Without warning, a speaker came on from within the Destroyer.
Destroyer: *broadcast* Low power, Coronatite not found, switching to back up power.
Aqua: *scared* GAH! This thing is still going to explode!
Wiz: *confused* I don't understand! Without the Coronatite, what could be powering this thing?!
Astarte: *realization* The crystal! In the diary, it said that a crystal was needed to help filter and harness the power of the Destroyer.
(Y): *stern* Of course, the crystal must have stored enough of the energy from the Coronatite to act as a back up energy source.
Wiz: We have to hurry and find it then!
(Y): *smiles* And I think I know how.
I began to feel out with the force as I began to hear the same humming that I heard when I was with Darkness outside of the destroyer. The humming had gotten louder when I was inside the cockpit, so I instinctively went back there after we left the main reactor.
Aqua: *upset* Why are we back here?! There was nothing else in the journal after that last page!
(Y): *stern* We aren't here for the diary, we're here, for what's in there. *points to the pilot's chair*
I began to walk towards the chair, when all of a sudden, a shield came down around the pilot's chair and a few guns came down around it as they started to fire lasers at us. I pulled out my lightsaber as I began to use it to deflect the lasers. I was at first deflecting the lasers randomly away from us, but soon I started directing the lasers back at the guns, causing them to explode. Astarte even lent a hand by taking out one gun, and the machine generating the shield around the chair.
Wiz: *worried* why did that happen this time and not before?
(Y): *stern* I assume since the Destroyer had to go on backup power, it had to put up defenses to not only protect the pilot, but to also protect the backup power source.
Aqua: *confused* Then why didn't he put similar defenses around the Coronatite?
(Y): *confused* I guess he never expected anyone to get to the Coronatite and made this for a worst case scenario situation? Who knows, I mean he did call himself an idiot for not making an off switch.
With the defenses down, I walked up to the chair and lifted one of the dead pilot's hands as I saw a series of buttons, one of them being a big red button labeled: "backup power source, do not press." And why was this man trusted to build this thing to begin with? I pressed the button as the chair began to slide forwards as it revealed a panel on the floor that opened and up came a pedestal covered in wires and flashing lights, similar to the main reactor the Coronatite was in. However, what made this one different was the crystal in place as the power source, but the crystal itself confirmed my suspicions of what kind of crystal it was.
Somehow, these people had found and gotten their hands on a Kyber Crystal as it glowed a bright (favorite or 2nd favorite color). I looked for a safe way to release the crystal when suddenly I saw a button that said: "Crystal release, do not press." Again, why was this guy tasked with making this thing? I pressed the button as the glass chamber holding the crysal slid down and the crystal was removed from the top half of the machine that was holding it in place. I reached in and grabbed the crystal as it felt....warm. Not warm as in that the crystal was warm to touch, but it felt.....like it was alive.
Astarte: *confused* What is that?
(Y): *smiles* I'll tell you what it is. It's the ticket to a new lightsaber for me.
I placed the crystal in one of my belt pouches as the Destroyer voice came back again over the speakers, this time sounding as if it had a dying battery, which technically it did.
Destroyer: *broadcast* Energy sources depleted. Shutting dowwwwwwwwwwwwwwnnnnnnnnnnnn- *fades out*
With the self destruct now disabled, Wiz, Aqua, Astarte, and I made our way out of the Destroyer as we came out the same entrance we came in from. On the outside, we found Darkness standing there, looking out on the horizon for some reason.
(Y): *smiles* Oh there you are. Hate to break it to you, but fun's over. The Destroyer has no power and self destruct.
Darkness: *stern* The danger's hardly over. I can smell an opponent from a mile away. The scent of danger still lingers in the air here. This is far from over.
(Y): *confused* You're kidding right?
Suddenly, there was a trembling of the Destroyer and a horrifying loud creaking sound.
(Y): *worried* OH COME ON!!!!!
The Destroyer started to glow a bright orange as the ground beneath us started to get hot. Everyone still around the Destroyer ran away as we jumped off the Destroyer.
Kazuma: *scared* What the hell is going on?!
We turned to see Kazuma, Boga, Tiko, and Yui were now here for some reason.
(Y): *rushed* WHY ARE YOU GUYS HERE?!?!?!?! Nevermind! Long story short, We teleported it's power source away to stop it from exploding, but for some reason it's still trying to explode!
The eyes of the Destroyer then started exploding as burning steam shot out of the holes that were made.
Wiz: *Worried* Oh no! The Destroyer has become so hot that the pressure has ruptured the hull. If it explodes, the firestorm would destroy the whole town!
(Y): *worried* Then what was the point of teleporting the Coronatite!
Kazuma: *worried* Wiz, can you destroy it with your explosion spell?!
Wiz: *worried* I can't, I don't have enough magic left.
Kazuma: *smiles* I've got a plan! *Grabs Aqua's hand and starts draining her*
Aqua: *upset* Gah! What are you doing you worthless annoying shut in neet! This isn't the time for games!
Kazuma: *upset* Yeah I know that idiot! I'm giving your magical energy to Wiz so that she can blow it up!
(Y): *worried* Wouldn't pumping Aqua's magic into Wiz make her disappear?!
Kazuma: *upset* MOTHERFU-
(Y) and Astarte: *upset* NOT IN FRONT OF THE CHILD! *covers Yui's ears*
We then heard footsteps as behind us we saw Megumin riding on the back of the Mohawk Guy that I had seen multiple times in Axel.
Megumin: *dramatic* Your savior hath come! I couldn't get here sooner because I passed- er, yes I passed the threshold of my endurance. But I have recovered and I will show you true explosion power!

Mohawk Guy: *hearty laugh*
Our Party: *excited* Konosuba!
Kazuma, Megumin, and Aqua stood at the front as the rest of us stood back. Kazuma was draining power from Aqua and filtering it into Megumin as we could only watch.
Mohawk Guy: *stern* You guys only get one shot at this! Show me what you got.
I then pulled out my adventurer's card as I looked down and saw that I did have enough points that I could learn drain touch too.
(Y): *stern* We're gonna need as much power as we can get in Megumin. *slides card to activate drain touch* Astarte, will you help me?
Astarte: *smiles* For the greater good, and to protect all the people of this town, I would die for them.
We walked over to Kazuma, Aqua, and Megumin as I grabbed Astarte's hand with one hand and then grabbed Megumin's hand with my other hand. I then started to drain the energy out of Astarte as she groaned slightly and then sent the energy into Megumin.
Megumin: *excited, blushing* Oh yeah, so much energy! This will be an amazing explosion!
(Y): *stern* Let's not put too much into you Megumin. We don't want to destroy the town trying to save it, again!
Megumin: *upset* That was only the wall! I won't do that again!
Kazuma: *stern* That should be enough now. Hit it Megumin!
Megumin then began to cast her explosion spell as an enormous magic circle appeared eclipsing the Destroyer.
Megumin: *excited* This will be my most powerful explosion yet! One that shall not be eclipsed by anyone's! *surrounded by magical aura* It will forever reign as one of the greatest explosions- NO, THE GREATEST EXPLOSION! *laughs* Here goes! *dramatic* EXPLOSION!
The resulting explosion blew us back as Boga and Tiko kept us from getting hurt by catching us and standing their ground. The explosion managed to destroy the Destroyer, leaving as nothing but dust.

A few days have passed like the Destroyer was destroyed, the irony in that statement is thick, in any case, the thought about that Destroyer nearly destroying us all has been lingering in my mind. It made me reminisce about everything that has happened since I came to this world. The adventures I've been on, the people I've met, the friends that I've made. It definitely had a bit of a rocky start, but I love it here. Granted this world isn't the world-traveling adventure that I truly thought it was, but it's still amazing. It beats just being a
