'You're all disappointments.......' that kept echoing in my mind repetitively, before remembering a similar voice saying the exact same thing. Who said that to me? Even just the voice bothered me more, than the words he rambled on.
Who was this man, before giving up his humanity?
Akio steps in front of me, "Stay the hell away!" he abrasively shouts; his hands gripping his sword tightly.
The Upper Moon sneers, "So, you've got people defending you?" he tilts his head, sharp golden eyes piercing into my own directly. A shiver runs up my spine, feeling the hairs to stand up along my arms and neck. The Demon tossed Asahi's head with a 'thud', making it roll with a trail of blood following in the thick snow.
Licking his arm with blood rolling on the tip of his tongue, I push myself to my feet from the snow forgetting about Botan for now.
"You're in my territory now," he glowers upon us, with a dark threatening tone shifting easily. "So lets see if a fox can really catch two rabbits......"
~*~
It happened all too fast........
Tears blur my vision as my eyes rest tiredly upon Akio, blood pooling beneath him with one of his arms torn from his joints. You could even see the bone and muscle tissue, only ripped to shreds by the bloody claws of the Demon. My lungs on the verge of bursting, and my total concentration wasn't working as I've wanted since my rib broke.
Inhaling and wheezing from how hard my laboured breaths were, I grasp my chest to ease the pain.
"My..........you sure are quite the strong one," The Demon sneers, with a contemptuous voice. "You remind me of someone........a human, back when I once was a human myself. A child in fact, with eyes of defiance.........but of grace. You hold yourself well, despite your lack of weakness in strength and emotions....."
Blinking away the blur, "What is your name?" I spoke up shakily; throat so dry it felt like sandpaper.
He tilts his head again, "Kuragari........or that's what I was named," he growls lowly, baring his sharp teeth. "I don't want to pull this sentimental shit here, when you'll be perishing by my hands tonight. So at last......you die knowing my name. It's an honour....."
Stumbling for a moment slowly using total concentration to stop the bleeding, I tried to not allow my body to be overwhelmed by the damage that was laid on me.
I wonder..........how Sanemi is right now? Is he on another mission?
Ever since I've met him and had to learn how to tolerate his abrasive, and rude attitude, he was overall a guy I trusted. Masachika even welcomed him open arms, no hesitation whatsoever. If Sanemi never have met me that night, I would've died a few years ago. I wouldn't have become strong as I am today, and yet........I cannot defeat the Upper Moon four.
How pathetic........to think I was strong enough.....
Shifting my foot I angle my blade with a soft chime of my tassel on the hilt, before I inhale slowly and steadily before closing my eyes. "Dragon Breathing.....S-Second Form: Dragon Dance!" before angling body at a short close distance between us. Raising my blade like lighting vertically; the sound of crunching echoes slicing up through his throat to his skull. However, he grabs my hand without even looking my way, before a sickening crunch comes from my arm.
Holding in my cries I continue to try and shove the blade through his skull, but it wouldn't budge at all.
His face soon begins regenerating quickly simultaneously, before my blade is pulled out. He grips my hand making my blade fall from my grasp, before his claws wrap around my throat with a firmness. He was toying with me now, only allowing me to suffer in my own injuries I sustained from him. If I didn't train my body like a Demon Slayer, I would've been dead a few hours ago. So my training has not been in vain......
"You're getting weak, little bunny......." he sneers, before he draws me closer and licks a strip up tasting the blood that dribbles down. ".......your blood, it tastes.........sweet. Maybe if I let you live, you can be my blood bag when I need......perfect for on the go...."
"Never........I'd rather die," I utter out, feeling his claws piercing my flesh around my throat.
"Tsk...tsk.....that's right, you remind me of a child," He recalls, a sinister smile recollecting memories that I thought were a myth to a demon. Once you turn, you bury everything you left behind. Was this a choice, or Kibutsuji's idea? "A daughter.....who so wished to be a Slayer like you, who brought disappointment to me......"
His index finger draws a line delicately along the centre of my throat, as my breath hitches once I took a better look at him.
Before I even could utter out his name, everything felt like a blur before feeling my body in someones arms. It was so fast I couldn't even comprehend the pain my body jolted, seeing a larger figure charge head first. It was as if a heavy hurricane stormed in, taking me with it. Only feeling security, once I met his eyes. "Big brother.......?"
Ryuji's eyes glares dangerously, not saying another word as his face said everything.
He was beyond pissed..........
Kuragari stood there with his right up sliced to the nub of the shoulder, but he remains nonchalant but with an amused grin. He regenerates his arm instantly, before rolling his broad shoulders; preparing himself. "Looks like a real opponent has arrived......" he muses, as his tongue slithers out.
"How dare you use a sacred place, as your feeding ground....." Ryuji bitterly spoke, before lowering me down carefully against the tree. ".....this place was created by the Mizutsuki clan, by the first founder......you demons have no respect!"
"Respect? Respect?!" Kuragari laughs, with a patronising tone. "Don't give me that bullshit! No one lives here but me, the gods don't exist but demons alone! Even the father of us all, gave this power as he saw something in us who had fallen weak......"
"You still have no right!"
"BUT I DO!!!!" Kuragari growls angrily. "These grounds are my home! Because this was the very place I was left to die, nine years ago!"
What is he talking about?
How did he manage to die in a place like this, nine.....years...ago...?
"I don't understand," Ryuji shook his head, as he draws his blade out promptly. Shifting his position into a threatening stance, he raises his eyes with a troubling expression. Even I was baffled by this, despite that this Upper Moon was dangerous.
Something doesn't feel right......
"Our family died here......nine years ago, so.........who are you?"
