gwen widened her eyes, amused.
"i hope you like bikes," ben said after mal gave his answer a simple snort, and gwen watched on, with the biggest teasing grin on her face, as mal walked forwards to take the helmet off of ben with a smile before she turned around to evie and gwen, giving them an annoyed scowl.
"have fun!" gwen jokingly called out, and evie ran over to close their door after them, a smile on her lips that even had gwen smiling too. "so, princess, what do you wanna do while they're gone?"
"i don't kn— oh! i could start working on your coronation dress! you're here for fittings now anyways!"
gwen's face fell.
"suddenly i've just remembered i was supposed to hang with jay right now—!"
"—oh no you don't!"
gwen eventually spent the entire afternoon being forced into a dress by evie, and yet, although she usually hated it, there was just something special about the way her best friends eyes lit up here in auradon that had gwen smiling as well.
she had seen it on all their faces: jay seemed less aggressive, carlos was not as jumpy, mal actually smiled, evie was in her element, and gwen?
well, she didn't want to admit it, but somewhere deep within her heart, she finally felt something.
and that something was a feeling she never ever wanted to get rid of.
but gwen ignored the feeling as always, like she did with everything. but now the burning question was, how long could she ignore it for?
hint!
not long at all.
