MAY 31, 2019

Right just twenty minutes after the meeting, Madeleine already had her blood boiling every time she felt the gaze of her husband staring, at the corner of her eye.

As a sixth time back at this moment over the past two months ago, she was sent here once again by the cheater who couldn't even sign the divorce papers for once and all.

It was obvious that Madeleine was done with him. The judge knew--Brendan knew. But he didn't want to let her go yet. He wanted her to stay by his side and be his wife again with their kid at their Montreal home. Meanwhile, Madeleine knew that wasn't going to happen.

Listening to the lawyers and once thinking for himself, Brendan was just stressed over the fact that his wife has nothing to do with him. He knew she was done with him and way overpass that where she decided to look forward to the upcoming unknown news.

Frustration and anger went through Madeleine's bloody veins when Brendan's voice roared across the room as her lawyers addressed the rules of being soon-to-be exes. His own lawyers tried to calm him down, but his anger grew over the step.

Madeleine rolled her eyes as he said the word, 'love'. She didn't know if she ever believed in love after the horrible cheating incident.

"I won't sign the papers. That's final! I don't agree with this bullshit divorce agreement. I just want Madeleine," Brendan exclaimed to the judge once he narrowed his eyes at his wife, who had the biggest death glare plastered on her face.

"We're not doing this again, Brendan." She calmly warned, her fist fastened tight under the table. Her other hand was directed at his face. "You are a cheating, lying scumbag who deserves to be in h-"

"Mrs. Kennedy!" One of her lawyers cut her off with a dramatic exclaim and sighed.

Madeleine then looked forward to the judge with a tired, depressed look. "I'm sorry, Judge. But there is no way Brendan and I are having this conversation once again. We went past through it!"

The judge nodded his head as a statement and understanding. "That is acceptable but unfortunately, Miss, I cannot let you once think about the divorce papers again. As well as to you, sir, we have given you a couple of chances. This has to be the last one."

Within a swift move, Madeleine let out a loud scoff that caught everyone's attention. Her chair was screeched off on the floor, she snatched her bag and stood up. "Unbelievable."

Her lawyers quietly glanced at the unamused judge for the current situation he has seen over the lifetime of his twenty-plus year. "Mrs. Kennedy!" One of them yelled at her, but Madeleine wasn't even bothered to turn around and look back. She already left the building.

Her blood was steaming with anger. She felt even dizzy the fact that she's wasted the time with the meeting because of him. She was so angry. Frustrated.

Madeleine rapidly walked to her car and stomped every step she took along the way, but she was cut off by her dumbass cheating husband.

"Madeleine!" He yelled out and she let out a loud groan of disappointment, swinging her bag around on her shoulder when she slightly flinched to glance at him. He ran to her and stopped her from opening her car door.

She rolled her eyes. "What the fuck do you want, Brendan?" Rudely as always, she had a disgraceful look to remind him what he's done to their small family that even never existed until their son was eventually born.

"I-I..." he was stuttering over his words to match up the paragraph he had in mind. "I don't want you to leave." He admitted and Madeleine quickly pushed her brows together.

"Brendan-" She began, but he cut her off, unknowingly shaking his head, looking at the ground as if he regretted saying his meaningful words to her.

"I know what you're gonna say, but I can't help it. I could never leave our relationship like that. You're still the love of my life, even though I hurt you. Sorry isn't enough. I was stupid and useless and seeing you in pain was something that I had to avoid." Madeleine could've sworn that she almost saw a small invisible tear stumble from his eye.

She sighed and turned around, getting inside of her car. Brendan thought she was going to leave, but she stayed and stared at him in nothing but pure sadness.

"You know we can't go back. Not because of our kid, but because of what you did... It's not that simple, Brendan. Being friends could be an option for the both of us, but your actions need to be heard louder." She explained and Brendan nodded his head as an understanding.

"I'm sorry, Madel." He whispered, lost in the mixture of her eyes and she quietly swallowed harshly, tightly clutching her hand around the wheel. Then, Brendan cleared his throat. "I'll let you go now."

Madeleine slightly smiled before it disappeared when she thought about the euphoric moments with Brendan just when she was dating him as soon as she began high school and got married to him three years later.

"Goodbye, Brendan."
