MADELEINE

It's been a few days since the talk with my sister's fiancé, and I just felt so relieved, maybe now that I've finally got to push off the extreme tension off my shoulders.

Talking to Zack about my problems and the messy divorce with Brendan was a great deal, timing, but I felt bad for letting Zack include in this problem of a divorce. I never wanted that to happen to him nor my sister.

For the last time, I've bought tickets to see a hockey game in Toronto. They were playing against New Jersey so that wasn't too bad at all. Honestly, I haven't been to or seen a hockey game in a long time ever since Brendan and I separated.

I just lost touch with one of my favourite sports because of the tension and stress I had to handle and watching hockey was just not a good idea to get in the way.

Now that it was all under control, I just knew watching hockey again was an awesome deal as I finally bought tickets that are even better seats than anyone could ever arrange.

Although, Zack and I were already planning to buy hockey tickets way before he had proposed to my sister a few months ago, even though I didn't exactly plan to tell him that I bought the tickets not too long ago.

But he knew either way and was just joyfully happy that I was excited to see a hockey game in person. He knew it's been too long and impatiently was waiting to go with me and the other family members.

Right now as this moment when Zack drove us to the Scotiabank Arena, I wouldn't exactly deny that they were many paparazzi surrounded by the car and us as we were all trapped since I haven't been spotted by anyone outside in forever.

I just kept myself under control and the spotlight away from the overwhelming divorce that I was currently dealing with and my own baby who's growing up too fast right in my eyes.

People were yelling my name and my siblings with their partners and it was all a headache as I still haven't gotten used to it ever since I was first pregnant with my son.

And the thing was that I forgot that it was a big deal the fact that I brought my son to a hockey game. It was also his favourite sport and non-other else. He was stuck to it when his dad introduced him to hockey when Mason was just a few months old.

I remembered when Mason kept crying on the ice rink because he was falling over multiple times that I lost count while Brendan was comforting him. It was funny but upsetting and it wasn't that big of a deal as Mason began to grow and like Canada's sport that his dad introduced him into.

"Gosh, that was exhausting." Nathan declaimed through sighing. "Even though, I've asked you this so many times, how the hell do you even handle the paparazzi?" He asked.

With a response, Beatrice carelessly slapped the back of his head and loudly scoffed, earning a loud 'ow' that was echoed through the hallways of the arena.

Beatrice rolled her eyes at him. "What do you even expect, dumbass? She's a singer." Zack unknowingly laughed at his crazy soon-to-be wife and I chuckled while Mason kept tugging on my jeans.

I looked down at him and gave him a smile which he responded with a huge adorable grin. We held hands and Mason kept right by my leg all day long until we reach to our seats and sat down.

I brought him on my lap and let him glance at the ice rink coloured of blue and maple leafs' logo plastered on. I had my Tavares' jersey while Mason had Nylander's and the rest of them had Matthews' or Marner's.

Right at the end of the national anthem, we sat back down and I drank small bits of beer once in a while every time a new period started. It was currently the second period and the Devils had the lead of three to nothing.
