Your POV

I slowed the horse down as we reached the top of the mountain trail at 5 pm.

Taking in the breath-taking view of the mountains, the sky painted in orange hue.

"Mikey, the sunset is beautiful." I said as I watched the sun slowly setting.

"No" he said and tightened his arms around my waist and buried his face on my back.

"W-wha- you can let go now, the horse isn't running." I awkwardly said.

"Ahyaw" he said and smuggled his head to my back.

[T: I don't want to.]

My grip on the horse lead tighened as I felt my heart beat faster and louder.

SASABOG NA YUNG PUSO KO SANDALEE!!

[T: WAIT!! MY HEART WILL EXPLODE!.]

"Lulu-chin, sunset is bad. I no like sunset. Take it back." He said as I was left confused.

"O-okay, I take it back." I said.

Maybe I triggered a trauma or something, I just have to agree so I won't make it worse.

"We haven't even started and yet you're letting go already. You're unfair. Making me fall for you in the first time we met but you're saying goodbye. Don't leave me yet...please." He said in straight Japanese but it felt sorrowful.

Ano daw? Shet! Ano gagawin ko?!! Baka umiyak siya gago. Mahina ako pag may umiyak na pogi.

[T: What did he say? Shit! What do I do?!! What if he cries. I'm weak to handsome crying men.]

Hindi kasali si Danielo dun kasi pangit siya haha.

[T: Danielo is not included because he's ugly haha.]

Pero di yun yung point. Hala, nakokonsensya ako.

[T: But that's not the point. I feel guilty.]

"Mikey, I'm sorry. I won't say it anymore. Don't be sad, please." I said.

"Promise?" He said

Oh my, sheyt, bat ka ba ganyan ka-cute. Mamamatay na ako dito.

[T: Oh my, shit, why are you so damn cute. I'll really die here.]

"Yeah, promise." I said

We both sat down in the open field as we watched the sunset quietly. I tied the horse nearby.

The sound of swaying grasses and leaves entered my ears.

"Mikey, thank you for taking me out today." I said.

"Anytime." He replied.

I feel conflicted in many ways. I'm confused and I want answers.

Maybe this is the right time.

"Mikey?" I asked.

"Hmm?"

"Why are you doing all of this?" I asked.

"What you mean?" He asked and looked at me.

"You know, this. Taking me out, helping me at work and following me where I go." I explained.

"Because I want to." He said and smiled.

"Then what are we?" I asked as anxiety starts to kick in.

"People?" he unsurely replied.

"No, what I mean is, what am I to you?" I asked.

"A special person." He replied

"Okay, then what's our relationship?" I asked.

"Me and Lulu-chin are friends." He said as my breath hitched and I felt my chest thightened.

Of course, what did I expect? We just met last month.

I know we we're just friends and I kept telling myself that.

Sabi ko kasi hanggang sana lang ang lahat. Bakit pa ako umasa?

[T: I told you, it's just a hopefull wish. Why did I hope that it'l be something more?]

"Lulu-chin?" He asked as I felt my eyes began to water so I quickly stood up and smiled.

"Let's go back, it's almost night time." I said.

"Okay" he said.

We rode the horse back to the start of the trail.

As the horse ran quiclky, the wind was drying my tears. I didn't utter a word until we finally got back.

"Sorry, Mikey, but can you return Mike back to the keeper? I feel tired." I said and gave him the leash.

"Okay, you can wait in the car." He said and gave me the car keys. I smiled and uttered a thanks before I walked back to where he parked the car.

Some tears were falling and I quickly wiped them away.

I sat in the front passenger seat so he won't notice anything.

I calmed myself down and stared outside the window.

Umasa pa kasi ako, masyado akong assuming. Wala namang meaning yung one-night stand namin eh. Hanggang kaibigan lang kasi. Wag na maging T.A.N.G.A.

[T: I hoped, I assumed too much. Our one-night stand doesn't even have a meaning. We're just friends. Don't be stupid.]

Ganun lang siguro talaga ugali niya, hindi ka non gusto. Di mo pa naman masyadong kilala eh. Wag mo nalang pangunahan.

[T: Maybe it's just how the way he is, he's not into me. I don't even know him well. Don't think ahead.]

I waited for him but I just fell asleep.

A Few Days After

Mikey's POV

Luz has been a little distant than usual and I can't seem to understand why.

She's not too talkative lately. When I try to talk to her she would just answer in short responses and smile before leaving.

She also keeps herself busy with work most of the time.

"Psst. Kuya Mikey, what happened to you and Ate Luz?" Her co-worker asked as we watch her do her work from the side.

"Oo nga, medyo bad mood." One said.

[T: Yeah, she's in a bit of a bad mood.]

I don't know, she just keeps avoiding me these days ever since we went out together.

I typed on my phone and showed them.

"Baka nireregla lang yan." One said.

[T: Maybe she's on her period.]

"Hindi yan." Another replied

[T: I think not.]

"Pano mo nasabe?" the other replied.

[T: Why did you say so?]

"Kasi laging galit yan kapag meron eh. Beast mode lagi." One said

[T: Because she's always angry if she has it. Always in beast mode.]

"Ay oo nga noh."

[T: Oh yeah]

"Kuya, did something unusual happen when you to were together? Or did she ask you anything?" One asked me.

She sddenly asked me what our relationship is or what is she to me.

"What did you say?"

"I said, Lulu is my friend and she's special." I said.

"Ay naku! Kaya naman pala. *tsk tsk tsk*" They said.

[T: Oh gosh! So that's why.]

"What?" I asked.

"Kuya, do you really just want to be friends with Ate Luz?" One asked.

Why are they asking me that?

"We are friends but of course I don't want to be just that." I said.

"Oi! Sabi ko na kasi, asan yung one hundred ko!?" They said.

[T: Oi! I told you guys, where's my one hunded!?]

I think they made a bet on something.

"Why you ask me that?" I asked and the one of Luz's Guy co-worker put his arm around my shoulder.

He's taller than me.

"Boss, when a girl asked you what is your relationship with her, she is seeking confirmation about what you feel." He said

"Huh?"

"That means, she wants to know if you like her as a friend or more." He said

"Yeah, so basically, you friendzoned her back then." Another said.

"What?" I asked.

So I made a mistake? Damnit. Google didn't tell me about this. I'll take back the rating I gave.

"What do I do?" I asked.

"Don't worry, boss. We got your back! Us men have to stick together." One said.

"That's right! We're going to help you win her back in the Pinoy way. Hundred percent effective." They said
