Your POV

Slowly sneaking behind the castle they have built, Mikey and I made eye contact before he threw a water balloon-like grenade.

"HOY!!" They shouted while I laughed like a mad scientist. Mikey continued to throw water balloons on the others.

"We're taking your castle down!" Mikey exclaimed.

"HAHAHA, HUMANDA KAYO SAKIN MGA PASAWAY NA BATA!" I shouted and threw balloons.

[T: HAHAHA, PREPARE YOURSELVES BRATS!]

They were making a human wall to protect their castle while some were trying to fight us off.

"Ang daya ninyo!" They said.

[T: You guys are unfair!]

We gave them a small chance by "accidentally" dropping some empty balloons so they have something to fight us with.

Splashes of water and waves of laughter were heard around the area. The smiles that everyone was showing were wide and genuine.

Except for one.

I was stealing glances at Mikey's direction every chance I could and even if his smiles were wide and his laughs were heard, something about his eyes tells me otherwise.

"Mikey?" I called while I saw him staring blankly at the campfire beside the beach.

We all decided to have an overnight stay at the resort and had a bonfire while were at it.

"Hmm?" He responded as I sat beside him and leaned on his shoulder.

The others were already asleep at their lodgings, we were the only ones left awake since we didn't do many tiring things.

"Are you okay?" I asked

"Yeah." He only replied.

I sighed and kept silent while continuing to watch the flames dance before my eyes.

Slowly I held his hand and interlocked our fingers and then hummed a tune that soon turned into a song.

(I recommend playing the song till the end.)

"β™ͺ Mga lumuluhang mata, kalungkutan na hindi matago-tago β™ͺ" I sang as I rubbed circles with my thumb on his, accompanied by the crackles from the burning wood.

"β™ͺ Sa isang tingin akala mo ay okay lang, andito lang ako, para sa'yo β™ͺ" I continued and looked at his direction.

"β™ͺ Para sa'yo. Para sa'yoβ™ͺ" I smiled for a while before looking at the sea where the moon was reflected on the waters.

" β™ͺAkala mo hindi po pansin. Ikaw lang naman itong hindi umaamin. Huwang nang mabagabag sa kahahantunganβ™ͺ " The sound of waves and crickets also sounded like they were joining me as I sing.

"β™ͺ Andito lang ako para sa'yo, para sa'yo, para sa'yo, para sa'yoβ™ͺ "

Slowly I looked back ay Mikey who was also staring right back at me. Our gazes met and in his beautiful ebony eyes, the light from the fire reflected on one eye while the other is from the moonlight.

They were shining beautifully but that isn't the shine I wanted to see.

My hand gently reached his face and caressed his cheek.

"Mikey, from now on I'll always be here for you, remember that." I said with a loving smile.

"Lulu-chin you don't even fully know me yet." He said and looked away.

I cupped both of his cheeks to make him look at my face. And before he can pull away I placed a gentle kiss on his lips.

"Then let me know you." I said

"You'll just run away, it's better this way." He said.

"Then at least lean on me when you're down. I love seeing you happy." I said

"You won't leave even I keep a secret?" He asked.

"Everyone has their own secret that needs to be kept to their selves. I won't insist that you tell me anything about it as long as you won't lie about not being okay." I said.

He looked at me with an amazed expression before it turned into a smile.

"Okay." He said and hugged me.

I only closed my eyes as I felt my shirt slowly get wet and silent sobs came with the sound of the waves and burning wood.

I only continued to hum the song that I was singing earlier while I rubbed circles on his back.

His grip in my shirt slightly tightened as he continued to let his emotions out.

It breaks me how it felt like he was keeping everything in for many years.

Why are you sad, Mikey? Why are you hurt? What happened to you? How long have you been like this?

Many questions are left unanswered in my mind and I don't plan on asking him any of it because too much involvement will lead to separation.

If I pry too much he'll push me away.

So, Lord God, kung naririnig mo man po ako, sana po ay tulungan niyo siya sa kanyang pinagdadaanan.

[T: So, Lord God, if you can hear me, please help him get by in what he's ever going through.]

"Lulu-chin" he softly called.

"Hmm?" I asked.

"You won't leave me right?" he asked. I pulled away from the hug and looked at him. I gently wiped some of his tears away.

"Of course, I won't leave, I'll stay whether you like it or not." I said with and smiled.

"Eh pero kung may pa-epal na iba jan di parin ako aalis, sila papaalisin ko. Akala naman nila kung sino sila, ako naman yung nauna. Subukan talaga nila at ihahatid ko sila kay San Ped-" I began to rant but he cut me off with a kiss on the lips.

[T: But if someone suddenly came in, I still won't leave since I'll make them leave instead. Who do they think they are, I was here first. If they even try to get close I'll deliver them to St. Pet-]

My eyes widened for a while before slowly melting in his kiss.

He was caressing both of my cheeks while I slowly put my arms around his neck.

The kiss we shared was passionate but at the same, it was a kiss that felt like the world was ending.

Occasionally pulling away to catch our breaths before going back again. He was taking the lead and he was kissing like there won't be a tomorrow.

It's not an aggressive or a lustful kiss, it's also not too sweet like the kisses he would share at special moments. It was a kiss of longing and comfort.

To me, it felt like he was so afraid of me leaving his side. Attachment issues? I don't know.

After a few more moments of sharing a passionate kiss. He leaned his forehead on my shoulder while I gently pat the back of his head.

"Lulu-chin, Aishiteru. " He said.

I'm not too ignorant of the Japanese language so I knew what that means.

"Mikey, Mahal din kita. " I replied.

I never loved someone like this even after only a few months of knowing each other. It's like my heart was already his before I knew him.
