"C'mon man, you got this. I'm sure Y/N'll say yes."

It seemed as if Kuboyasu's words went in one of Kaidou's ears and out the other. His words were heard, yes, but there was no chance Kaidou was listening. Classes had just ended for the day, and students were rushing about everywhere to make it to their after school clubs or to hurry home as fast as possible. Kaidou and Kuboyasu were sitting near the shoe lockers, getting ready to leave. Unfortunately for the latter, Kaidou caught Y/N in the corner of his eye and started clamming up. It was rather obvious he liked them, and it was only a matter of time until they noticed his rather obvious and large crush.

Y/N glanced over at him, shooting him a charming smile that just sent his heart racing. His face went red, and he awkwardly smiled and waved. At this point, Kuboyasu was just sick of seeing this, it had gone on too long.

"Tell them, Kaidou. Tell them now." He said, knowing he could scare Kaidou into it. By the frightened look on Kaidou's face, he knew it worked.

Kaidou turned to walk over and ask to talk to Y/N privately but he saw Hairo walk over and steal them away. He assumed they were off to some sort of sports practice, but that only served to fuel a newly found jealousy of the red-haired boy. He was supposed to be with you right now instead.

Oh well, he thought. There was always tomorrow.

The next day arrived, and school proceeded averagely, if not boring. Once the bell rang, Kaidou met up with Nendou, Kuboyasu, and Saiki by the front door. Happy that it was finally time to head home, the four of them started making their way off the property.

"Hey, guys!" The friend group jumped (save for Saiki, of course) at the sudden sound of Y/N's voice. "Are you on your way home? Mind if I join you?" Kaidou's eye's lit up. This was his chance! He should be able to get her alone, right?

Wrong. Nendou just had to open his big mouth, didn't he? Now you were all off to get ramen, and even worse, Kaidou lived in the opposite direction as you, so walking you home was no longer an option. Therefore, it seemed today just wasn't meant to be the day.

Waking up the next morning, Kaidou was determined. Today had to be the day. He was shocked by his confidence but was ready to ask Y/N out nonetheless. Hurrying to get ready and out the door, Kaidou ran through his plan to ask you out. Deciding to just be simple, he slowed to a walk and entered the school gates. Sitting down in his seat just in time for class to start, he realized the biggest issue with his plan.

You weren't there.

Sighing, Kaidou felt his plan internally crumble. What was he going to do? Did the universe just not want the two of you together?

Sitting down at the lunch table with his friends, Kaidou was still in a sour mood. He needed to let out his frustrations, of course, he'd talk to Kuboyasu, he already knew the situation and was the obvious best bet. Kaidou pulled Kuboyasu to the side so they could speak privately.

"Kuboyasu... nothing is working, all my plans have been disrupted. It seems I can't ask them out anyway." Kaidou hesitated, rather obviously searching for a reason that he keeps getting interrupted, "It must be Dark Reunion! They're interfering with this to get back at me for fighting them!"

As their conversation continued, neither of them noticed you behind them. Having just gotten to school late, as you had an appointment, you walked up to the two of your friends, happy to see them. It seemed they never noticed you, though, and so you overheard some of their conversations.

Kaidou had a crush? Oh. Feeling the heartbreak start to overwhelm you, you turn and ran away from them, no longer want to hear about it.

Hearing the grass crunching behind them, the two boys whipped their heads around to see who was there. All they saw was your fleeting figure. Confused, and unsure of what to do, they finished up their conversation and went back into the school building to finish off the school day. Neither of them got another chance to talk to you that day.

The next day, Kaidou had become worried. Why had you run away from them like that? Did he do something wrong? Kaidou was now even more determined than before. He stood and waited by the school's front gates, making sure he'd catch you coming in.

Kaidou had come along way over the past four days. He went from a complete blushing mess to determined to ask you out. Or so he thought.

Arriving at school, you were tired. You had stayed up late at night, unable to fall asleep due to conflicting feelings of liking Kaidou and wanting him to be happy with his crush. Slowly, you made your way to P.K. Academy. You saw him at the gate. What was he doing there? Maybe you'd work up the courage to say hi to him.

Seeing your slowly approaching form, Kaidou felt his confidence melt away, replaced with pure nervousness. He knew it was now or never, though.

"H-hey Y/N! Can we talk for a second?" Kaidou grabbed your attention with his raised voice. You were given no choice, you couldn't resist him.

"Yeah, what's up?" You were scared to ask, what could he want from you?

"This is going to seem really w-weird but I need to t-tell you..." Kaidou's voice trailed off and his face quickly became a dark red colour. He covered his face and tried again, "I-I like you Y/N!"

You were taken aback in shock. It took you a minute to process the new information. Ecstatic. That was the word that best described how you felt.

"I like you, Kaidou."

His face somehow became darker.

"You're serious? This isn't a joke?"

You could see the fear in his eyes, he was genuine too.

"Of course I'm serious. How could I not like you?"

He jumped. Kaidou jumped in the air while pumping his fist. Was it ever this adorable?

"Wanna meet up after school today?" You asked. He smiled and agreed.

You walked into school, holding hands.
