"Is he coming over again?" Mom asks leaning against the island counter while Cohen eats his cereal. I wasn't really hungry so I was just drinking a glass of juice.

It was currently Saturday morning and Dante was coming over once again which wasn't really that surprising since he comes over every weekend, I wouldn't be shocked if our neighbours thought he lives here. It's kind of surprising how much free time he has to come over all the time.

Mom wasn't going to work today because she wasn't feeling well so Dad told her to rest.

It's been around a week since the whole bathroom incident and Cohen had most likely forgotten about the hickey that was on my neck. I hadn't really had the chance to talk to Dante since then since I was busy with school work and he was busy with his college applications and other stuff.

"Well, I'm starting to get a really bad headache to I'm heading up to take a nap. If you need anything just wake me up or ask Judy" Mom says, standing up and letting out a cough.

"Get well soon" I say, finishing up with my glass of juice.

"What time is Dante coming over?" I ask Cohen while walking to the sink and placing my empty glass into it.

"In around two hours. Why?" He asks looking at me, placing his own bowl in the sink.

"Oh nothing, I was just wondering" I shrug casually.

"I need to ask you something," Cohen states looking at me.

"Huh?" I look at him, waiting for him to continue.

"I've noticed that you and Dante have been starting to get a lot closer, or at least closer that you guys used to be before" Cohen shrugs eyeing me.

Oh..

"I guess it's because he's always over at our house, I don't know" I shrug.

"Enough about this. Tell me about Lucas. You guys have a few classes together right?" I ask, leaning against the island counter.

Cohen's cheeks turned a light shade of pink and he just rolled his eyes.

"There's nothing to talk about him anyways. You know him better than I do. Plus we only have calculus together" He shrugs.

"Do you like him?" I ask bluntly.

Cohen stares at me for what felt like a whole minute, no expression on his face before he looked down at the floor and let out a long sigh.

"Maybe," Cohen says.

I let out a smile before walking to the living room, Cohen heading upstairs to his room.

Why don't they just date already? They clearly like each other.

Around one and a half hours later, the doorbell rang and I stood up from my spot on the sofa and walked to the door.

It's probably Dante.

I open the door and not to my surprise it was Dante standing on the other side, playing with a pebble near his feet.

Once he heard the door open he looked up from the floor and smiled once he saw me.

"Hey Amber" He greets sending me a cheeky smile while walking into the house and closing the door shut behind.

If you guys were wondering, no, he still hasn't stopped calling me random names.

"Hey Danny" I send him a sarcastic smile back before walking to the sofa I was previously sitting on.

"Cohen is upstairs" I simply say unpausing the show I was watching. Dante follows me into the living room before laying down on the carpet.

I heard footsteps descend from the stairs, Cohen walking into the living room.

Dante and Cohen ended up snatching the remote from me before putting on Barbie.

I ended up watching the show with them before I decided to head to the washroom.

Once I was done using it, I opened the door and I saw Dante laying on my bed using his phone.

"What are you doing in here? Weren't you watching Barbie?" I ask him.

He looks up at me once he heard my voice and got off my bed walking up to me.

"Yeah, we were, but your brother decided to go use the bathroom as well so I was left alone downstairs" Dante shrugs, placing both his hands on my waist and looking down at me.

"Well let's go downstairs" I say, but not making the effort to move.

"Let's wait for a few more minutes" Dante shrugs, sending me a small smile.

He looks at me for a few seconds, his eyes trailing down from my eyes, to my nose then my lips before moving back up to my eyes. He tucks a piece of my hair behind my ear before he leans down closer to me, only a few inches away.

His lips brushed against mine softly, tenderly , like the flutter of butterfly wings. I could feel the warmth from his body against mine, in a way making me feel safe and protected, his minty breath mingling with mine. Our lips pressed against each other and it made me feel like we were in our own little bubble. I've kissed him multiple times before and every single time it feels like the first, he makes me feel special in every way.

I pull away from him to catch my breath, Dante doing the same. I slowly open my eyes and I'm met with his twinkling hazel ones. Dante sent me a small smile and he opened his mouth to say something but he was cut short by someone at the entrance on my door.

"What. The. Fuck am I seeing with my eyeballs?" Cohen mutters, his mouth wide open and his eyes held a rigid look.

I quickly drop my hands from the back of Dante's neck and push his hands off my waist, backing away from him.

Dante just casually walks behind me as if I was his protective barrier from my brother.

Cohen walks into my room his jaws clenched, probably stopping himself from yelling.

"What the fuck? Dante did you just kiss my sister?" Cohen seethes.

Maybe it's a sign that we're supposed to tell him.

"Yeah we kissed, and I'll do it again to be sure" I say.

I heard Dante letting out a small prayer before mumbling something that sounded like 'this is how I die'

"Anaïs, What the fuck is wrong with you?" Cohen groans, frustratedly rubbing his face.

"Nothing is wrong with me, you're just being dramatic and over exaggerating. It's literally just a kiss" I reason.

Cohen looks behind me to Dante and narrows his eyes at him.

"Dude? What?" Cohen grumbles.

"I'm sorry but I can't help who I like, just the same way you can't help but like Lucas" Dante answers, moving so that he wasn't standing behind me anymore.

Cohens face softens before his eyebrows furrow.

Dante has a point, Lucas is my best friend but I'll be more than happy to set him up with my brother if they're happy together. Cohen should be able to do the same for his sister. It's only fair.

"And that too Lucas is my best friend, I don't mind if you guys like each other. If it makes you happy then be my guest. It's only fair if you do the same for me" I frown staring at Cohen.

Cohen looks at me for a second before he mumbles, telling us to come downstairs so we could talk about it.

Probably from all the commotion, Mum had woken up, her half sleeping figure leaning against the doorframe of her bedroom.

"Is everything alright? Why are you guys screaming?" She asks oblivious to the situation.

"Everything is okay Mum, sorry for being too loud" Cohen says before he heads down the stairs.

Mum mumbles something to herself before closing the door again, probably going back to sleep.

The three of us headed down the stairs, Cohen was in the kitchen getting himself some water while Dante and I took a seat on the high stool. I could hear him silently praying to himself.

He looked very nervous, he was fidgeting with his fingers under the table, once I noticed that, I placed a hand on top of his and he relaxes a bit.

"So you guys are dating or something?" Cohen asks, drinking water from a bottle while sitting opposite us, his eyes moving back and forth between Dante and I.

Sounds like something dad would do.

"No" I shake my head.

"We're not dating" Dante says at the same time.

"We just like each other" I say

"When did you guys end up...liking each other" Cohen inquires again.

"During the vacation" Dante simply answers.

"You've got to be fucking with me, that was almost five months ago, dude" Cohen replies running a hand through his hair.

"It's not like I can do anything about it, I don't control who I like" Dante argues.

"Yes you can" Cohen shoots back.

"No you can't" Dante narrows his eyes.

"Yes you—" Cohen starts off with his argument but I cut both of them off.

"So you're saying that you purposely started to like Lucas?" I raise my eyebrows at my brother.

"That's...different, I don't even like—" Cohen starts off with an excuse but I cut him off again.

"Don't start with the bullshit that you don't like Lucas, we all know you like him. It's pretty obvious." I shake my head at him.

Cohen just stares at me for a second, trying to think of something to say but he just lets out a huff and rests his head on the island counter.

"You liking Dante is different from me liking Lucas, Ana" He mumbles.

"How?" Dante probes.

"She's my sister and she has feelings for my best friend. It's weird" Cohen says.

"How is it any different from you liking Lucas. You're my brother and you have feelings for my best friend" I furrow my eyebrows at him.

Cohen looks at both of us before letting out a defeated sigh, he got up from the chair and threw the empty water bottle into the dustbin before leaning his hand against the counter.

"So you guys just hid it from me for 5 months?" He says looking at us.

"Um.." Dante mumbles rubbing his neck.

"Fine whatever, Just don't hurt my sister or I won't be afraid of beating the crap out of you, best friend or not" Cohen threatens, staring at Dante.

Dante's eyes widen before he clears his throat and nods his head.

"Let's go watch Barbie, that show lifts up my mood" Cohen mumbles playfully, walking to the living room.

I stared at Cohens receding figure in complete shock, Dante doing the same. We both look at each other before a full blown smile takes over our face.

Damn.
