"I might not be back until six today, find a ride home" Cohen states before getting out of the car, slamming his door shut.

I groan and got out of the car slamming his car door shut as well, taking long strides up to him, I yank on his bag making him stumble back and glare at me with his brown eyes that we both share in common.

"What the hell Cohen? If you knew you were going to come home late why didn't you tell me before?" I complain.

"Ask that one girl to drop you off. Whats her name again? Emma?" Cohen says, a bored look settled on his face.

"First of all, her name is Evelyn. And second of all, she isn't in school today" I huff and cross my arms over my chest. Don't I just have the best luck? the day that my best friend decides not to come to school because she "needed a break" is the day I don't have a ride back home. Amazing.

Like seriously, shouldn't he have at least told me before hand that he was coming home late?

"Yeah whatever, guess you're walking home" my brother gives me a unapologetic smile before I heard the person I despise the most call out my brothers name.

Dante West.

"Yo Cohen! I don't think I'll make it for football practice. I might be getting with that one girl...I don't remember her name. But it's the one with the huge tits. Just tell coach it was an emergency" Dante says and walks up to us.

"Oh, hi Amber" Dante smirks. He knows I don't like it when he mistakes my name for something else, so now he does it purposely, just to tick me off.

"Fuck off" I grumble before I walk away from both the boys. Walking straight for my first class.

Cohen and Dante have been friends since middle school, they never left each others sides. Dante always found it amusing to see me annoyed so he used to always make it his mission to piss me off every single day, he never stops.

I do the same too though, I always tease him for the fact that he can't tie his own shoelace. A whole 18 year old can't tie his own shoelace. the thought making me laugh to myself.

Cohen was just a year older than me, he is quite the player himself but he isn't as much of a fuckboy compared to Dante.

I walk into my class and took a seat at the complete back, I still had around 10 minutes left before Class starts so I decided to rest my head in my arms and wait.

Not even a minute later,I felt a tap on my shoulder, I groan and look up. There stood in front of me was non other than Ian Brown, my cheating ex boyfriend.

"What do you want now?" I groan and look up at him with a blank expression.

"Baby please, can you please try and listen to me? I didn't mean to cheat on you. It was a mistake. I miss you soo much Anaïs." Ian starts with his lousy explanations.

I had broken up with him when I walked in on him sleeping with another girl during a party, he said he had gone to get another drink but when he never came back after thirty minutes, I started looking for him. And that's when I saw him butt naked with a girl in a room.

That was almost four months ago, Cohen never liked Ian. He always used to say, and I quote unquote "He's a fishy guy, I don't like him" every single time Ian came over to our house. I never bothered listening to Cohen though, Ian and  I dated for almost eight months.

I'm not going to lie and say that I wasn't hurt. Cause it really did hurt seeing him with another girl, but I'm proud to say that I've started to move on from him.

He always tries to talk to me giving me lousy excuses about why he slept with another girl. But honestly, I'm done with his bullshit.

If he really loved me, he would have never even thought about cheating on. Let alone actually cheat on me.

"Ian, I need you to understand that I'm completely done with your lousy bullshit of an explanation. I've said this before and I'll say it again, I do not want to get back with your cheating ass. Now if you would excuse me, I'm trying to sleep" I state before I put my head back down in my arms.

"Fine. You were a bitch anyways. You'll never find a guy like me again, and you'll soon be begging to come back to me. Just you watch" Ian glares at me and walks off.

I sure will never find a guy like him. And I pray I don't find a guy like him ever again.

I roll my eyes and close them once again, to get just a bit of sleep before the teacher walks in. But as soon as I was about to doze off. The teacher walks in, slamming his books down on the table and asking for the class to quiet down.

I quietly groan and pick my head up, listen to what the teacher was saying.

I hate school.

***

Lunch came by really fast and before I knew it, I was walking down the hall to get to the cafeteria.

I didn't miss the stares and whispers people usually gave me when walking by.

Having a brother that's pretty well known around the school, makes me get a bit of the attention too. Which I really despise, especially because of the amount of fake people trying to become my friend to get to know my brother and Dante.

Most girls in this school always faked being my friend to try and get with Cohen. It really didn't bother me that much though, cause they never really ended up with him.

As for the guys in my school... well they never really talked to me because of the glares they get from Cohen. He may act like he doesn't really care about me but he really is an over protective big brother, which at times I was really thankful for. But at other times it gets a bit annoying.

I push the cafeteria doors open which gather a bit of attention as some people turn their heads to look or glare at me. Most of the glare were coming from girls though, they get jealous for some weird reason.

I stood in line for the tray of disgusting cafeteria food. Once I got my food, I head to the doors of the cafeteria again. Evelyn and I usually sit outside under a tree that we found.

But I soon stop in my tracks when I hear my brother call out my name.

"Anaïs!"

I turn to glare at him and I saw him making a hand gesture for me to come to him. I groan to myself before I walk up to his table, which consisted of him, Dante (Who was also the quarterback of the football team) and other people that were on the school football team.

"What?" I grit out once I was near his table.

"Gosh, why are you soo mad" Cohen says, rolling his eyes.

"Because. You should know by now that I don't like you calling out my name so loudly in school, it gathers peoples attention and you know I don't like it" I sigh and move my weight to my other foot.

"Oh, Oops. Sorry, I forgot. Where's Emma—" Cohen asks, I quickly cut him off, correcting him.

"It's Evelyn"

"Right. Where's Evelyn?" Cohen asks.

"I've already told you, she's not in school today" I say

"So where were you going right now?" He inquires

"Oh, you know, I was going skydiving. The usual" I shrug

Cohen just stares at me with an unimpressed blank look.

"I was going to go eat my lunch Cohen. What do you think I was going to do?" I roll my eyes at him.

"I was going to ask you if you wanted to sit with us since your friend isn't here, but you're acting like a brat. So now I'm contemplating if I want to ask you to sit with us" Cohen says dumbly.

"Well, I wouldn't want to sit here anyways. So if you would excuse me, I'm leaving" I say before I turn my heels. But Cohen starts to say something.

"Just sit with us. It really isn't a big deal" He says.

"I really don't—" I was cut off by the scumbag himself.

"Why not? Just sit with us, are you scared?" Dante smirks

"Your face annoys me, shut the fuck up" I grit out.

"Anaïs" Cohen looks at me, his eyes narrowed a bit.

I look back at Cohen and sigh before taking a seat in between Dante and Cohen, since that was the only seat left.

I look up only to realise that many people in the cafeteria were looking at me.

This is the exact reason I don't like sitting here.

"See? It brings in soo much attention" I grumble looking at my sad plate of mashed potato and gravy.

"What are y'all looking at?!" Dante speaks up loud enough for everyone's head in the cafeteria to snap back to whatever they were doing.

"See? They aren't looking here anymore" Dante gives me a tight, annoying smile.

I want to slap his face so hard right now.

I played around with my food a bit, solely for the fact that I really didn't want to eat it. It looks disgusting and I'm pretty sure it tastes disgusting.

"Oh, I completely forgot to tell you. Dante said he doesn't mind dropping you off after school. He isn't coming for practice today" Cohen says before his eyes shift from me to Dante then back at me again.

"No thanks, I'd rather walk home. I'm not sitting in a car with...this" I say before I look at Dante with disgust.

"Anaïs" Cohen says once again, his eyes narrowed.

"Don't Anaïs me, you know for a fact I don't like him. So I'll be fine walking home. There's no way in hell I'm going to sit in a car with him for over twenty minutes. And if I remember clearly, today morning you said that I'm walking home. I don't see what the problem is with me walking home now." I shrug and look at my food again.

"Princess, it'll take you almost thirty five minutes for you to reach home if you walk" Dante speaks up looking down at me with his hazel brown eyes.

"First of all, don't call me that you twat" I start and pinch him on his arm, which he only makes a fake hurt expression at.

"And secondly, I don't mind walking home. Even if it takes thirty minutes. I'm not going to stay in the same car as you for more than two minutes. Thank you very much" I roll my eyes and look back at Cohen who only pinches the bridge of his nose and let's out a big huff. He turns to look at me with an annoyed expression.

"Just go home with him Ana. It'll get late by the time you reach home" Cohen states

"Then I'll wait for you" I shrug

"No you will not. Dante's dropping you off" Cohen glares at me.

I huff out a breath of air and turned to look at Dante who only have a smug look on his face. I grit my teeth and tug at his hair forcefully, causing him to Yelp then smirk.

"That's exactly how you'll be pulling my hair in bed" He proceeds to smirk.

"Bro. No. Stop" Cohen glares at Dante who only lifts his hands up in surrender and turn back to his plate of food.

I very maturely stuck my tongue out at Dante.

"God bless you two" I hear Cohen mumble.

***

I grumble and walk out the school buildings when school was over. I'm usually really happy when school ends, but right now I wasn't, only because I had to sit in a car for more than twenty minutes with Dante the dickhead. I saw him leaning against his car looking through his phone, he hadn't noticed that I had come out yet.

My gaze turns to the school entrance and I make a beeline for it. Trying to escape without him spotting me. But that completely failed when he lifts his head up and his eyes land on me.

I'm not going to lie and say that Dante wasn't hot. Because he was, I just never really liked him because, number one, he has a rotten personality. Number two, he uses girls like toys, which really disgusts me, he talks about them like they're solely made for the purpose of his pleasure. It doesn't make it better that girls throw themselves at him.

I pretend I didn't see him and use my long black hair as a shield to cover my face as I continue my journey to the entrance of the school. Once I reach there I look back and see if he was following, but thankfully he wasn't anywhere is sight.

I start to walk on the sidewalk, trying to not step on the cracks in the pavement for fun when I suddenly hear a loud honk.

I quietly turn around startled and I saw a black Audi pull up beside me. I instantly recognised that car.

Dante's car.

I pretend to ignore it and continued walking, it's nice to walk, it helps you clear your mind and think about things. It's also really relaxing.

Compared to having to sit in Dante's car, which only consists on him being a total jerk and having to see his annoying yet kind of handsome smirk.

He's disgusting. But also disgustingly hot...but still pretty disgusting.

"Just get in the car Ana, or I just won't stop driving slow beside you and I won't stop honking either" Dante states, rolling down window of the passenger side, he was driving at the pace of my steps.

"You don't get to call me Ana, and I want to walk, it's relaxing. You can go do whatever you were going to do anyways" I say and turn back to face the path in front of me.

Knowing him, he's probably missing football practice to go and sleep with a girl. I sometimes question how he's a quarterback.

"No, just get in the goddamn car" Dante grumbles. And then proceeded to continuously honk at me.

"Okay! Stop honking! Jeez" I roll my eyes and glare at him.

Dante smirks as I get into his car, I purposely ignore him because I was very very very close to slapping the stupid smirk off his face.

"You know...I've always wondered why you hate me so much." Dante says, looking at me for a split second before facing the road again.

"Because you're a jerk and treat woman like toys. You have no respect for them, you talk about them like they're a toy, you use them till your satisfactions are fulfilled. You know they have feelings too, right? you can't treat them like they're just people you sleep around with whenever you want. You really need to start respecting them more" I start a mini rant about how much of a jerk he is.

"Jeez, calm down." Dante rolls his eyes.

"Do you see what I mean? I try telling you that you need to change your attitude cause it's really horrible, and you only shoot the whole thing down by telling me to "calm down" this is exactly why I despise you. You're a selfish, close minded clown who only thinks about your own needs and not about what others might feel " I roll my eyes at him.

Dante only rolls his eyes and shakes his head.

Jerk.

***

"Oh and I forgot to tell you, your brother said he won't be back until later than seven" Dante says.

I nod my head and quietly thank him for the ride home before I walk to the door. He waits for me to get inside the house before he drives off.

The entire ride home was pure silence, both of us in our own thoughts. What surprised me the most was the fact that Dante didn't keep shooting me his annoying smirks every half a minute or kept trying to annoy me. He was completely silent. Which I of course enjoyed.

Mum and Dad weren't here as usual, they always are away for business trips so it didn't bother me when Judy, our house help came up to me and told me that they weren't here and they weren't going to be back for another week. Great.

Judy has been working with us since my brother was 4 and I was 3, she was the one who actually raised both my brother and I, more than my partner ever have. I saw her more of a mother figure than anything else.

She is the most sweetest and purest soul ever.

"Ana, I've made dinner. Come grab a serving once you're done. I made your favourite chicken fajitas" Judy smiles opening the door to my room.

It was currently 7:30 and I was sitting at the study table finishing any homework I had. Cohen still wasn't back.

"Really? Thank you so much Judy" I smile and stand up from the chair walking out of my room and down the carpeted stairs. I followed Judy into the kitchen and she handed me a serving of the food.

"Where's Cohen? He isn't back yet?" Judy inquires as I sit on the high stool near the marbled kitchen island.

"Nope, he's not coming back until late" I shake my head as I dig into the yummy food.

Once I was done with my food, it was around 8 so I decided to just go back up to my room and head to bed.

I need all the extra sleep I can have after today's nonsense with the asshat himself.
