'Yes yes, anything else you need to add in the list of reasons why I need to attend Sykkuno's dinner party, Toast?'

'Um, I suppose Corpse said quite enough.' Toast answered, chuckling.

'Yea.' Corpse said, his deep voice resonating on the call.

'Oh so you call 18 reasons enough?' Rae answered back, her dog Mika was playing with her and she had her headsets on. 'I simply said why should I join and he gave me 18 fucking reasons, Toast. 18!'

Toast and Corpse laughed, frustrating Rae all the more.

'Come on, Rachel. You know Sykkuno's never kept a dinner party in his entire lifetime.' Corpse said, and Toast added a meek yes in between. 'Don't you think as the Amigops we need to be there?'

That was the most Rae had heard Corpse speak in one go. And considering how Sykkuno and Corpse were best friends, she saw this coming, honestly.

'Oh yes.' Toast said, his voice holding more laughter. 'We're the misspelled group of friends, Rae. And we gotta go!'

'Yea but what about Mika?' Rae said, cupping her dog's face and planting a kiss on her. 'I don't want him kept away for an entire weekend!'

Since the drive to Sykkuno's house would be four hours and a total of eight, everyone thought it best to extens the dinner party stay as a weekend stay and when Leslie told Sykkuno that they were staying over the weekend, he just agreed.

Hesitantly of course.

'So bring him along, Rae.' Toast said, tired of Rae's excuses. 'Even Corpse who is literally faceless to the world is coming to this, and you're the one to make excuses!' Toast clicked his tongue.

'Well, Corpse is going to face shield himself.' Rae groaned, and her tone louder. 'And then...'

'No then, Rae. We're going.' Corpse said, more of a order than a demand. 'If you're not leaving with Poki and Janet by Saturday morning, you could join us. Sykkuno needs help to set up for an entire weekend and we're heading there by Friday night.'

'Sykkuno would need an extra pair of hands, and since Corpse and I are his good true friends, we're going early.' Toast tried his reverse psychology method. 'You can join on Saturday morning like the rest of the crew.'

Toast and Corpse held their breath, the latter suppressing a chuckle as Rae furrowed her brows. 'Stop with the reverse psychology Toast.' She said as Mika ran out of the room to fetch a ball. 'I am his good true friend too, I don't need to go early to prove that.'

Both Toast and Corpse groaned over the call. 'You handle her.' Toast said, all tired. 'I give up.'

'Argh.' Corpse's deep voice rattled, 'I wasn't going to use this but Rae you made me say this.'

Rae sat back with curiosity.

'The Friday dinner is just going to be the four of us and I would be coming without a mask.' Corpse hadn't even completed his statement when Rae gasped loudly, and Toast chuckled.

'WHAT!'

'Hear me out.' Corpse said at the same time Toast said, 'Hear him out first.'

'No. What. Wait.' Rae stammered, seeing Corpse without a mask and face to face was a huge thing. 'No seriously?'

'Yes. Because I'll be leaving by Saturday morning by the time everyone else arrives.' Corpse reasoned, 'And you three are my friends.'

'Aww.' Toast cooed, jokingly, 'Such an honor.'

Rae's adrenaline was pumping, 'But wait, are you ready? I mean.' She sounded unsure, 'Comfortable? You don't have to you know.'

Corpse chuckled, 'Don't worry Rachel. Kinda trust you three with my life these days.'

Where Toast was stunned with such a heartfelt revelation, Rae found her eyes tearing up a bit. 'Alright. Geez.' She said, agreeing to go early. 'I'm in, Amigops.'

'Cool.' Toast said, 'Pick you up by 4 then. Bye.'

They cut the call and Rae sighed. She was very excited to meet Corpse and have a good dinner time with her Amigops, but then, she had a very silly weird intuition about Sykkuno's twin.

Sure she was afraid she'd ruin the party if that J guy would vouch in his stupid opinions about gamers again, but then, what are the chances that in a party full of gamers and streamers, he'd have the audacity to speak.

But, boy, was she wrong.

'It's not even funny.'

However Toast and Corpse's loud laughter was a clear indication to their disagreement.

The ride to Sykkuno's house was surprisingly excellent. To say Rae's heart warmed at seeing Corpse faceless was an understatement. She literally just jumped in his arms, giving him a hug while Toast stood out their range.

Corpse chuckled, patting Rae's back and Rae then gave Toast a side hug after which they sat in the car. She had let Mika stay back home with Imane for the night and then he'd be at the neighbors for the weekend.

She just didn't want Mika around Bimbus (Sykkuno's dog) and bully the cute little thing.

They then had a good time driving Toast's car to Vegas, shuffling through their playlists and even singing out loud for everyone on the road to stare at them.

Everything was going good until the time when they reached Sykkuno's apartment building and while they walked in the meadow, a nest just out of nowhere fell on her and ruined her hair completely.

The twigs entangled and messed her straight hair which she had left open, and unfortunately the eggs in them cracked on her precious hair.

Not only was she looking like she carried a nest on her head, she also smelled bad with the eggs all over her.

'Literally two baby birds just died on my head.' Rae said, frustratingly as she tried removing the twigs from her hair but ended up messing it more. The raw eggs now trailed it's mess all over her t-shirt. 'And how could you two just keep laughing!'

But Toast and Corpse were only laughing.

Rae groaned and stomped her feet as she moved towards Sykkuno's apartment. She quickly rang the doorbell and within a minute the door opened. She shut her eyes, and groaning while she smelled her hair.

'I swear Sykkuno, if you laugh, I'm going to kill-'

She stopped when she realized it wasn't Sykkuno who was opened the door. She didn't have a lot of time to glance at the tall guy in front of her, since Toast and Corpse were right behind her and Sykkuno was walking from the kitchen.

But she did meet his eyes.

And he met hers.

And all she saw were deep black orbs, boring right into hers.

And something instantly clicked.

Of course, it was the eggshell that fell on the floor.

Also, I wanted Corpse to be maskless to his Amigops because how else is he going to eat? But, I wouldn't want to disrespect his privacy by describing him in any way. Let him reveal when he wants to!
